Auto Matters

Took in my car for some external damage that was done to my front bumper and they were beyond helpful and had my car ready in less than a week. Really appreciated the promt help and the understanding of my situation. Definitely will recommend to family and friends

BUYER BEWARE! Another rip off mechanic.
Took a Mazda3 there for a front brake job. $ 115 for labor, which is fine, I understand that. The main problem is that the parts they used aren’t OEM, yet they charged MORE for aftermarket parts. They used Centric parts and charged us $ 73 for brake pads that should have cost no more than $ 30. They charged $ 184 for rotors that should have cost no more than $ 80 for the set! When we asked for the part’s boxes they refused to give them to us (So who know’s what parts we actually received). They got us once, and we’ll never be going back. Proceed with caution.

I’ve been a client of Auto Matters since 1998 and to this day still drive from the Westside to have my car serviced. I trust them implicitly. In 16 years, I have not ONCE had to return my car after service! This kind of trust and honesty is rare to find in a mechanic so my dad told me to stick with them. They are AAA approved and are far less expensive than anyone on the Westside. They would rather refuse a job than lie or cheat to get the transaction. Thank you Tony and Henry for being so awesome all of these years.

I have been a long time customer of Auto Matters, and thought it time to write a review.
I have been going here for about 14 years. Tony and Henry really have their sh*t together. Quick, reliable service, decent prices, but above all, they go out of their way to help you. They have stayed late when I had to tow my car into their shop, they have driven me home after I have dropped off my car for service, and go above and beyond expectations.
There are only a few good mechanic shops in Burbank. Auto Matters is one of them. So is Chalard’s on the other side of town. But that’s for another review!

My vehicle had a serious leak and was overheating, I called a few nearby auto places and they were either fully booked.
Called up Auto Matters and ask if they could check out my suv now, and they said come right over. They did there inspection found the problem, yet getting the part was going to take time, they wanted me to leave my car. I dont live in burbank and have work the next day, understanding my dilemma Tony called a few places found the part and Henry (Hike) picked it up, then stayed a little after hours to fix my car. Their fee was fair, I was shocked they didnt over charge me because I was in a position to be taken advantage of which I had experienced in the past. The part cost more when I searched it online, glad i wasn’t overcharged. Very fair treatment thank you gentlemen.

My family has been taking our cars here for well over 20 years, and we’ve never received less than top service and value. One of those rare places that you can really trust if you know nothing about cars! They do oil changes, and engine changes, and everything in between. You’d be hard pressed to find a better value for the money, or nicer people!

Been getting my oil changed here for years, and had the engine on my 1968 Mercury Cougar fully restored here. Tony and Henry are excellent mechanics who have been in the business for years and know exactly what they’re doing. I highly recommend Auto Matters to anyone who needs work done on his/​her car. Quality work!

I dealt with this company a few years back and I am quite surprised they are still in business. These guys do not know what they are doing. After having them rebuild an engine it never worked right. After dealing with them and trying to get them to fix it I finally took to another repair shop. That repair shop said there were parts MISSING and some parts were actually put on BACKWARDS. My experience was very disturbing and I can’t imagine this guy is still fooling people. Stay away from him!

I have been going to Tony for work on every car I have had since the early 1980’s. He does great work, is thorough, will replace parts without question if they fail within the warranty time. Over the life of our two current cars (15 years) he has replaced every part that has worn out, including an engine, both transmissions, water pumps, brakes, tires, an alternator, etc., etc., etc. If he costs a little more it’s because he does quality work, gets quality parts and will go the distance for his customers.

For the past year I have been dealing with AUTO MATTERS and have had the biggest nightmare experience. To date they have cost me over $ 2000. In February 2009 they replaced my clutch charging me $ 1300. The clutch never felt right and I asked them about it. I have been driving my car for over 5 years and am the only owner. They told me «Oh it’s fine it just need to be broken in» I trusted them until Dec 23 2009 when the clutch stopped working. Towed it back to them because it was still under warranty. They said «Oh no the clutch is good, it’s the linkage». I allowed them to charge me another $ 400. I called a number of other mechanics took it to one and asked if this was fair. All agreed this was something the shop should take care of because it is a clutch issue. I called Auto Matters and Tony agreed to refund the money. Great. The clutch has failed again at 13,500 miles. Tony feels no obligation to stand by his work. And has basically told me I am SOL. I hope no one else finds themselves in this situation. FYI my 1^st clutch lasted for 67,832 miles. I have driven manual my entire driving life and I have never damaged a vehicle due to poor operation. Tony was very quick to lay blame on the customer. Also I’m a woman. Mechanics that try shady stuff with women are inexcusably cruel and dishonest. Could not be more unhappy with a mechanic. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

They’re great. Honest, fast work. We work down the street from them. They did all our work vehicles and when I noticed I needed new tires, they gave me a great price. Definitely recommend these guys. Henry down there is your man.

This place is great. Tucked into a small corner of San Fernando Rd near the Buena Vista street I-​5 Ramp, I drove by it the first I was going there and I had the address in my hand! My Girlfriend took her car there after she called AAA for a local mechanic. The clutch in her Subaru was slipping really bad and I was expecting the repair to be pretty hefty. Actually, They had the work done quickly and the cost was significantly less than I was expecting. I later took my Ford Focus to them to correct a problem that came from me trying to fix my own car. Great work ans fast service. They even gave back the old parts I asked for!
