This place is a joke. It took us 25 minutes to receive our food. And the restaurant was deserted… people were starting to walk up and take their food off the bar themselves instead of having to wait for the one girl working to take it to the tables. Do. Not. Come. Here.

I went to Smashburger today. Place was clean and very modern inside. Staff was friendly and my food arrived prompt and piping hot. I had a bacon cheesesburger and fries combo. $ 11.97 out the door. I must be honest. I wasn’t that impressed. The burger was small and thrown together. I had to stop myself and make sure I hadnt’t time warped into a 1980“s era Wendy’s. Seemed like I had ordered a Dave’s single back when they used decent beef. The bacon and patty was small. The shoestring fries were fresh and tasty but not enough for me to come back or recommend. Just too expensive for what you get. Jollybee is very comparable and 3 bucks cheaper.

Smashburger has some good burgers, fries, and salads. Most of the time I order the salads and those are huge. I love vegetables so its no problem for me. The only downside is that they put too much dressing and it can get overly sweet. The burgers come with beef patties or chicken(crispy or grilled). I go pretty often and tried all of their burgers and salads. Their fries can be a little oily especially if you order the smashfries. Sometimes, they give you coupons and you can get some by signing up for their newsletter. Overall, its a good place to eat if you don’t mind spending a couple extra bucks

Smashburger has a couple of locations in the SoCal area, but this one is located outside the Buena Park Mall in DT Buena Park on La Palma, not too far from Knott’s Berry Farm. Here’s my review(of Smashburger): For those of you who haven’t heard of SmashBurger(like me): Smashburger is like when Five Guys + The Habit Burger & Grill had a baby. You can customise your own burger/sandwich — They have both beef and chicken(grilled or crispy), as well as a couple of salads you can pick from. The only bone I have to pick with this place is that it’s a little bit overpriced(sure, it’s not grass-fed like Burger Lounge or Stacked, but for a «fast-food”/table service-like location, I didn’t think that the fries/onion rings would be considered«side orders» when you can actually put them in a combo like you would do a normal order with a burger/chicken sandwich. Anyway, I had a Spicy jalapeño Baja Chicken Sandwich with a side of the fried pickles(Yes, I have NOT had fried pickles before — a confession I had to make LOL), and let me tell you — both the sandwich and the pickles were Mmm Mmm GOOD! And I had to give SmashBurger the thumbs up for putting both the chipotle AND the regular ranch on the side for the fried pickles, because if they didn’t, they would’ve tasted a bit too salty from being in the fryer. The chicken had a crunch on my teeth, and the lettuce didn’t taste soggy at all. Smashburger has both an indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio, so you’d be able to take a walk inside the Buena Park Mall after your lunch(which I thought was really convenient). I would definitely head back to Smashburger for lunch — even though it’s a little pricey, but I got what I paid for.

Had the All American sans the bun. Beautifully plated! Restaurant is clean – even the restrooms are cleaner than many eating establishments.

This place has surprisingly delicious burgers! I ordered the mushroom truffle and swiss burger and it was so juicy and flavorful. I loovvee the egg bun! It was warm and soft and had just the right amount of chew to it. We got the smash fries which were seasoned well with herby rosemary goodness. They were a bit on the greasy side but still crisp and delicious. Also note, I think if you’re ordering a specialty burger you have to ask them to add stuff on. My mushroom swiss burger came with mayo, patty, Swiss and nothing else. I thought it was great the way it was served, but if you want lettuce and tomato etc be sure to ask them to add it on. Prices were fair considering that places like Carl’s Jr. also have $ 6 burgers on their menus.

First off, this ENTIRE restraint smells horrible!!! It smells like a public fucking bathroom… with all that disgusting diluted bleach they use to mop/clean. Service wise, sucks. All the workers look miserable. 12 bucks for a classic combo, subbed with a black bean patti. The black bean patty looked soo fucking gross but I ate it anyways cuz I was hungry and tasted disgusting. Asked for regular fries and received Rosemary fries. Really disgusting smelling restaurant, and horrible food. I work inside the mall and came here during my lunch. After I clocked in from my lunch i asked my manager if I could leave early because I was soooooo grossed out. Won’t be coming back here ever again!!!

I will say that this place is a bit expensive for a burger and fries. However, that aside… I love it! The food itself is delicious. I always order their black bean burger, and it’s a great vegetarian option packed with flavor. My word of advice on ordering burgers is to customize it to your liking. I literally stuff my burger with so many toppings and it never fails. I throw on lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, smash sauce, etc. An easy way to custom order? It’s not extra money, just order online before you go in. It feels simpler to just pick and choose options through their online ordering service sometimes. If you order fries, it doesn’t come with too much for the price that you pay. Nonetheless, they’re good. Try the smash sauce! I would say that a meal probably ends up around $ 10. I appreciate this restaurant for the varieties and options that they offer. The inside is extremely clean and trendy. It is located outside the main entrance to the Buena Park Mall, close to Buffalo Wild Wings. Parking is usually fine. Sometimes this area is crowded but only because of all the restaurants or some of the mall stores. Employees always seem polite and the food comes quickly! All I know is that I love going here when I can! I’d recommend it to anybody who enjoys a burger. I’m a vegetarian and I still love going here just for the black bean burger. Edit: No longer vegetarian, now vegan so no burger options left here! But if you’re vegetarian, try that black bean burger! I still stop in occasionally to grab fries! 4 stars for being a bit pricier.

Burger was fresh and good. Fries and onion rings where so thin that not much to eat. Lots of waste. Onion hash was over cook that it tastes bitter. Store was clean but it was empty.

Love Smashburger! Drive all the way from Lakewood to Buena Park just to get my fix. I usually get the Truffle Mushroom Swiss and sweet potato fries. So delicious. My hubby always gets Smashfries with his burger. And I’ve had their Shakes before — so yummy. And you can get a «gluten free» bun for a buck, which I appreciate. True it’s a bit more than the usual burger but it’s worth it. And you can enter your phone number for rewards — gotten that too. I find the help to be just the right amount of caring and involved — nice — but not too much — and they bring your food to your table pretty quick. They often times will clean up after you as well.

I ordered a regular cheeseburger combo. It was my first time here and was a little surprised at the prices. The burger was good, fries were okay. The place was really clean and staff was pleasant enough. I would not come back though… for the price I’d rather go to Eureka! burger.

Had the BBQ bacon burger with a side of Smash Fries and my girl had the Truffle Mushroom Swiss. Both burgers were extremely oily. After a few bites my tongue felt like it was covered in a film of the stuff. The fries were even worse. They were glistening with the sheer amount of oil. On top of that, they were way too crunchy for me; I felt like I was eating uncooked pasta that had been drenched in olive oil. The only reason I came here was because of the BOGO entrée coupon I had. I’m glad I didn’t have to pay full price to eat at Trashburger.

Their burgers are delicious, juicy, flavorful and tons of options. They also have a great selection of sides, fries, fried vegetables, fried pickles, sweet potato fries, buffalo fries and my favorite, smash fries. Smash fries are tossed in olive oil, garlic and rosemary which gives them a nice flavor but doesn’t overwhelm your palette. My only knock is that it’s expensive, with a burger, fries and a drink you’re looking at a minimum of $ 13 a person at a fast food restaurant.

Just another burger/sandwich option. After a few trips to Smash Burger, I’m finally ready to write a review. Located in the ever-changing Buena Park Mall(«Downtown»), Smash Burger sits between Buffalo Wild Wings and DSW. Parking is usually a pain, now that they have added more and more restaurants, effectively taking away several spots and increasing traffic. I’ve had the turkey burger, chicken sandwich, Cobb salad, fries, sweet potato fries, and truffle fries. Boyfriend usually opts for some kind of hamburger with bacon and cheese on it. The sandwiches are the best thing they offer, literally«smashed» to make the meat a thin patty that extends over the bun. Great if you like a bite of meat on every piece of bread, but not so great if you prefer a thick patty. The fries are shoe-string style(not my fave) which cool quickly and are crunchy while the truffle fries are quite greasy. I would not suggest the Cobb salad(or maybe any of the salads). The lettuce was wilted and brown, the egg is fried instead of boiled, and the bleu cheese was overly excessive. Is it McDonalds or Burger King bad? No. Is is Slater’s 50⁄50 good? No. It’s decent.

After hearing about a new burger joint making a presence in Southern California to rival one of Los Angeles’ own historic burger joint, I had to pay a visit. In 2012, they made their presence known with a unique name. It took me three years, but I got to try it. Might I say, its definitely worth a visit… Many times over. A certain green superhero loves to say this word and millions love to eat it. We head on over to Smashburger at the Buena Park Downtown Mall. Located at the north side of Buena Park Downtown Mall, but south of La Palma Ave at the center of it all. There are plenty of parking. There are no excuses to try this place out. As you walk up, its a bit intimidating when you’ve never been to a burger joint that you are not used to seeing in SoCal. The sign alone reminds you of a certain video game chain too. Smashburger! Love the name! Just wonder if they SMASH the food too. That’s why I am here to try this place out. This Smashburger has a huge outdoor patio to sit out and relax. Inside, they have a BIGGER dining area from sitting on the counters at tables. The ceiling is very tall, but for good reason. The decorative lighting makes the environment a premium destination. The lighting reaches the ceiling and comes right down for you to see. I was welcomed by Smashburger Employee, Nallely. I told her that it was my first time here and she was gladly to help me guide through Smashburger’s menu. Smashburger does not sell their food through combos. All of their item are a la carte. I don’t eat red meat. I optioned going towards the chicken sandwiches. With recommendation, I ordered an Avocado Grilled Chicken Sandwich($ 7.29). In addition, I was a little stumped on what kind of side to order. So far, I haven’t ordered anything with the keyword: SMASH. With Sweet Potato fries the love of my fries life, I ordered a regular size of SMASHFRIES($ 2.29). She gave me a little table marker as they deliver your order to your table. FYI, they do serve alcohol at this location. Don’t forget to sign up for their Smash Rewads programSmashburger does take pride on their Certified Angus Beef, but also takes huge pride on serving their food FRESH! Since I ordered a chicken sandwich, I do hope its also raised farm fresh or to the best? The wait for the meal was about five to seven minutes. While you wait, you the table marker has a little fun fact or SMASHFACT on it. Nallely brought the wonderful SMASH food to my table and it looked SMASHing. Right of the bat, on my Avocado Grilled Chicken Sandwich was the nicely sliced, avocados with some fresh tomatoes. Smashburger did not put the burger together, but rather separating the burger for the customer to approve before they eat it. The bacon strips were lightly drizzled with ranch dressing with the grilled chicken in sight. The grilled chicken did look very different. Most of us know it coming out brown and with grilled marks. This chicken patty looks very different. Actually, it appealed to me more knowing it wasn’t a processed version. The Avocado Club was smooth, but very filling. Every bite from the bite, the juiciness of the tomatoes, to the coolness of the avocado elegantly made the chicken sandwich perfect. On to the SMASHFRIES, they are skinny fries seasoned with Italian olive oil, rosemary, and garlic. You can dip in ketchup or some chipotle mayo, but without any sauce, its so crispy, it makes the other burger joints getting ready to run to the hills. Welcome to SoCal Smashburger, you had a SMASH hit and I hope you continue to make some great news. If Smashburger can verify that some, or even better, ALL of their meat are served fresh without any hormones, you got my assurance that you got my heart and future visits. In addition, recognition goes to Nallely who went above her duties to make sure my 1st visit was a memorable one. She gave me a coupon to come back and get a free side order. Thank you Nallely! I am definitely looking forward to trying their other menu items and see how Smashburger is growing up in SoCal. Unilocal…I Live, Breathe, and Share my Reviews for everyone to read. Come Join Me!

Don’t make me hungry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m hungry. What happens when I get hungry? RODNEYSMASH!!! Free side with entrée coupon Having previously visited a Smashburger in South OC, I was already familiar with the restaurant chain. Not exactly blown away by that particular location, I wanted to see if the Buena Park Smashburger could tickle my burger funnybone. Smashburger is known for their Create Your Own Burger, but I decided to go with their local Signature burger. Fried garlic pickles– For my free side, I went with the fried garlic pickles. Awesome chips of bright, crunchy garlic pickles. I was given choices for dipping sauce, & quickly asked for ranch. These were great! My complaint is not having an AYCE option ;p LA Signature Smashburger(beef, regular-size) — Choice of beef or chicken, with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, cilantro, crispy wonton, fried egg & Japanese steakhouse ginger dressing, all in a black & white sesame seed bun. Of course, I added a liberal dousing of Cholula hot sauce for fun. A very delicious burger! The cool cucumber slices refreshed, the crispy wonton brought the crunchy texture and the fried egg provided the eggy goodness. FYI, by default, fried eggs are cooked well done. I prefer having a runny egg on my burger, so I’ll make sure to ask for that next time. The all natural, certified Angus beef patty was a large portion & the black & white sesame seed bun was fluffy & airy. I’m glad I picked this burger, as it tasted great! Smashingly good! Service was great. I was the first customer of the day, so I had the undivided attention of the young woman working the register. The layout is a little funky, with the line starting by entering, then hanging a right into a U-turn to the cashier. The restaurant was clean & well-maintained. Parking is at the Buena Park Downtown Mall, with Smashburger located across Buffalo Wild Wings at the middle exterior of the mall on the La Palma Ave. side. With quality ingredients, creative Signature Smashburgers & booze for those that want a tipple, Smashburger offers good food for those looking for something to eat at the Buena Park Downtown Mall. I enjoyed my meal of the LA Signature Smashburger & fried garlic pickles. Lucky for me, I was given another free side with entrée purchase coupon. With that & having completed the receipt survey for free fries, you know I’ll be back for a smashing go with their burgers. Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

I’ll keep this brief– for $ 13, I could find a better burger and fries deal elsewhere. There was something oddly not fresh about the burger here… Maybe it was the cold bun that it came out with. The avocado here didn’t look fresh either but something you buy in buckets and scoop on top. And don’t get me started on the smash fries… A drizzle of olive oil would have been fine but these were coated in them. I probably won’t give it another try or at least this location? The workers did seem rather dreary though I did come about 1 hr before closing? Even then…

You know when I first Unilocaled this place and saw the low reviews I was very surprised, but then after seeing the service and quality, it deserves the low rating. The place was nice outside. Has outside seating, plenty of seating inside, serve alcohol, and the food came out faster than expected. There are some good benefits to eating here. If you take a survey, you’ll get a free fry. They also have this point system and it says get a free side but it only applies to the next time you come; they should have that on print next time. Well, I waited by the cashier line for about five minutes because the guy was trying to pass out food. Instead of the other cashier helping me out, she let everyone else go in front of me without putting me as priority. Horrible service. The guy apologized but it just wasn’t enough, I know he was probably overwhelmed but they need to find a better system of handling the cashier system and passing out good especially during busy hours. Yeah I was pretty pissed but hen I was happy with the free fry. The survey isn’t very long but it is inconvenient. The guy should’ve circle the website, circled the store number and receipt number so it would be more efficient and less time consuming. Got my bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg with no onion. Well, they didn’t put lettuce or tomato on as well. Wtf I only said I didn’t want onion. Whatever. The fries are ok and the burger was ok. The bathroom was not a mess but it needed to be picked up here and there. They don’t have a restroom checklist so I couldn’t see when was the last time they checked the bathroom. The sink water was either broken or something messed up because water would barely come out. I was not impressed with this place. Not sure if I’ll come back unless my friends recommend it again. If I don’t see any improvement the next time then I will be lowering my review.

The burgers are pretty good. The classic egg bun is soft which allows the flavors to come through. I would not recommend the smash fries because the oil makes them to wet. The service is not quite there yet. Our order was not correct. It will probably get better with time. Compared to other chains I would put Shake Shack, In n Out, Five Guys, and The Habit ahead of Smash Burger.
