Buford Family Practice And Urgent Care Center

Today was my 1^st and last visit with Buford family practice .I arrived at 1150am and was told shortly after that the doctors had all left and went to lunch and wouldnt return until 2:15. In my mind that was thought to be a very long lunch break but myself being the very patient person that i am i waited. Finally i was called back and asked what was the reason for my visit, I explained that i hadn’t had insurance for a couple years now so it was a few thing I was visiting for, the assistant suggested that i get a physical and that before I leave i should schedule one, and that the doctor would be right with me. 5 minutes later one of the doctors with short blonde hair and long nails came in and asked if i were here for my sinus infection I recited what i told the assistant and response was «that seems to be the case with a lot of people with your insurance» Offended instantly i remained calm as she checked my heart rate and looked in my ears and told me that ears were clogged with ear wax and that was the reason for my drainage, this was after i explained to her that i have sinus issues since childhood and it wasn’t because of allergies. And after two hours of waiting i was out of the room within 10 mins. Her statement lead me to believe that she was very unprofessional and prejudice whether or i have peach state insurance, I am a 22 year old African American who working full time and i am also a full time student who at this stage of life can not afford better insurance at this stage in my life and by no means does that mean i’m abusing the system by her preconceived ideas. I still deserve the same health care just like everyone else. Not only was i offended my needs were not heard out or lead to believe they mattered and for these reasons i will not be returning

Just moved to the area and had a hard time finding a new doctor. After giving this practice several chances I gave up and had to search again. I always made an appointment and each time never waited less then 2 hours to to see someone. Never saw the same provider twice and only met the doctor once for less then 5 minutes. Went in for an annual exam and the PA spent less then 10 minutes with me. When I expressed concern about a lump in my breast her response was that I should get it looked at. When I got my insurance statement they charged the company $ 600 and didn’t even do blood work. The person that deals with the prescriptions and pharmacies is completely incompetent. I had to have prescriptions corrected several times because she wrote the wrong milligram and dosage. This place is a typical «doc in a box» that doesn’t care about patients at all. Run! Don’t walk to another practice. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Unless this is your absolute last possible choice for a doctor, avoid at all costs. This is the 2^nd visit in a year for our children. Thankfully they are healthy so we only had to come in for physicals. Our first visit last year took over 3 hours! Today we have been in the office for over 2 hours and we are still here!!! It took an hour just to be seen. Unless you like to wait, and wait, and wait, and wait then go somewhere, anywhere else. We are letting our children play in the hall in the hopes they will annoy someone enough to get us the hell out of here.

Avoid if you can. Terrible customer service. They seem to care about one thing and it’s not the patient. We paid for a full office visit. The doctor refers us to get a thousand dollar scan and tells us that they will follow up with the results which NEVER happened. We had to call and leave 4 messages begging to know what is wrong. Nurse calls back and wants to charge another full office visit (next day mind you) in order to review the results. We get a call later that they have called in a couple of antibiotics (BUT FOR WHAT…) No one has yet to explain what the antibiotics are for but if we will pay for another full office visit, then they will explain what they are for. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

Dr. Osowa is a great doctor and I’ve recommended him to all of my friends and neighbors.
This is his brand new location, opened for less than 1 year, do the rooms and waiting area are still super clean and nice.
They have a Keurig Coffee maker in the lobby and plenty of hand sanitizer.
They have good nurse practitioners and assistants so I have no complaints in this department. I have always been attended to and looked after well.
It can get very busy here, at times, so I’d try and make an appointment first. But, you can still do a walk in and they will accommodate you.
The biggest reason that I give 5 stars is for the fact that Dr. Osowa still spends time with his patients and for the fact that he actually cares about you. Not so with so many other doctors…
The only need of improvement would be on the Office Staff Dept as they seem to be, at times, a little overwhelmed but they respond well when you bring things to their attention.
