Specialties
Since opening in 1956, Mike’s Subs has been serving Western New York the best subs in town! Our Special Oil has been a customer favorite since the beginning. In fact this unique creamy condiment was the only dressing available on our subs for the first 15 years! Another specialty of Mike’s is our Crushed Hot Peppers. These are made in the store weekly and if you’ve never tried them, stop in and see what you’ve been missing!
Mike’s offers a wide variety of subs, from traditional cold cuts to savory hot subs like steak, chicken finger, sausage and more! Not a meat lover? We also offer a veggie sub that is out of this world!
Not craving subs? Then try some of our many other offerings. From chicken fingers & wings to seafood choices like shrimp & fish fry and even a variety of salads and soups (seasonal), we are sure to have something that will tickle your taste buds!
And don’t forget the sides and desserts! pizza logs, mozzarella stix, fries, onion rings, cakes cookies and more!
History
Established in 1956.
by Mike Davis. At that time, this store and the many others he opened served a very simple menu of cold cut subs. In 1966, John and Joyce Svilokos took over ownership and continued this time-tested tradition until 1981.
The current owner, Bob Bolt, took ownership in 1981 and in 1984 the menu was expanded to keep up with changing times and consumer demands for more options. A grill was added along with some fryers allowing for many additions to the menu, including a large variety of steak and sausage subs and fish fry dinners. As time went on a large number of side dishes, salads and desserts were added to the menu.

Business Owner
Mike’s Subs in Kenmore has been in operation in the same location since 1956.
It was started and first owned by Mike Davis, who started the original chain.
It was then owned by John Svilokos, a Village of Kenmore Policeman, from 1966 to 1981.
I bought it in 1981 and have been running the store since that time.
I started out with a job at Carroll’s Hamburger Stand in 1971. I then was a manager for Arby’s Roast Beef from 1974 through the remainder of the 1970s before buying Mike’s Subs in February 1981.
