Hemphill Towing and Recovery

I had my car break down on the side of the road. I had called this company and had waited 3 hours to get my car towed. In addition the man who arrived had difficulty loading my car onto the truck. In doing so, he had dragged my newly replaced bumper against the asphalt scrapping all the paint off as well as bending my fender. When I had confronted the man about my concern. He replied saying, «It wasn’t his problem nor his responsibility.» I’m very disgusted about my experience with this company and would highly recommend to change towing companies if your insurance chooses to have this company to represent in its so called «efforts» to safely take your car to the designated repair shop. What would of costed me 400 in damages because of my car breaking down had turned out to be 800 due to a man’s inability to load and tow a customers vehicle safely.

Used them for a USAA insurance tow. Have to knock them a star for having folks other than the driver in the car forcing us to take an UBER and them being way off initially on the milage. The person on the phone was a little combative when discussing how far it was actually back to my house. I had to challenge her because both google maps and WAZE was telling me 13 miles, so did USAA btw, but they were quoting 16. She then relented and said she was not given an exact address but never asked for it either when I was on the phone with her. Charged us for the extra mile but it was only $ 4. The driver was very nice and courteous and they were on time. Unlike every other tow service I have used. Be sure to double check the milage and you should be ok. Being on time I have come to learn is rare in the tow truck industry. Many just quote a time just to get the business and never live up to it. With everything online it is easy just to cancel them if they are not and just have the insurance company call someone else.

Car broke down today and i decided to ask these people to tow me to the dealership i wanted to go to (which was in buford).
Got off the phone with them at 12:45 pm. They sent me an eta of 2:46. A little long but i was sure everyone else was just as busy. At 3:35 i got a call from the driver saying it would be 45 min before he could be at my car. He was complaining about heavy traffic (even though google maps and wayze both showed there clearly was no traffic). I called the company every hour after 4 pm because the driver would no longer take my calls, im assuming he was ignoring me because of the «heavy traffic.»
Each time i called they reassured me they were only 5 min away. Finally, at 7:35 pm they got my car and took it to its destination. By then the auto shop i wanted to go to was of course closed.
Wow, terrible experience. Seven hours wasted. Merry christmas to you too hemphill towing and recovery.

Wow — Hemphill Towing was assigned to me through USAA’s roadside assistance program. They were very professional, efficient and arrived far earlier than expected. Would not hesitate to recommend them or call them if I need service again.

Malcolm happened to be driving by just as my wife’s car broke down — fortunate coincidence! He was quick to respond, extremely nice to work with, and thoughtful — it was 95° and she had 2 young kids who he offered to quickly get into his cab to shield them from the heat. He did the job speedily and professionally, and the rate was extremely competitive. Can’t recommend this company enough.

These guys always take care of us! I own an auto repair shop, CorrectAuto in Lilburn and we use Hemphill towing for most tows and we always appreciate their rapid response and reasonable rates!

The manufacturer road side assistance came out to help me when I was stuck on the road and decided the car needed to be towed to my local dealer where my car has been serviced for years. The dealer confirmed and told Hemphill rep to use the night drop (which I have also used before) to deliver the car. Hemphill agreed but still decided to store my car overnight without my knowledge and delivered it at 11:30am next day — unacceptable. I only found out when I called to check on the repair for my car next day that my car was in fact not there yet! Roadside assistance confirmed they have many complaints regarding this because Hemphill is doing this to collect storage money — UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Franklin is the best towing operator you could ask for. My car was stranded for 8 hours, we called the insurance company to tow our car to our mechanic. They sent out 3 different towers who came to our house and could not do the job. Based on the state of our car (would not reverse or go into neutral). We had several people come and say they do not have the proper equipment to get the car out of the drive way or could not solve the problem. Finally, the last company that was called has Hemphill. The first thing Franklin said to us was the car is going to get where it needs to go. This guy did an amazing job he could have just left but he cared, something other people no longer do. He went above and beyond, he worked some magic underneath the car. He was under the car for almost 45 minutes working on it, which is amazing dedication and shows the character of the employees of this company because he could have just said too bad just like all the other people who came before him. After all said and done, Franklin aka Leon did more than just tow our car. He even was able to diagnose what was wrong with the car and almost fix it! DO NOT hesitate using these guys. I would give Hemphill and Leon 100 stars if I could they saved our day and possibly our car. Thank you!

My wife’s SUV needed to be towed to the dealer and I contacted Ford Emergency Roadside Service. Through their service they contacted Hemphill Towing within a few minutes of getting off the phone with Ford I was sent a text with their ETA. A brand new flat bed wrecker arrived right on time and I was greeted by the driver who introduced himself as Leon. Immediately he assured me he would take care of everything and get to the dealer as soon as possible. Watching Leon work it was pretty obvious he knew what he was doing. He treated the vehicle like it was his own and was very conscientious to make sure he didn’t get the interior dirty and also made sure the SUV was secured properly. I realize that’s his job but I see too many people everyday just going through the motions to get through the day. It was not too hard to tell Leon loves his job and takes his responsibility very seriously. Beside being very competent Leon was extremely pleasant and well mannered. I would recommend Hemphill Towing to anyone that needs their service and hope you’re lucky enough the get Leon.
