They fixed my headache of a car yet again. I dropped it off at 9:30am & Rashid (the owner) texted me when they were done it was that simple. He gave me a nice discount because one of my belts only needed to be tightened, so their a pretty honest shop.

I’ve been trying to take care of my check engine/​vsc warning light for about 2 months. I took my Toyota Avalon with 147k miles to several places and a few places tried for valiantly but was unsuccessful. It took the better part of a week but Rasheed/​Hector and the crew fixed it! The car got some new bushings and stabilizer bars and now drives like a dream. Falling in love with my 2001 «Plain Lexus» once again thanks to Max. It’s the first time I’ve been there but it won’t be the last.

I just moved to the area and needed to find a place to get my brakes fixed. I found this place by reading other Unilocal reviews and was very satisfied with my service. I was worried that I might get ripped off because I don’t know anything about cars but they gave me a great deal and I had my car back by the afternoon. I verified the cost with my friend’s brother who is a mechanic. Everyone was very friendly and my brakes are completely fine now. The rotor and brake pads had to be replaced and they did a great job. I would definitely go back there if I needed anything in the future.

After 2 weeks of trying to find somewhere to take my car that wouldn’t start. I called Max Auto Service, had my car towed there and in one day they figured out I needed a new starter. Service plus the new part cost about $ 297 plus tax. I finally have my car back thanks to them!

Found Max through Unilocal and now returning the favor to Unilocal with an update. I had my vehicle towed here and they looked at it and responded with an estimate within hours. The estimate was much lower than I expected, so I was skeptical at first. They made the repair for just slightly over estimate, but certainly still very reasonable. Max is fair, quick and does good work. I’ve had the vehicle back for two weeks since and no problems at all. My truck was ready for pickup within 24 hours. Very happy with this service and given my truck has more rust than metal, I’m sure to see him again.

This place is certainly no frill, but I went to them for a service that could have been extremely expensive had they not given me parts at cost and service at a reasonable price. The owner and manager was even kind enough to give me a ride to work down the street. I’d highly recommend max auto services to anyone who just needs honest labor.

I came here for the first time last year to replace my rear window motor regulator. Firestone’s estimate was close to $ 400. Rashid (the owner) did a great job, and charged less than half of the Firestone’s quote. I recently came here again to replace my brake rotor/​pads, and brake lines. I paid and dropped off my car. When I came back in a few hours to pick up my car, Rashid told me that he refunded $ 230 because my brake lines were good. I am very satisfied with the quality of his works, and I think I finally found a reliable and honest auto mechanic that I can confidently recommend to my friends and family.

After receiving outrageous estimates for brake replacements from several shops around Buffalo, I called Max Auto Service and they made my day!
Casullo’s inspected my brake system and determined I needed pads & rotors replaced for both axles. Their estimate? A total of nearly $ 800! Little did they know, I had already called various auto parts stores ahead of time & priced the items myself– about $ 115-​$ 120 per axle. I’m well-​aware of the ways repair shops attempt to manipulate women into spending more (because we’re idiots, you know… We know nothing.)
Anyway– after receiving similar estimates from other shops around the area, I called Max Auto Service and left a message with a worker for my quote-​request. An hour later, I received a call from the owner & nearly shouted with joy at his quote. He was extremely nice & helpful. (He even said, «I know other shops around here try to charge $ 200-​$ 300 just for labor.» Tip: It does NOT take several hours to change brakes and you definitely should not be paying for several hours of labor.)
I made an appointment, dropped my car off, and picked it up within a couple of hours. Yes, the shop is a little rough around the edges but those are sometimes the most reliable ones. :)
I paid $ 378 total for front/​rear replacement at Max Auto! ($ 169/​$ 179 per axle included labor & parts + tax) More than half off of Casullo’s estimate!
My brakes are working like a charm and I now have my new local shop! I’d say that’s a win-​win situation. :)

Our van broke down when our band was on tour. Max fixed it & got it running, like he promised, and he did it for UNDER the quoted amount. He only fixed what we had talked about before hand (except he ended up replacing our air filter, but didn’t charge us for it).
Honest, reliable, sweet & relatable customer service, I definitely recommend Max Auto to anyone with car trouble in Buffalo.

Went in for a NYS Inspection and was failed for a 3^rd tail light being out. That, however, is NOT why Max Auto deserves one star.
When they explained to me that my 3^rd tail light was out, the mechanic had removed the tail light (without my consent) and explained to me that it was a Honda part obtained only from a dealership.
I know how to replace my own tail light and so I ordered the part online and replaced it myself. However, when I went to open the back shelf panel that houses the tail light, there were deep marks around the center speaker portion from a screwdriver. Apparently, the mechanic (having no clue as to how to open the back panel properly) tried to pry it up in the wrong place!
When I removed the entire cover, the teeth that snap into the back frame were completely damaged. In a Honda, you push against the panel and then slide up but the mechanic just yanked the thing out — screws and all. To this day, I can’t even get my back panel to snap in properly because the teeth are damaged.
After going back and explaining this to Max, he blamed me, saying that maybe I did the damage. Fair enough, since I didn’t catch it the first time I left his garage, but I know how to fix my car and why would I damage MY OWN CAR?! The only thing I can’t do with a car is my own NYS inspections, so I’m not an amateur.
As a show of good will, he gave me the return inspection, so I have no issues with his means of doing business (all cash, btw). However, watch your car when you take it in and don’t trust his mechanics. Insist that they remove nothing until they physically SHOW you what needs to be replaced and if they must removed it, they should do it in front of you. It sounds paranoid, but if a 3^rd tail light for a Honda Civic costs $ 52 on average, then imagine how much a panel or larger part would cost just for some one’s negligence?!
In fact, just save yourself the trouble and either go the dealer (ESPECIALLY if you have an import) or, if a minor repair, do it yourself.
