I don’t often post online reviews, however, given the horrid experience I’ve had with this dealership I felt obligated to share so hopefully I can save others from going through this as well. This was my first car buying experience and I was thrilled to be able to purchase a car on my own without the help of my parents. Let me tell you, I was literally ALONE. My car salesperson left me alone for several hours in her office while she disappeared. I tried to page her but to no avail. After I had been there for four hours (mind you I already came in knowing exactly which car I wanted) I was finally brought back to the financing department and there was a light at the end of the tunnel. That light burned out quickly though, because our finance rep had no idea what they were doing. This was 100% forgiveable at the time, considering they had only been there for two weeks but she was very «thorough» to ensure there were no mistakes. Several hours later I excitedly drove off the lot in my new car thinking the transaction from hell was over. WRONG. Several days after I left I received a phone call about paperwork that they had left out and needed me to sign. This wouldn’t have been a big deal except that it happened twice. Once I returned the docs I thought it was over, wrong again. They called me and needed me to resign my contract. I was obviously very upset about this so I took my newly signed contract to the dealership and spoke to the manager who assured me no further documentation was necessary. However, I received a FOURTH call stating they need me to resign the contract that I had just resigned for them two weeks prior due to another clerical error. The worst part, is that while I was on the phone with the finance person he minimized the situation acting like it wasn’t a big deal and stated I wasn’t the only person this was happening to… Are you kidding me? Did I mention they can’t pay off the car I traded in until my «paperwork is complete» — pretty insane considering I purchased this car OVER A MONTH AGO. This has been the most nightmarish purchasing experience in my entire life. Save yourself, go somewhere else

I’m currently getting an oil change here for a car I’m leasing with Autonation Volkswagen… the service department was very rude when I called earlier in the week to schedule an oil change. I wanted to verify that my oil change would be free since I’m paying for it with my monthly payments. The lady I spoke to in service spoke to me in the rudest way possible saying that I would need to bring my paperwork in to prove it but shouldn’t all of that information be in the system, Please keep in mind that I have leased cars with Volkswagen before and never had to verify anything like that… Today I wanted to speak with The sales person (donovan) that helped me when I purchased my car last year and the receptionist rudely said that he was on vacation. So I spoke to one of the sales person named Michelle because I has questions regarding my mileage. She said that they should have explained everything to me before I purchased the car. She was very rude and condenscending that I wanted to curse her out. The lady at the front desk wasn’t helpful at all either. Like shouldn’t you greet people as they walk in… I don’t know if I was treated this way because I’m African American or they thought that I was ignorant or couldn’t afford another car… the service here at this establishment was much better when Gunther ran it. I’m disguisted by the customer service and the rudeness that I want to call corporate. I have been a loyaI volkwagen customer since 2007 and have never experienced horrible customer service with any Volkswagen dealership! Autonation Volkswagen get your act together!

False advertising may be the best way to summarize my experience with them. Who’s monitoring their dishonest practices? Don’t be fooled by the «sweet, older lady» in the sales department…

Do you need a car, good deal on a lease vechile or possible super great used car or sales people who go above and beyond, well this is the place that none of that happens. Instead you can enjoy many other things from thier menu of deceit such as The bait and switch, the 5k down on a 20k lease or maybe the supersized crappy attitude from the sales staff. This is your one stop shop for being ripped off, treated like you are bothering them and all around F grade service.
So don’t walk run down there (but you will have to run back unless you enjoy a good old fashion prison rape sales deal) and make sure you give them all your business cause this is america so don’t do research, overpay and get taken advantage of… at AutoNation VW. ask for Andy.

I came here looking for a clean, safe and reliable car. My sales lady, Pat, was such a pleasure to work with. Her patience cannot be matched and persistence on finding the right car for me was delightful. After having countless bad experiences with car dealers, I was pleasantly surprised. Coming here was such a blessing and a breath of fresh air. Although I did not purchase a car, I would definitely recommend Volkswagen Mall of GA to everyone I know, even you. Pat is still on the hunt for a car within my price range with all the bells and whistles I asked for. I truly believe she will keep an eye out until I find the perfect one. Thank you for all of your help and I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

I’m not here to drag anybody through the mud, BUT; in over 25 years of purchasing vehicles, this has to be the most bizarre experience I’ve ever had. Convoluted, back and forth, round and round, twixt and between. You get the idea. There is a flaw in their process somewhere… if you do something every day, there should be a level of proficiency that’s outwardly evident at some point. And unfortunately, I don’t think that they have it. Now keep in mind, I purchased an older vehicle (2004), so maybe THAT had something to do with it, I don’t know. I do feel that there was an effort to satisfy me (once I complained), but I just don’t know about this establishment… I don’t think I’ll ever return. No harm intended, just putting it out there.

Dishonest, uncaring, and just looking to get a sale out of you. No integrity whatsoever.

I’ve been to this dealer when they used to be Gunther.
Let me tell you I had such a bad experience, I hated supporting the former dealership.
I came out bitter in the mouth down to the stomach with their sales manager.
One day I went to take a look at the Jetta they had in a color I wanted. For some weird reason this was the only dealer that had specific color with the trim level I wanted. I ended up getting the car at a different dealer, however this time around, I came to see if I can get some decent deal from a long acquaintance Hugh White.
Am I glad I did! I traded in my TDI and got out with 2016 Golf Sportwagen TSI in SE trim.
He gave me a very good deal, let me put that again, an exceptional deal I cannot refuse.
Again, this was the only dealer that had 2016 in SE trim at the time of purchase.
I’m very happy with the experience I had this time and will be recommending my friends to deal with this dealer in addition to the other one I usually recommend.
Good job Autonation. You made the worst experience dealer with pretty face to a super model.

We came here today to get my inbetween 30 – 40,000 mile oil change, tire rotation, axel recall check, etc. Great customer service and was pretty fast and affordable. Free car wash with oil change. Was in an out in under 2 hours. Happy with the results. Will be back in a probably a year for my spark plugs or next oil change. Highly recommend this location.

It took two days to get some one to answer the phone to make an appointment and almost two and a half hours for routine service. The saleswoman that «wrapped up my appointment» treated it like a sales call to get me to buy tires and a battery that I don’t need. This was my last service before going out of warranty so I definitely won’t be back. I always liked Gunther but AutoNation reminds me of the stereotypical sleazy dealership.

I got a good price on the Jetta I purchased and was happy with my salesperson, (Raffa), but once I was turned over to their finance woman everything went bad. She talked so fast you had to ask her to repeat everything. The process took twice as long as it should have. Finally after spending 4 – 5 hours at the dealership I thought it was over. More than a week later I received a fed-​ex package in the mail with a copy of the same contract I had already signed at the dealership, with no explanation. Then the next day a got another one with the exact same paperwork and again no explanation. I called them to see what it was about and they said I had to resign and return. Again I thought this was over with. Meanwhile I am waiting for something to tell me a bout a payment. The paperwork said the first payment was due on May 13, and my temporary plate expired on that day. So I called again on the 7^th to find out what to do. The receptionist transferred me to someone who said he was the wrong person to talk to and gave me a number where I left a message on a woman’s voice mail with 2 numbers to call me back. I never received a return call. The next day I made a call to the finance woman, talked to her she said she would find out what was going on and call me back. She never called. I called again the following day talked to the manager who was telling me don’t worry about when payment is due, late payment won’t affect your credit. 2 days before my temporary plate expired I called the license plate office where I live and they hadn’t received paperwork for it yet. I called again the next day and they finally had it. The day it expired I had to rush in and get it taken care of. As far as the payment billing I got my first statement on the due date, so had to send a bank draft check to cover it.
Except for the salesperson who sold me the car, It was the most miserable car buying experience I have ever had.

Avoid this place at all costs!!! I’ve give it a no stars if possible.
I came here to buy a car (new to Atlanta from NYC, it’s been 8 yrs since I’ve owned a car) and after finding a car, negotiating, and leaving a sizable deposit — I came back 2 days later to pick up the car (they said I needed insurance and an in-​state license in order to take it off the lot — which I now seriously doubt is an actual requirement), when I went to pick up the car they completely changed the deal: they acted like we hadn’t agreed on including warranty, changed the deal completely, gave me the run around on wanting off-​site financing and tried to get me to sign bank paperwork that I didn’t agree with AND wasn’t comfortable with.
I plan on not only notifying corporate but also the BBB.
SPECIFIC PEOPLE TO AVOID: Ben (sales manager), Bo (salesman) & Sanober (Finance person).
Legitimately DO NOT GET A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE.

Recently took in my VW to Autonation to have a problem diagnosed. I was told that if I had the service done, then I would have the Diagnosis fee, around $ 110 waived. I had the work done, but when the services and charges were explained to me there were charges that were poorly explained and that I felt were excessive. I was not pleased and expressed this, but no compromise was offered. So I left not a happy customer. I felt that they were overcharging and rolling the diagnosis fee into an excessive Labor charge. Good thing we have other VW options in metro Atlanta!
