I always come to Leon’s to get my hair done. But the past few times I made an appointment I felt like the stylist was rushing to cut and dry my hair and i didn’t have that I feel like a million bucks feeling. Yesterday I walked in and a stylist named Cheryl did my hair and it looks and feels amazing! She took her time. I got around 3 inches off which was her suggestion to take off my dead ends and I really needed it. I love my long hair and am usually hesitant to have that much cut off but I went for it. I also got a moisturizing treatment on my hair. The prices are great and she gave me a nice blowout at the end. Will definitely be coming back to her. My hair feels so much lighter and healthier!

I have been going to Leon’s for about 6 months and Katie is a great stylist. She is always ready for me when I arrive and is always in a great mood! She is very knowledgable with color and my highlights turn out perfect everytime. The other stylists are friendly and it’s a very comfortable atmosphere. I would recommend trying them and you won’t be disappointed!

They were very rushed and hard on my scalp and i don’t have a sensitive head. I thought they were friendly but she did the fastest and easiest thing I was asking for and the highlights have spots and blotches all over my head. They said they did highlights without foil (balayage) when I made the appointment but when I got there they said they only use foil. It was very inexpensive but most of my highlights look like they were done by a young inexperienced student and she said she’s worked there for 5 years. I had to get my hair majorly fixed.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT GET SHERYL TO CUT YOUR HAIR! HORRIBLE! SHE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO CUT HAIR AND SHE’S AGGRESSIVE! she kept pulling my hair with a hair brush and when she wash my hair she basically scratch me so hard i have to tell her it hurts! the hair cut she gave me was horrible as my mom described «your hair got bitten by a dog!!!» i wanted a straight bob hair but and she keep straighten my hair with a straightener when she’s cutting my hair to make her life easier! but i don’t normally straighten my hair so after a wash my hair is uneven!!! I HATE SHERYL I HATE HER AND I HATE THE HAIR CUT SHE’S RUIN MY LIFE FOR COUPLES MONTHS UNTIL I HAIR GROWS BACK!

After reading all the wonderful reviews from Leon, I called to make an appointment and was booked on the same day. Unfortunately I never seem to have GREAT experiences with salons.
Christopher helped wash and cut my hair (I would style but it was basically a blow dry.) The session was the fastest hair session I ever experienced. Washing my hair was around less than a song length (music was playing), but it didn’t feel like a clean wash, just smothered my head with shampoo and conditioner.
As with any other female, our hair is very precious to us. I wanted to get rid of split ends and fix up my layers. Christopher (though he was very nice) spent less than 15 minutes on my hair (total including ‘styling’). He didn’t section my hair to cut my layers, but just took combed sections and layered my hair.
Came out with the same exact hairstyle, just a barely noticeable shorter. If youre on a budget, they have a student discount for $ 20.

I’ve came here for a haircut before for $ 20. It was decent. They did exactly what I asked for.
I’m mainly writing this review for the highlights I’ve done on my hair. I love it! I don’t remember her name but she had blonde hair and black rimmed glasses. I love that she took her time to help me make a decision. She wasn’t pushing me towards the more expensive services, but instead suggested me to do less because it can damage my hair quite a bit. I appreciated that since I told her I was upset my hair is so short and I wanted to grow it out. She also explained all the pricing before she started. The salons I’ve been to never discussed that with me. I always ended up paying for services I never asked for.
All in all, I like the place and will keep going back. Everyone was very friendly and always offered coffee or tea when I’m waiting.

Have been to Leon’s ever since I started college at UB. They have the student price for 20 dollars, which is great. They are consistently good, and do not charge extra for long hair which most other places do.

I can be very particular of who cuts my hair, especially because «asian» hair texture can be a little different. I came here on a recommendation from my friend, Kushol H., after she had some red tips done on her dark brown hair a year ago and it looked so great on her!
My go-​to stylist here is Dee, and she is phenomenal. I have gotten my hair cut, dyed and highlighted here numerous times, and my hair turns out exactly how I wanted it too, if not better. I have brought in pictures to show Dee, and she will be frank on what is feasible and will keep my hair healthy, too, and I have gotten so many compliments on my hair after my last ombré/​balayage. Also the color never washed out or turned orange like how it can to other ombres (and I was very grateful for that, too, haha).
I have always asked for Dee, and although I have not had my hair cut by any of the other stylists, they are all amazing and so fun to be around. They also give superb head massages when they’re washing your hair so it really gives you that relaxing spa experience! Everyone is professional and sociable, and they offer you tea or coffee and magazines.
Only setback is that they take appointments only, and they can only be made the day of so call first thing before they open (check their website). It’s totally worth it though! Oh, and they do student discounts, too. If you’re not a student, the prices are still within a budgeter’s range, in comparison to other high end salons, but you’re getting great quality and amazing service.

I moved to Buffalo a little over one year ago and was in a panic to discover a new hair salon because I was loyal to my salon in Ohio. I found Leon’s and now I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Everyone there is friendly and incredibly talented! I have had my hair colored there 3 times now and I’m so impressed every time. They can take a picture or a vague description and interpret into something perfect for you. They only take same day appointments which I like, if you need a last minute appointment or are just impulsive (like me). You can’t go wrong going to this salon. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about it and the entire staff.

Love it here! I have never had a bad experience here! I’ve seen other before at the main st location but now I’ve been sticking with Katie at Maple and she is awesome… she really takes her time and gets it just how I want it! I know I can trust her opinion too! Glad to finally find someone I can stick with and be happy! She makes me a beautiful blonde every time and does great cuts! Walk out of their getting compliments all the time!

I’m new to the area and found this on Unilocal,so I checked it out. I called to set up an appointment and they were able to take me within an hour. The staff is very friendly, good at what they do, and the pricing is very reasonable. Needless to say I found my new hair salon.

I’ve been going to LSO for many years now and the staff there is just top notch. I go back and forth between the Main Street and Maple locations and they are yet to disappoint.
Whether it is Nick at the Main Street store who greets you with a pleasant hello to the stylists Christopher, Lisa, or Rachel you just can’t go wrong. A great cut every time at an affordable price.
I would recommend Leon’s to anyone in need of a great cut from a friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Really nice service, I got a student cut for $ 20 which included a wash, cut, and style afterward. I have really thick hair and I wanted to really thin it out for the summer and the girl did an ok job of the that. She really didn’t want to take off more even though I think more would have been better, that’s why 4 stars and not 5. The style looks nice but my hair is really heavy and would have liked more of it cut. For the price, can’t beat it.

I have a hard time trusting hair salons. Having moved from Rochester, I decided that I can no longer take the hour drive there just to visit my stylist. So I dumped her and started the search to find a great Buffalo salon.
A friend told me to try Leon Salon and now that’s the only place I will go. I have never left upset. They always nail the color I want… I was going blonde for a long time and then randomly changed to brunette and they never disappoint.
The prices are very fair (actually I would probably pay more for the service but don’t tell the studio that…) I love the way they take «day-​of» appointments, becuase I usually wake up in the morning and decide «today I’m going to get my hair cut/​colored.» Also, it doesn’t take a long time for waiting, I’m usually in and out.
I recommend this salon to anyone looking for a new place. I’ve always had a great experience!

Getting my hair cut can be frustrating. Oftentimes, I don’t know what I want. I don’t know what looks sexy on me. I like it when a hair-​stylist appreciates that and is able to confidently tell me: ‘Yes, I get your hair! I know what to do!” That sets me at ease. Instead, when they give me a puzzled look and say: ‘uh, you mean you don’t know what length you want your hair to be?’ I can begin to feel a little frazzled. Will my girlfriend suddenly fall out of love with me? Will I be ugly for the next month? Will no one talk to me at parties anymore? It may seem like an exaggeration, but my mind likes to run with these things.
So, when I met Natalia at this Studio, I was delighted. She gets hair. She sees her job as an art form and herself as an artist. That’s A-​OK with me. Take ownership of your art! Make my hair your canvas and as long as you know what you’re doing, I’m totally cool with it. After all, you’re a sexy lady so if you can mold my hair in a way that makes other sexy ladies take notice; what else can I really ask for?
Since that day when I met her (over a year ago), I’ve come back every month. She takes her time with my hair, it never feels rushed to me (even when she’s juggling multiple customers), and I’ve been complimented on the result countless times. When I’m interested in experimenting with something new, I can show her a new hairstyle and she runs with it.
Despite her professional demeanor, she’s also super friendly and when she talks to me I feel as if she’s genuinely interested in what’s going on with my life and is not just ‘going through the motions’. I’ve come in multiple times when I didn’t really feel like talking (one of those days), but she’s just able to encourage me to open up and I’ve felt much better leaving afterward. Therapist and hair stylist? Pretty awesome!
Natalia is an angel. Professional, artistic and even a therapist with her genuineness. The few times she’s been on vacation, it kinda killed me. Her hair styling skills are incredible… she’s a self-​proclaimed artist and I’m 100% subscribed.

I’m dedicated to my stylist, but occasionally we have to part ways (ex: she has a baby, goes on vacation, etc.) In those times when I need a substitute, I always go to this location. The staff is super friendly and attentive to your needs. I have naturally curly hair and it’s important that the person cutting my hair understands what that means. I’ve never left Leon’s with anything but a smile on my face followed by days of compliments from friends, family, and even strangers. They do hair and they do it well!
Pros: same day appointments, great service, awesome haircut
Cons: a bit pricy for just a cut ($ 35)*
*Note: There is a student discount, so if you are a student, don’t be turned off by the price. Student cuts are $ 18. (That’s crazy good!)
