Everything was amazing. I didn’t even take any pictures of the food because I was too busy enjoying everything from the wine to the cheese plate to moules Provencal with rosemary frites! A gem on Main Street. I can’t wait to go back and take friends and family.

This is one of my go to stops when I’m just not sure what I’m in the mood for. Great atmosphere and the service is always top notch. The menu is eclectic and here is something for everyone. Some of my favorite offerings are the mussels(prepared several ways; all delicious!), the lamb burger(perfectly seasoned every time), the pizza… yes that’s right pizza. The crust is homemade and it’s seriously some of the best pie I’ve had in Buffalo. The chicken caesar salad is also a winner(outstanding caesar dressing). There is also always a good selection of draft beers and wines available.

I was very excited to see a French restaurant in Buffalo. I went for s Christmas dinner with friends and found the décor and look of the restaurant just like sometime you would see in France. The menu isn’t really French but the food was amazing. The service was not that great but I didn’t let it ruin my night. If they train the waiters better it would be a five Unilocal star review.

I can’t believe it took me so long to get to Coco, even though it’s just a stones throw from home. First, the place is just beautiful. It’s cozy and décor is sharp, feels very warm and welcoming. Our server Jenni was fantastic. Not hovering but not a minute of wanting for anything. Both of us had Salade Lyonnaise, with frisée, lardon, some bacon and poached egg, which was sublime. Entrees were duck breast with wild rice and haricots vert, and prosciutto and pea pizza. Both were fantastic. We split a salted caramel mousse with raspberry coulée which was the best dessert I’ve eaten at restaurant in years. Easily the best meal I have had this year. Good cocktails and excellent beer and wine selections.

I came in after a long mentally exhausting day at work. I was greeted with warm smiles. And learned that there are great happy hour specials for drinks and apps. The bartender is blonde, beautiful, friendly, and a truly gifted artist. I learned she painted both murals in this chic little bistro. Great music played in the background. The chicken ceasar… so delicious! Chicken is freshly grilled. The dressing is definitely house made. A perfect balance of cheesy, lemony, anchovy flavor. The bread is really fresh and warm. The garlic spread that comes with it is to die for! I officially this place. Can’t wait to come back and try the moules!

Coco is a beautiful French restaurant with great food. The menu has appetizers, a daily chicken specialty, pasta, mussels, trout and sandwiches. They also have a great selection of red pizza and white pizza. My favorite meal is definitely the pea & prosciutto white pizza. It’s phenomenal! I’ve also heard that the Thai Curry Mussels and Gorgonzola Trout are very good. Coco’s French cheese plate with sliced green apples is delicious! They were out of cheese the last time I went and I was so sad about it. We ordered the charcuterie board instead, which was good, but nothing compares to the cheese plate. In addition to great dinners, Coco’s desserts are some of the best in Buffalo! They are made right at the restaurant. My favorites are the Malva Pudding and the Salted Caramel Mousse. My mom ordered the Bleu Cheesecake last time and it was unbelievable. The purple dining room is decorated with French art and pretty lights. Its charming and unique atmosphere make it a great option for a date night or dinner party!

The Thai curry mussels were really good. I found the rosemary frites to be good but not out of this world delicious. Wine list was short but probably something for everyone. We ate on the patio on a hot night — super relaxing. Our waitress was very nice, but when she offered dessert, she didn’t actually know what they had. But she was really sweet and wrote up the menu for us after she found out.(And then after all that, we didn’t actually get anything… Oops…) I’d definitely come back and have another laid back, late evening meal.

Went here for a girls dinner to catch up with some friends from high school. Started off with a few happy hour glasses of wine. Small selection but I liked what I had and it was only $ 4 a glass which is a steal. We ate out on the patio which is pretty and provides a good amount of space. They served each person 2 slices of French bread that came with a white bean purée of some sort. I’m not a huge bean lover but this dip/purée was awesome. We ordered the cheese plate an an appetizer($ 15) and it was so small it was comical. 4 tiny pieces of cheese with 1 strawberry and a few super thin apples slices and walnuts. There were for of us and there was no way we could have split these cheese pieces into 4 so we could each try it– I’m talking small! A little ridiculous for the price. I ordered the mussels($ 16 I think) and it seemed to be a large part of the menu and I assumed that’s what they were known for. I got the first one on the list that had garlic, white wine & thyme in the broth(the name escapes me). It was terrible. Not bad tasting but NO taste at all. It was like the mussels were in a cold onion water. I’ve had plenty of pots of mussels and I have to say this was the worst. Usually the broth is half the fun! I was so disappointed. Had a great chocolate silk pie for dessert that came with some fruit sauce on the top. Both were great and super creamy. This place seemed to have really great things and then really bad things so I gave it a 3. They just need to be more consistent with all their dishes and I could be great.

I’ve been visiting Buffalo over the past 10 years, and I have to say that Coco takes the top notch of best dining experiences. The ambiance of the establishment was endearing: the interior has an old fashioned Parisian Gothic flare that makes you feel like you are sitting in a café off the Champs Elysee’s. The wall proverbs and art décor were pleasant to look at, especially accommodated with light french jazz music. The outdoor patio lined with the wine glass lighting was such a cute and clever idea. I only had the opportunity to see the back in the daytime, and can only imagine how beautiful it must look at night. First night back in Buffalo I will be scheduling a dinner reservation out there. I came in for lunch and honestly could not choose between all the amazing entrees. Everything sounded so delicious. I’ve been told by other frequent visitors that the seafood is one of the most popular dishes to order, so next time I can’t wait to try that! I ended up choosing a Turkey baguette with spicy mayo and the Rosemary Fries. The fries were probably the best fries I have ever had. I would highly recommend anyone to order them as a side, even if they order a salad(Who can turn down fries? And especially after eating Coco’s, no one will have the capability to resist them). Caitlyn & Jenni were the bartender/servers at the time, and they both displayed professional attentiveness with all their customers, They were the utmost pleasant, friendly, and warmest servers I have ever had the pleasure to experience. Caitlyn & Jenni were kind, articulated, attentive to their customers and the daily specials, while being engaging and responsive to my questions and concerns. They communicated clearly and were very knowledgeable of all the food and cocktails(Cait and Jenni even went through the entire menu with me thoroughly and gave amazing recommendations to what food to try). I applaud Caitlyn and Jenni for making my time at Coco enjoyable and satisfying. I also praise the chef for the delicious meal he prepared! I loved the food and the servers so much, I came back a few hours later for happy hour and ordered a Rosemary water cocktail with a veggie pizza appetizer. When I tell people back in NYC of where to go eat when visiting Buffalo, my first choice will no longer be to go to Duffs, Anchor Bar, or any of the go-to popular restaurant establishments. My first recommendation for dining in Buffalo will be Coco’s. Counting down the days until I’m back in town, ready to try another delectable meal! Thanks again for the great experience!

Went to Coco for Mother’s Day dinner with a party of 5. We opted to sit in the patio area. The interior and exterior of Coco are both beautiful so it doesn’t really matter where you choose to sit. They were able to promptly accommodate us inside of the restaurant once it started down-pouring. We each had salads and split an order of the Portuguese mussels. While the mussels were excellent, we wished we had picked a different preparation style. We found the chorizo to be slightly overwhelming. The Rosemary frites the mussels came with were great, especially with their dipping sauce. Also, keep in mind you get a TON of mussels in a pot so it might be best to split them. We each ordered a different entrée. Three of five still tasted good but seemed to be slightly underwhelming. I had the sea scallop entrée which came with fingerling potatoes and green beans. While I thought the scallops were cooked to perfection, the potatoes and the sauce the entrée came with were a bit of a miss. Another entrée ordered was the trout with Gorgonzola cream sauce. We thought the sauce was too mild and didn’t really have any Gorgonzola flavor. We also had the butternut squash pasta special which also wasn’t anything special. The two entrees that really stuck out were the steak frites served with more Rosemary frites and the pork porterhouse served with a risotto. The risotto was on the sweeter side and paired nicely with the pork. Overall, I would recommend Coco because the dishes that were good, were incredible.

Loved it! First off, this establishment looks awesome. The exterior and interior both are beautiful so it’s wonderful for a date night. I went here for Local Restaurant Week following on the heels of their Vegan Prix Fixe dinner. For a full review, you can see it at , but in short, the food was excellent, the server was pleasant, and I seriously can’t wait to go back! Coco also has events planned every so often. Another vegan dinner is coming up, but it looks like they’re offering the same entrée they did for Local Restaurant Week. While I definitely enjoyed it, I don’t think I’ll make this one. However, if you missed the quinoa crusted butternut squash during LWR I highly recommend trying it at the Vegan Prix Fixe coming up! It was really good! I’m looking forward to going back and trying a few of their dishes on their regular menu. It looks amazing and I had a great time that I’d certainly return several times over in order to try everything I can.

Just rating this on bar atmosphere as we were only there for drinks. Based on that experience and the other wonderful reviews I would head back for Dinner or Lunch as well. Stopped in Saturday night with a group of people. The atmosphere is definitely upscale but still retaining a bit of a cool, chic, hipsteresque feel. Somewhat darkly lit provided for a nice laid-back atmosphere. The beer selection on draft was top notch craft beer and the while I didn’t have any, the martini’s were supposedly excellent as per other group members. The bartender was really nice and kept up with conversations in the group making us feel like regulars. All in all a nice time that would have me easily go back.

I’ve visited Coco on several occasions. I’m always very impressed with the warm, inviting feel of the space and the classy-yet-quirky décor. The place just has a great feel and I’ve always found the service to be top-notch. The bartenders especially have impressed me as being super friendly(in a good way) and efficient. They always have solid cocktail and wine recommendations, as well. I’m also a fan of their menu, which is interesting and reasonably diverse – with some nice options for vegetarians. However, we’ve had enough hiccups on the food over the course of our visits that I have to knock a star off. It’s really good, but not quite perfect. One one visit, my husband received undercooked fish(still translucent in the center). On another, everything just seemed over-salted. Most recently, I attended their 5-course vegan dinner($ 35). I was so excited about this meal – and thrilled to discover it sold out! By and large, I loved the food – great flavors, inventive ingredients, really well-conceived overall, and a terrific choice for the organic red wine(LOVED it!). However, a little problem: almost none of the food made it to our table hot. We made the server aware of the problem and she offered to microwave the food. .. but that didn’t sound too appealing, so we ate most of our courses at room temp. Again, really good, but not perfect. All of that said, I would never hesitate to plan a meal here or to recommend it to friends. The good experiences have far outpaced the somewhat off ones.

I hate going out to restaurants on holidays. They’re packed, they’re noisy, the service is often rushed, and somehow the food doesn’t taste as good as it usually would. But I LOVE celebrating holidays a couple of days early… so my «main squeeze»(giggle) and I went out for Valentine’s Day last night. We were greeted warmly… there wasn’t a huge crowd… and(bonus!) we learned that on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings there’s a $ 25 three course prix fix menu. The décor is as warm and welcoming as the staff… and the menu is wonderful(as is the wine list). Lots of choices of appetizers and salads, and«moules»(those are mussels) prepared all different ways, entrees, and even pizzas. We decided that we would start with a couple of cocktails and appetizers while we perused the prix fix menu(which changes weekly). The«Hickory Smoked Shrimp»(four over fresh corn and red pepper humita with bourbon bbq sauce) were delicious… but we loved the«Sweet Pea and Risotto Arancini»(a special of the evening) even more. They were the perfect balance of toothsome-ness and tenderness… and the flavors of the rice and peas and creamy cheese were like a hug in my mouth. The prix fix dinners included three courses… starter, entrée, and dessert. My boyfriend had moules(buffalo style), salmon over sweet pea risotto with asparagus, and«pudding» for dessert. I had a caeser salad, chicken pot pie, and sponge candy ice cream with chocolate sauce for dessert. Of course we shared tastes of each other’s meals. Yummy French bread was served with a white bean dip. That dip was tasty and surprisingly light. Everything was absolutely amazing! The portions were huge(I had to take more than half of my chicken pot pie home). The presentations were artful… so much so that I had to pull out my phone to snap a couple of photos of our entrees. I really don’t know what was my favorite item of the evening… everything was just perfect. And, our delightful server, Jennie, told us about the lovely patio for summer al fresco dining. «Coco» may just be our«new» favorite restaurant. Happy Valentine’s Day to us!

This was my 4th or 5th visit to Coco since they opened, and I’m happy to endorse it as a quality meal with a thoughtful, fresh menu. While I’m not quite sure exactly what cuisine they try to target(some Italian, some French, and… Vietnamese?!), they do it well and there is something for everyone. This past week, we had an early dinner which was actually the lunch menu, since dinner doesn’t technically start until 5pm. There were plenty of salad options, sandwiches, and pizzas to keep the whole table happy, and the meals themselves were a fair portion for the price. In hindsight, I wish I ordered the lamb burger rather than the regular one, but it was still tasty. The salads were yummy, and would definitely be enough for a dinner if you are a light eater. The ambiance is really Coco’s best feature, as it makes you feel as if you are somewhere special: exposed brick, light strands, chalkboard, and rustic furniture added with some early 1900s French art posters. The bar is well-stocked, and features a great tap list. I’ve always been quite happy with the beer offerings when dining here. Overall, it’s a great value without being upscale, and the perfect place for date-night or taking visitors from out of town. I wouldn’t really recommend it for kids

I’ve been having my book club here for the past few months and the feedback has been universally positive. They have a ‘community table’ that is designed for a large group with little drawers that always have some fun new surprise inside; it makes Coco an awesome spot to gather with a group of people. One thing that is a little odd is how we come the same day of the week at the same time every month but the occupancy and noise level vary wildly. The wine list is decent, and the food is very good. I’ve not ever had a proper sit-down dinner, but I’ve tried a variety of one-off dishes and everything has been excellent. There was an eggplant appetizer special one night that I’ve longed to see on the menu again, because it was so delicious. Pizzas are an obvious choice, tasty and just a little too big for one person so there’s enough to share a slice or take home for lunch the following day. Desserts are awesome. The first time we came one of our party had a sundae that was served in an actual flower pot with a brownie ‘dirt’ layer, and those little touches really make it shine. The thing that pushes Coco into the five star range is the service. Everyone I’ve encountered has been incredibly friendly and helpful, and although I know from waitressing experience how painful it is to have a huge table of separate checks, they have never so much as batted an eye at the request. Service is attentive but never rushed, and the whole experience takes me out of Buffalo with memories of relaxing, lingering dining in Europe.

When I first wrote my reviews for this restaurant, I had only experienced their delicious catering at my office. Since that time, I have dined in the restaurant, on the patio and at the bar dozens of times. I can now officially say that this is my #1 favorite restaurant in Buffalo. What makes this place so great is not only the inventiveness and quality of the food, but the consistency. If you order a menu item one night, it will taste exactly the same the next time you order it. Everything on the menu is unbelievable. You can split a delicious artisan-style pizza, or some mussels, or get a fresh salad with lots of different toppings, or order off their special menu. The specials rotate and often sell out by the end of the night because they are so good. On one occasion I had the sesame crusted tuna special and I think I will dream about that entrée for a long time to come. Great beer and wine selection, friendly and professional servers, and bartenders that will remember you when you return. I can’t speak highly enough and will continue to recommend this gem to everyone I know.

Coco is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I love to cozy up to the bar for dinner on a weeknight or for drinks on the weekend. They always have a decent beer selection as well as noteworthy wine and cocktail lists. The menu is varied and has something for every mood. I have yet to try their prix fix options but have heard good things. My date and I usually split a few items for dinner. Some highlights have been the pizzas(even the simple margherita), rosemary frites, massaged kale salad, and any risotto special. Everyone in Buffalo seemed to be raving about Coco’s flower-shaped dessert after the most recent Restaurant Week, but sadly I have yet to try it. The bartenders and servers help make Coco a great destination for dinner or drinks. The atmosphere inside and out is classy yet comfortable and welcoming.
