This is my favorite coffee shop in this area. They have excellent coffee and service. The noise level is not as high as what you will find in some coffee shops and this makes it easier to work from.

I adore this lil coffee joint, 10⁄10. The workers are awesome and there’s a fantastic book store just next door

S-l-o-w. Three people running the counter and no one in line. The place was full, but everyone had their coffee. The guy pulling shots spent fifteen minutes to make our two plain lattes. While I stood at the counter, he chatted with people coming in, joked, and lazily got around to handing us our coffee. The result? Awful. Coffee was barely warm and absolutely gas station forgettable. I considered asking for a refund just one sip in, but decided that would likely take another fifteen minutes and I made the call to put this mediocre strip mall atrocity forever in my rear view. Baked goods? Looked like something you’d find in a bus station. Sad, plastic wrapped Costco muffins. A streudel type thing. Nothing fresh. Seating looked pleasant enough. Staff seemed friendly, just terrible at the whole coffee making part. To cap it off, the person I was with decided to buy a book in the attached book store, but no one was at or near the register. We waited, but they must have been having a coffee or whatever. We put the book down and left. I’m generally not a fan of Starbucks. I always try to get my coffee at a locally owned place, but this place made me seriously want to hit Starbucks, and that’s about as damning an indictment as can be leveled at a coffee shop in my opinion. I have absolutely no idea why people are giving this business five stars. They must not get around much.

I’ve been coming this coffee shop for a few years now so I think it’s time I write a review for it. First of all, at first glance it is a coffee shop that is attached to a locally owned books store. The coffee shop itself is small but nice. Plenty of tables and outlets for working. Only the middle tables don’t have access to outlets. The shop brews Country Culture coffee and their pour overs are fantastic. They also have the milk-based favorites like lattes with a variety of flavors to choose from. Their tea selection is also fantastic. To top it off, the employees there are always extremely friendly and helpful. I come here any chance I get. Highly recommended.

I rarely give 5 stars for coffee shops… But! The barista ladies know how to pull their shots! They use Counter Culture Coffee(NC-based indie coffee roasting company that has become the next wave of artisanal coffee), but they also extract the [quality] of the beans so well. The only coffee shop in downtown Atlanta that I know pull their shots perfectly is Taproom Coffee(they also use Counter Culture). Not even Octane, Dancing Goats Coffee, or Land of a Thousand Hills pull their shots well. I got an espresso and a cappuccino. I was asked if I wanted to be served sparkling water along with my espresso. I loved that they asked. Sparkling water is given when you order an espresso to help clean palette before so that when you sip on the espresso, you can taste all of the flavors and notes from the beans. They used LOSROSALES(Narino, Columbia) for the espresso. The cappuccino was also excellent. Great quality milk and I could tell they use organic. It was velvety and they didn’t over-heat it so the way they steamed it brought out the sweetness in the milk. Great job ladies!!! Loved it. I was so happy :) Hopefully it is consistent. I will come back for sure :) Coffee snobs might like to give this place a chance.

I heard about this cute coffee shop from local friends when I moved here from Colorado & decided to check it out. Best decision I’ve ever made! For the last few years of being near ATL I always come to Boulder Creek when I can! It’s a cozy, modern coffee & tea shop where the employees are ALWAYS friendly & knowledgeable & go above and beyond to serve their guests! Every local coffee snob that I know will only drink their coffee & it’s definitely the place to hang out! They also share the spot partially with a sweet book store where you can exchange your books for credit or more books! So cozy! I love this place!

I lived in NYC and Washington DC from 2006 – 2014, so there were lots of great little coffee shops(that were not Starbucks!). When we moved to Georgia, I realized there were not really any little coffee shops, at least anywhere near me. This place is just about the closest coffee shop to my house, and it’s still too far to go regularly. Once or twice a month is all I can manage, but it’s really my favorite coffee shop in the area. I like a plain or flavored latte, and these are really yummy. I’ve also had some of their muffins, and they’re HUGE and delicious. I haven’t sat there to read or work, so I can’t speak to the ambience or noise level. I just know I enjoy the coffee.

WARNING: Their prices are too low for the quality they deliver. Wow, I just had an Awesome Kenyan pour over that was very smooth. It’s attached to a book store, so the atmosphere is unique to the area.

This was the go to coffee place for my older sister Miriam and I before she moved to Seattle. We love this place. It is a Christian based book store and coffee shop. Inside is really small, but it’s cozy and cute. Their coffee and teas are really good and reasonably priced. I haven’t tried their food yet. It’s a great spot to come to chit chat, study, and read. They are opened till 10pm and unfortunately closed on Sundays. The people here are friendly.

I came here for the first time a few weeks back. I am not very up-to-date on outside the perimeter happenings, so we just walked in after briefly looking at their website. I guess they are a religious-based coffee shop, which I have never heard of, but sure, do your thing I guess. However, it is not apparent whatsoever(website, outside of the shop, etc. don’t mention this theme) until you are already in there and reading literature they have posted and your friend in a hijab is getting dirty looks. Actual title of their literature: «Hitler was a Leftist» in addition to something not so positive about Islam… They should really make their goals more clear so people who would like to avoid that kind of stuff can do so. When I think of pour overs, sandwiches called tree hugger, and organic tea, I do not think of the religious right… so you can see it is a bit confusing/misleading! I would say if you are not very religious, are of another religion, or are not very conservative, there is a chance you may not feel very comfortable here and you may not wish to patronize such a place. Just the heads up I wish I had before feeling so uncomfortable here. Also, their chai was meh.

/TL;DR Don’t honestly get all the hype. Maybe my mistake was not ordering the pour over. /ATMOSPHERE It’s adjacent to an independent bookstore with charismatic owners. So there you go… imagine grinds, dust, character… all the appeal of a book, a bay window, and a Sunday afternoon. /FOOD Perhaps I should have gone with the pour over since it was very prominent as their preferred service. I went with the standard coffee which was pumped out of a carafe and quite frankly, not very good. It was a bit on the old side. The dessert we got was pretty good. /SERVICE We weren’t too ecstatic about the personalities while ordering. Felt a bit rushed. After we got seated though, the attendee was pretty pleasant, actually. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

The smell of leather, books, and coffee welcome you into a charming coffee shop. Offers include fancy coffee, flavored and herbal teas, sandwiches, and baked good. Worth a stop, very friendly and efficient service.

This is a cozy little coffee shop down the street from Mall of Georgia. It has a nice design to it and the staff are friendly. It is connected to the book store next door. The seating looked comfortable but the tiny sofa sets actually weren’t very comfortable. A good place to grab coffee but probably not comfortable enough to study/work.

This place was recommend to me quite awhile ago by a friend but I only finally tried it today. I had a very simple pour over black coffee. I was pleased with the taste of the coffee. the service was also very fast and friendly. also took a moment to check out the bookstore next door. wish this place was next door to me so I could justify going more often. definitely a good coffee shop and worth checking out.

Small little spot connected to a book store they have an amazing array of coffee, treats and lunch options. With the recent American hype over the pour over, the masses have become more selective coffee drinkers and this place gives you what you should be drinking and will make you truly embrace the taste of the beans you are picking for your coffee or espresso drink. Richie and the staff here are all extremely knowledgable about the beans they use and take pride in the drink they are making for you which will ultimately be an amazing coffee experience. I have enjoyed many discussions of what separates one bean from the next and there options to chose between are extensive. Outside of the pour over they have a cold brew that is also very tasteful. This is by far the absolute best coffee in Gwinnett!

I don’t understand how the Starbucks around the mall are able to stay in business with Boulder Creek here. Seriously, the best coffee in the area. The baristas actually know what they’re doing and give a shit about maintaining the integrity in the art of coffee making. Get a pour-over and prepare your mouth for awesomeness.

This is a good coffee shop. I am not a big fan of Starbucks or chain coffee shops. I frequent this location often since I work remotely and I am always looking for places to work from. Coffee and food are very good. They do a good job at have very high quality coffee brews that you can’t find anywhere unless you went to a specialty store. Baristas are really friendly and polite. They have very good customer service. Wi Fi at this location is not the greatest, so if you have to do something other than email, this is not your place. This business is HIGHLY religious. I am often asked questions from customers such as «What church do you attend?» and told biblical references out of no where. There is some religious propaganda around the location also. While I do not find this offensive or bothersome, it can be frustrating when it is not the day. For example, the other day a group of Christians began criticizing Muslim beliefs, and while I really do not care I think it can be a bit offensive to Muslims. If I had to describe it with my own words I would use words such as religious fanatics.

I’ve been here several times! Awesome place. It’s connected to a used book store. I don’t usually see people bring books from the book store, but its definitely a good place to chill out and read. Especially on a rainy day. And i’ve been here on rainy days =). I think this is a Christian-affiliated place. I know the bookstore is. And I saw some posters with bible verses. I like taking my Christian friends here! I’ve never been here when it was empty. There are always people here. They are quiet, but there are people that come regularly. They use counterculture coffee. It’s a great place for both tea and coffee connoisseurs. They have different types of coffee beans you can choose from(as opposed to just one type that most coffee shops have). I tried a Ethiopian one and I liked it. I need to try their others. They also have different options of HOW your coffee is brewed. They have a unique style. I forgot how they described it. But it seems like a complicated process =P. But it’s yummy! One of my favorite drinks here is their shaker. It is like a frap, but it’s not as overly-sweet as a Starbucks frap or a frozen sugary coffee drink in other coffee shops. I love the music they play too. It’s very indie. Maybe it changes depending on the day. Although I discovered its not exactly a «local» coffee shop, it’s more local it seems than Starbucks: D. I haven’t tried their sandwichs or food, but they have many options! Their teas are good too! Hot or iced. Try the iced crimson!

Looove the atmosphere of the place. I only went in here because I was in the Book for a Less and turns out they’re connected. There’s plenty of seating, tables and electric outlets for everyone’s laptop and phone chargers. Awesome. They also seem to have a lot of regulars coming in. I ordered the tree hugger panini which was a pretty funny name to me. It had hummus, spinach, mushrooms, and roasted red peppers. It was good, not spectacular though. It came with a pickle and free chips. I also got the chai shaker which was basically iced chai. They also sell pastries and tea. Overall, great place to get on your laptop and do some work, or read a book from next door. Next time I visit Books for Less, I’ll definitely make another stop in this coffee shop before I leave.
