One of our favorite go to places. Everything we have had has been yummy. Never disappointed. Consistent. Finally trying other things on menu as always get same things as like it and don’t get passed it. Will definitely be back. Usually get to go but have eaten in too.

Absolutely disgusting. I order shrimp with lobster sauce. It was shrimp cover in some type of barbecue sauce, and smothered, and I mean smothered in broccoli. This is the worst Chinese Restaurant in Western NY.

Full disclosure — we came here only because of Unilocal reviews and feedback. Lovely interior. They have done a great job with it. Lots of tables and booths both. Comfort for all. Music playing that wasn’t too loud and was really quite pleasant. I went in to do takeout. I had wanted to order ahead but struggled with finding the menu easily legible on their website. So in I went. They have a ton of menus available on the counter, and it’s easy to read. There is also a board with specials posted on the counter. Check that board. We had a pineapple chicken and Szechuan beef. Both came with white rice. Generous portions of all. I didn’t notice if brown was available as a sub and the guy taking my order didn’t mention it. I did notice afterwards on the takeout menu that brown rice is $ 2.50 a pint and $ 4.50 a quart. Our bill was $ 25 and change. Not sure about the pricing. Felt a little expensive to me. That and the general disinterest of the man taking my order brought it to 4 stars, instead of the 5 I see from some other trusted Unilocalers. They take all credit and parking is easy. I wish this place well. I would come back if we wanted Chinese takeout again, but Ming is closer and if I’m going to pay that much I might go there if it’s open(always a question).

This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in this town. I had a wonderful experience here. Great authentic Chinese food, nice atmosphere and great service as well. I definitely will recommend this place to all my friends. Lots of my American friends also liked here. They also told me that they have Cantonese style and sichuan style food.

My nephew graduated from UB a few days ago. So we made reservations to eat here after the ceremony. It was empty when we walked in around 4:30pm. We were given a private room that just barely fitted all 11 of us. 2 tablets were on the dining table for us to order. My sister picked out dim sum items, vegetables, meats, seafood, and rice. After sitting down for about 10 minutes, we all looked at each other awkwardly. No one came to check up on us, no one came to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. So I walked out the room and waived down the 3 workers that were sitting down chatting amongst themselves. One guy finally got up to bring us tea. He also tells us that they don’t have dim sum. WOMP. WOMP. .so why have it on the menu??? So we ordered a few random dishes(see photos). Our food comes out fairly quick within 10 – 15 minutes. Every dish was generally okay, except the eggplant one. That was not tasty at all… what a waste of space in my tummy! After the food came out, the next and last time I saw the waiter was when the check came… Mediocre food. Medium prices. Poor service. Three stars at most…

Great selection of authentic Chinese food(especially fish!) and American style Chinese for the members of your group that are a little less adventurous. Again, the fish is fantastic, and we always get the eggplant chicken. The dumplings won’t disappoint and their rice and noodle dishes are excellent. Also, the 麻辣(numbing spice) here is really authentic if you’re looking to try something different. If you’re not Chinese you might be the only one in the restaurant, but the staff is friendly and eager to help. The menu is on ipads so you can keep the food coming, but the portions won’t ever leave you feeling cheated. For my wife’s birthday this year, we rented out their back room and ordered ridiculous amounts of food for the whole group. Despite everyone gorging ourselves, the tab was still very modest. Would highly recommend if you need a fun group meeting, and the staff can recommend great family style orders. We’ve only made it out to their weekend dimsum once, but it was delicious. We are trying to go back for their Wednesday ½ off lunch special, but haven’t made it yet. Overall we’ve come here at least a dozen times over the last few years with many friends and will keep coming back. It’s such a convenient location and an easy walk from UB South. Give it a try and I’m sure you’ll be coming back like us!

Best Asian Cuisine I’ve had since moving to Buffalo. Food is just amazing. My boyfriend and I go \for the dim sum for the past 5 weekends. I’ve had the hot and sour soup, pork bun, pork and crab dumpling, spicy pork bibimbap, wonton soup, spring rolls, sauteed cabbage with hot sauce, beef pad see iew(like street noodles), the list goes one. I have never been disappointed with the food. I love that you place your order on an ipad and can see pictures of everything. They do have«american Asian cuisine» however we go for the more authentic dishes. The waitstaff is very helpful and answered all my questions. It is usually quiet when go for a later lunch. We have gotten take out as well and it was just as good. I hope this place staying open. I love the authentic flavors and having the opportunity to try new things.

I’m upset there’s always no one at this place! I really hope they stay in business because it’s real authentic Chinese food located right next to UB. Extremely convenient for the students. The quality and flavor of their food deserves everyone’s appraisal. It isn’t cheap but hey, we get what we pay for right? Definitely check this place out if you’re in the neighborhood! It’s also beautifully decorated inside. Great quiet dine in for dates. Anyways, I ordered fish and tofu again. Just as great as I remembered it. Also had the spicy tripe today. It looks extremely spicy but it is not. It’s the perfect amount of spice so your tastebuds are still intact. Looking forward to trying others off their menu! They offer a variety of different dishes along with the«American Chinese» dishes. *Update! Had beef chow fun and fried jumbo shrimp with sweet creamy sauce! It is DELICIOUS! Do yourself a favor and order either one or both!!! Definitely two of my favorite foods.*

When I arrived it was pretty empty but the place was warm and nicely decorated. The waitress was attentive and ordering was done via an app on an iPad. It was nice being able to see pictures of every dish. I ordered the szechuan wonton appetizer and szechuan tofu fish casserole. The wontons were very delicious with the skin not being too thick and cooked to perfection. The skin was not the many type you often find in wonton soup and had a nice bite to it. The casserole was similarly well prepared with a good quantity. There was a subtle ma-la spice to it with the signature tingling you find in good szechuan dishes. In total the meal was $ 20 before tip worth generous amounts of leftovers. It was very authentic and I enjoyed all the food served. I can’t wait to come back as they have weekend dim sum with soup dumplings on the menu!

Nice place with wonderful decorations and fitments, also it is close to UB south which provides students a good option for a meal. Besides its quick and nice food service, the food is undoubtedly delicious, worth to visit and sit down for a meal.

This restaurant is the successor to Uncle Johns #1, a quintessential Chinese take out place. I had tried take out here in the past & it was just okay, so when I heard that the owners had revamped it into a sit-down restaurant(they still do take out), I wasn’t that excited. Recent visit for lunch was very promising though — good food served quickly. Hot and sour soup was nice and spicy. The beef was perfectly cooked & nicely seasoned. Ordering is done off a tablet — nice and fairly easy to navigate, but I could see where this could be a bit of a pain with even 3 – 4 people since it also doubles as a menu, 1 per table. Maybe not that big of a problem given the size of the place(12 tables max). Unless there’s another section I missed, largest table would seat 4 or 5. This restaurant gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, decent Chinese will take root in Buffalo(by decent I mean authentic & by authentic I mean comparable to what I’ve had in China).

FINALLY. An eat in Chinese restaurant with delicious food. Started with the Thai Springroll(cold). It tasted so fresh. Then Steamed chicken dumplings that were made with a light airy dough. On to Pork Ribs with Black Bean Sauce. Melt in your mouth. The sauce contained a lovely dash of spices, not heavy at all. Also had Stir Fried Shanghai Pak-Choy. The vegetables were tender-crisp, and the garlic sauce didn’t make you feel like you had to run and brush your teeth. Great menu, Dimsum on the weekend. MMMMMM
