Brent and his team did an excellent job on our new condo. We had a pretty comprehensive and complex installation, and they did a great job getting everything setup the way my wife and I wanted it. They completed the work in a timely manner and did a good job working with our budget.

Brent and team did an awesome job setting up my home theater. He came in, had a great plan, offered affordable options, and completed the project in a timely manner. On install day, there was a minor drywall accident that occurred while installing an in-​wall speaker. They brought it to my attention, owned it, and would not accept payment until a professional came out and repaired it 2 days later to my satisfaction. This was one, if not the best, contractor experience I have had. Hats off to Hooked Up Installs! I’ll be calling them back to install a few more toys down the road.

Hooked Up Installs are true professionals. We have used them for various projects over the past few years. Brent and his team are so knowledeable about all products and Brent provides great recommendations and gave us a great proposal with plenty of options that completely fit our needs and budget. They are very attentive when we have questions or need someone to stop by to take a look at a problem or issue. I will never work with any other company for my audio and visual needs.

This is something I have never experienced.
Brent, came by my home to give me a quote on the project. After carefully discussing the details he said he will email the proposal in a few days. Well a few days went by and I never received a proposal so I had called and brent he said its on its way. Guess what it never came.
As a company if you dont want to do the job dont string a customer along. Be forward and tell them you will not be able to complete the work specified and move on!

Brent and his team are awesome. Top notch. I am a very difficult client but he held in there and has become a friend. Constantly helping us make the right decisions about our systems. Available on email all the time. Just a great guy. And his team design a top notch system. He uses Élan. Just bought a new house with Crestron. Stay away. What a nightmare. Élan is so much easier and user friendly and doesn’t require you to go back with the same installer who milks you if you need even GE smallest chNge. Go Brent. Go Élan.

What a great company! My husband and I moved into a new home that did not have any cable or internet. Brent and his team were quick to respond to us, worked very hard while at the house and even came back to patch holes made in the wall! Highly recommend.

Great company to work with. We moved into a new house and wanted an integrated A/​V and home automation system. Brent was very patient and answered all my questions/​concerns, worked patiently through configuration details to get the user experience we wanted, and came back after the fact to fix a minor issue. Extremely professional and come with my highest recommendation. For us they did an Élan G automation system (security, garage, door, lighting, climate, media) along with Sonos zones. They also re-​purposed existing speakers where possible.

We used Hooked Up Installs for our new home in Roscoe Village. I had three companies come out to quote services for Home automation. everything from our lights, to our apple tv, audio, cameras, to our thermostat running on the Élan G system. Hooked Up Installs were the most transparent in pricing, discussing products, and providing me with the best information to make a decision that fit my budget. My system rocks — even my wife who is not into this sort of thing, loves it. We run everything we need from our smart phone or tablet. If I ever have questions or need to trouble shoot, they are very responsive getting back to me the same day. Very happy with the service.

I highly, highly recommend Hooked Up Installs. It’s clear that the customer is their priority. From the beginning of the sales process, to working within my budget, to answering any questions I had — to the quality of their work — they are fantastic and they stand by their work. They installed a speakers and a Sonos system throughout my new townhouse in November. I have been loving the system.
When summer hit and I was outside on my deck playing music, I noticed the speakers sounded funny. I email Brent, he responded promptly and came out a few days later. The problem was related to the wiring — it was my fault as I had move the units into a cabinet and had mixed up the wires. Brent identified the issue immediately and correctly wired the unit and everything sounds great again. He didn’t at all seem bothered by the fact that it was user error — and he really didnt need to come out.

We were in the process of building a house in Chicago, and Brent’s company was recommended to us by our builder. We met with Brent while the house is under construction and let him know exactly what we are looking for; Brent was able to provide the quote & proposal soon after. Brent did not try to over sell us like many other contractors/​companies out there, the proposal was carefully put together and planned to cater to our needs. Now the house is completed and we have been here for almost a year, my wife and I can not be happier with our A/​V, home automation system. I would say I am a computer/​electronics nerd, an early adopter in everything electronics related and constantly researching for new things online. I would consider myself a «difficult» client, because I constantly have questions regarding the latest technologies, and that translates to «many» emails to Brent asking random questions. Brent has always been patient, informative, and never takes more than a day to reply.
Brent and his team, specially Adam and Jimmy who are assigned to our house are friendly, professional, and are experts in their field. I would definitely recommend Hooked Up Installs to anyone, and will continue to leverage their services many years to come.

We used Brent and his team at Hooked Up to install a sonos wireless system throughout our house and set up our TV /​speakers. Brent was very patient working with me to adjust and prioritize the project to fit my budget. The install was extremely smooth and the team couldn’t have been more professional. We plan to use hooked up again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I’m a bit of an electronics geek — an early adopter in every sense of the word. Usually I’m the guy who ends up fixing other people’s AV system or computer when it won’t break. This is all to say I don’t impress easily when it comes to electronics. So please take that into consideration when I say again… these guys are pros!
When we bought our house, we had a big challenge about where the TV would go… and how to handle the wiring for my speakers… without making the family room and our wonderful stone fireplace look like a rustic radioshack. I contacted these guys and Brent, the owner met me at my house before I even moved in to check things out. After about 20 minutes of talking to me about what components I have, how I want to use the system and what concerns I have, Brent came up with a solution which covered everything. By everything, I mean making use of beautiful built-​in wood cabinets which were NOT made for modern electronics, a recessed swivel arm mount for the 54inch plasma TV to allow viewing from the family room or the kitchen and new in-​ceiling speakers.
On the day of the install, the guys from Hooked Up installs showed up and continued to conduct themselves as professionals. There was no random guy who reeked of Red Bull and the kind of sweat you only get from an all night gamer binge showing up and saying «Dude, I’m like, here to hook up your TV.» Instead, a professionally dressed project manager showed up with his team (similarly professionally dressed), introduced himself and walked us through what would be happening, step-​by-​step. The install team treated my house with the utmost care — they all removed their shoes or put on shoe covers when walking in my house (without being asked to do so) and covered every inch of their work area with drop cloths. They asked my permission to move my furniture rather than just doing it without asking. All-​in-​all, they treated my wife and I with respect and treated our furniture and electronics with the same respect.
Oh…and I’m completely satisfied with the quality of work they did. Everything works exactly like it was supposed to. I’ve since had them install a new remote control system which works perfectly. Like any other company dealing in electronics gear, sometimes software updates or random malfunctions will cause things to suddenly stop working as intended. This was the case with the remote control. Brent’s team helped to trouble shoot it over the phone and then sent someone out (no charge!) to fix it.
I have recommended them to friends and will use them again if I ever decide to build out the man-​cave in the basement.

My condo is outdated with thin walls, small closets and random wires– a combination not fit for a family with young boys. I desperately wanted to impress my hubby with a great surround sound system complete with central power controls for his «man cave”/ our living room.
After receiving quotes from 2 other home theater installation companies, I was weary about Hooked Up Installs until I talked to Brent on the phone. He assured me the speakers could be mounted so that there wasn’t reverberation on the other side of the wall. This was great and what made it better was the removal of extra wiring from previous owners. Everything is streamlined and clean and I was priced at an affordable rate!
I haven’t even mentioned the professionalism and genuine customer service. From start to finish, Brent has been personable and honest. The installers were efficient and on time. I was impressed with the skill and precision used.
This review was prompted because I received a «customer satisfaction» call this week. The job was completed roughly a month ago, but they were concerned how my husband was adjusting and if any «tweaks» were needed or if we had any questions. WOW!

These guys are great. Brent and his team provide great service and did ot try to oversell me on equipment. They were able to utilize some existing speakers I already had and quoted the project In a way that helped me decide what I wanted today and what I could wait for. I was able to stay within my budget and still get an excellent system. The team that installed the system throughout the house were professional, neat and knowledgeable. This was a definite upgrade in service and capability over Abt and others.

Brent from Hooked Up Installs did a great job installing the whole house sound system at my place in Roscoe Village. The customer service continues after the installation is done, as they are always responsive to secondary issues and questions.
I would use them again (if I move)

Had them hook up the exisitng surround sound wires that cam with my condo, including speakers on the deck with a separate volume control. Bought 5 speakers for hte living room, a receiver, and associated cabling, then 2 speakers on the deck as well. Arrived on time, and were very professional throughout the process. The system is great, and they were especially good about cleaning up after themselves during the install.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I bought a new home home theater system, and couldn’t figure out how to get the Blu Ray, the LCD TV, the Wii, and the Receiver all synched up.
Within five minutes (not kidding) after submitting my info, I got a call and made an appointment with Brent, the owner. We set a time for him to come over two days later.
They got here right on time, and got straight to unhooking my mess and getting it all reset up. After about 30 minutes, everything was working perfectly, even better than expected. I had to buy two cables from them — but didn’t mind, because they were way more reasonable than the retail cost.
AWESOME! When I do more work on my setup, I’ll definitely give them a call.
