From its inception in 1955, BryLin Hospital has been recognized as Western New York’s only private psychiatric and substance abuse treatment provider.
During the last fifty years our mental health care delivery system has been influenced by many factors that have shaped our present services. Changes in psychiatry and substance abuse care have been especially significant in recent years.

BryLin Hospital is a family owned business founded, in 1955, by Leonard Pleskow on the corner of Bryant & Linwood in the city of Buffalo. This is where the hospital name comes from, BryLin Hospital.
Leonard Pleskow’s son, Eric D. Pleskow is now President & CEO.
