We had a similar situation as the other review. We were recommended this office from our realtor for the closing of our house. Unresponsive from the beginning. Sent us documents that had incorrect info or were missing pages. Told us we needed $ 2000 less at closing than we actually did(we needed to borrow against our 401k to close and they knew this; I told them I needed exact numbers) and we had to scramble to figure it out the day before closing. They are now holding $ 10,000 in escrow which was due back to us almost a month ago and the office has been unresponsive returning phone calls and emails. We do not recommend them.

Do not use Sargent and Collins as your homeowners attorney! Our experience with them was beyond awful. There was hardly any communication before closing. We didn’t get our final cost until the morning of closing after we had already left our bank. We were put in a situation where we needed to write personal checks as advised by our mortgage company and then were told originally that they would not accept these. They changed their minds on that luckily but that was just the beginning. We had to show up 30 minutes late due to the paralegal never giving us the final numbers and were rushed through the signing process. Every concern or question seemed like nothing but an inconvenience to them but we signed everything and they sent us on our way. About 5 hours after we close I get a phone call saying that the closing didn’t go through and that we will need to take another day off of work to come and resign all of the paperwork! It was only after I(a 23 year old first time homebuyer) brought up the fact that we signed a document giving them limited power of attorney to update things such as dates if needed did that say they would be able to proceed using the original documents. The incompetence and lack of organization of this firm was flabbergasting. Because of them I hope to never have to buy a home again. Thanks for nothing.
