Yummy food but was crowded between two large parties and seemed to not get the same flare or experience as at other places. Food was average saKi got cold.

Was not happy with the rolls. I think I could have made them. Nothing special. Better sushi at publix or at the Chinese buffets. I guess the hibachi would have been better. Also I think the the sushi chef should not be walking around with a phone. Then going to the bar to make the rolls with dirty hands.

I was looking forward to giving this place a try. However, I ended up being extremely disappointed with their sushi. It was just plain with no flavor and rice just coming apart. I will not return back to this place. That being said, the place was extremely clean and the people were friendly.

Great food. Great service. The chef had great personality even though we were the last customers of The day.

Always great food and a good time with friends. I’ve dined here once so far and had take out another time, good traditional hibachi.

Went on a Friday night around 8. Décor was typical hibachi minimalist. Clean and neat appearance, décor aside. Used a Groupon with no issues. I had the filet and chicken. My date had the filet and lobster. Have to say the filet was tender and cooked nicely. The lobster was a little chewy and and not worth the $ 8 upcharge. The presentation was excellent but very typical hibachi down to the onion volcano. .lol overall nice experience with the exception of waiting about 20 minutes for the bill.

Wait staff were alert and helpful but not extraordinary. Chef was entertaining but food was bland for hibachi. Prices were lower than similar in area. Overall fair experience but not great.

I went with friends for a birthday dinner not long ago. Seriously, if you can avoid this place at all I would suggest doing so. I have eaten at many hibachi restaurants across the country and this was by far the worst. Let me start off with the table. The tables themselves are perpetually sticky. I asked the hostess if I could maybe get a wet cloth to wipe down my table because it was bothering me and she said that the table finish is permanently sticky because the heat from the grill melts the finish. This is bizarre to me. Like I said before, I’ve been in many hibachi restaurants. The finish melting off a table has NEVER happened before. I really don’t know why they wouldn’t spend the money to re-finish the table in something that doesn’t melt off. Secondly, I was in this restaurant at prime dinner time on a weekend, and there was only one other table at hibachi and some people sitting in the sushi area. Nobody comes here. I wonder why. The food itself is not good either. The fried rice is drowned in butter and soy sauce and when I was asked at the end of the meal if I would like a box, I declined because it was so unappetizing while hot and fresh that I couldn’t imagine it tasting worse reheated the next day. My food was extremely salty due to the excessive soy sauce. The menu also advertises a dessert included with a meal, but surprise! You don’t get anything. Our hibachi chef lied and said they had run out of ice cream. Our hostess informed us the owner no longer purchases the ice cream so they no longer give dessert. They might want to update the menu. The salad dressing was unique. I liked that. The soup was fine although not hot at all, just warm. The chef aside from the lie was pleasant. Those were pretty much the only good things. I would not come here again.

I’m really starting to love the flaming hibachi grill! This evening my two girls and I came in and sat with a really cool family from Boca Raton Fl. :) This place is so close to home we could actually walk, but this was our first time tonight, but not our last. We decided on our choice of meats chicken, shrimp are a must for us carnivores. While sipping on soup I talked a little with the happy people who were dining next to us. I told them How awesome Unilocal is, and how cool it is to be ELITE… Saki is a japanese sushi/hibachi steakhouse without much of a ambience, but the food is very fresh and the hibachi chef tried his best to communicate even though we had no idea what he was saying… Overall we had a very good experience here and will definitely return.

Went to this place after reading the reviews. No alcohol. Hostess says it’s BYOB. Service had the feel of a place that is circling the drain. My friend and I jokes that they needed Restaurant impossible in there. At 7:30 on a week night, we were initially the only people there. The sushi menus literally have white out over where previous customers have written in their quantities. Felt like we were inconveniencing the sushi chef for him to come prepare our food. Worst of all. The sushi was frozen in the middle. Frozen. Whatever the other positive reviews saw is no longer present here. I give this place mere months before doors are closed.

My family and I love this place. Everyone is super friendly and the prices are great. I’m surprise their not busier. Every time we have dinner there the place is empty. I always get the shrimp & chicken hibachi. The ginger dressing is very good as well.

Love this place! Great food, great service, reasonable prices. Bring your own bottle though!(I really don’t mind this at all as we save on drinks! No $ 5beers here) my hubby and kids love the sushi. Be sure to add bacon to your fried rice, yum! Fresh veggies and choice cuts of meat. Love it!

Today was our first and last experience here. We walked in with high hopes for sushi based on the previous Unilocal reviews. We were sat down to the sushi bar to see enough uncut fish for about 5 people and very little variety. In front of me also sat a halved avocado that was more brown than it was green. We felt almost pity for the nice waiter and sushi chef that we ordered a 9 piece sushimi appetizer(tell me how a party of 2 can split a 9 piece appetizer?) and promptly left.

As you all know, I hardly ever write follow up reviews but this place is THAT good! Every time I go in or call the owner is so friendly and always says hello to us regardless of how busy they are. The food is always fresh and delicious. I get the hibachi chicken which comes with a huge portion of chicken, veggies, rice(I love the fried rice!) and soup and salad. We usually order to go during the week but we have eaten in the restaurant several times and the food is consistently good. My favorite part is the cucumber rolls I dip them in teriyaki sauce and they are amazing!!! Bobby loves the regular sushi here too. Saki is located in the corner shopping center across from Walmart on Hamilton Mill and is an absolute gem and a MUST for Japanese food in Buford. Try it once and I guarantee you’ll be just as hooked as I am :)

Finally I’ve found a great sushi spot! The food is great, tasty and fresh, and not to mention really reasonable prices. And the owner is the chef, and he’s super nice! We sat at the bar, and he even made us complementary hand rolls! Don’t miss out on this restaurant. I can’t wait to visit again and try the hibachi.

Found this GEM of a Japanese restaurant over the weekend to celebrate our son’s 17th birthday. It’s hard to find a restaurant that all five of us can agree on, much less one that we all absolutely LOVED — but this was the place! Service was impeccable and very attentive, the food was fresh, very plentiful and cooked to perfection. Of course, the whole hibachi«experience» is always very entertaining as well. Excellent all around! If you are in the Gwinnett/Hall/Barrow part of North Atlanta, this is definitely a place you’ll want to check out. They are on Hamilton Mill Road, just a few minutes away from Mall of Georgia. 5 stars!

My husband and I ate here with a large group of friends last night and had a wonderful evening! I ordered the filet and scallops. The food is prepared right in front of you, and the whole process is quite entertaining and impressive. The food was fresh and the filet is almost melt-in-your-mouth tender. They give you a lot of food, and it’s all delicious! The service was great, and everyone there was so friendly and kind. We will definitely be back — soon! I hope word gets out about this little gem — I hope it gets to be part of our community for a long time!

My wife really seems to enjoy her Hibachi and this place really delivers when it comes to quality of food and service. We enjoy the unique style in which they cook their food as always add or use a little something extra to make things a taste little a bit better. I recommend it for its food, service, and atmosphere.
