Thank you Dr. Lilly!!!
My 10 year old son got hit playing hockey and knocked out his whole front tooth. Eek!
I phoned Dr. Lilly’s office; they told me to keep the tooth wet and to come immediately. His staff are always so welcoming, friendly and caring! We really needed them, and they really came through for my son and me.
Long story short: Dr. Lilly was able to save my son’s tooth. :D
I actually started as a patient with Dr. Lilly’s father. This is really a family office. They take care of my whole family; my parents and my family. They are great with children too.
After this emergency and happy ending, Dr. Lilly has a loyal patient for life. For always being so caring for us. My son might have wanted to look like a real hockey player with a missing tooth, but I am thankful to Dr. Lilly for keeping son from looking like a hillbilly! :)

Please note I used the term microaggression. Here’s a common Internet definition:
Microaggressions are different from overt, deliberate acts of bigotry, such as the use of racist epithets, because the people perpetrating microaggressions often intend no offense and are unaware they are causing harm.
So, please, don’t feel offended about it. Instead, feel shame over the fact that you’re disclaiming my (over 10 – 14 years) experience with this dentist office. My experience and life. Now read the microaggression definition above again (funny how most complaints about this review was never sent to me, the reviewer – not only is there an implication of strangers discrediting my negative experience, but the fact that there are other people who get negative experiences can’t share it without being called a liar; its really unreasonable – just because you like a place doesn’t always make it justified or always right – it also doesn’t mean you have to stop going or liking the place, I’m just sharing (once again for emphasis) my experience).
If you still have a problem with it, send a message privately explaining why. I don’t mind explaining my years of problem here as well as other family members. I also don’t mind referring better dentistry. And yes, there were second opinions.
Now, onto the dentist update: I switched and no longer go to Dr Lilly because of the uncomfortable atmosphere in the waiting room and dubious cleanings.
Here’s a list of problems from my years of continuous trips here (being solved at my lovely new preferred dentist).
One, my ignored concern from this office (ex. Throbbing pain from bottom left teeth) was because of worn fillings, which should have been replaced promptly. A dentist should be able to tell with their tools. Waiting can hurt your health and be more costly. Side note: there are no questions on which type of filling you get – the general consensus seems to be the metallic one.
Two, even though I had been going here most of my life, there has been no mentions of my bruxism/​teeth grinding/​teeth clenching. A dentist should be able to tell via checking for jaw pains or finding your teeth worn out. It wasn’t until I switched dentists that it was notice I had really worn out teeth from clenching, and they were quick to make nightguards (acrylic teeth protector). This is from years, years where it was never mentioned at Dr Bruce Lilly’s office.
Three, the cleanings here are, as I mentioned in my previous review back in February, a hit and miss. Sometimes, the hygienist is very thorough. And sometimes… There are just weak handed and sloppy scraps on the gum line as well as polishing. Cleanings are every six months, so it’s concerning that there are workers here that do not take their work seriously when it deals with another persons dental health.
Four, when getting anesthetic via shot/​needle, the dentist could not aim correctly to the gum area and had to do it again (while also getting visibly frustrated that I can still feel the area that needed to be numbed). Another irritation: the excess anesthetic sliding to the back of the throat, causing irritation with the bitter taste – there should have been a dental suction to prevent it from possibly numbing the back of the mouth.
Five, again, the microaggression from the receptionists. It may not be intentionally, but it’s there. The new place I go to have a very nice receptionist who takes the time to explain thoroughly for payment/​insurance setup and shows genuine concern (esp finding a date that can be convenient for the patient). New receptionist also doesn’t give a sigh and make it seem like you’re bothering her when trying to set up an appointment because, «we’re so busy all the time that our calendar is full.» Not the exact words because it’s been a while, but the same idea. On another note with the receptionists, my sister was once called and told that her cleaning appointment was cancelled because the dentist had an emergency – which is understandable, but then they then mentioned they rescheduled the appointment to be in another six months. Six months. Nice care about teeth health, huh? But she accepted it. But what wasn’t acceptable was the fact that the appointment (six months later) was once again cancelled again for the same reason – why wasn’t there a change of dentist/​hygienist then? Isn’t there a reason why a cleaning should be done every six months?
General notes:
* they do not remove wisdom teeth, but refer you to a place
* does not seem to do nightguards for bruxism
It would have also been nice if the comment on my review also respected «privacy» about my «issues» via messages instead of responding to said review.
TL;DR: very unprofessional for professionals. Not the place for me but others are happy here. I can’t write anymore because text limit. Thanks for reading.

I had a very trusted, long-​time dentist in Orange County, but when I moved to North Hollywood I could not justify the 75-​mile one-​way commute and time off work. Enter Dr. Lilly’s office on the recommendation of a friend.
To say I am pleased would be an understatement! Years ago I had been told I needed much more work done than I really did, and have been cautious of dentists and being «upsold» ever since. No such case at Dr. Lilly’s. I actually expected my prognosis to be much worse than it was, since I had gone nearly a year since a cleaning/​exam and had previously been on a 3x/​year schedule. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. My hygienist, Michelle, took a lot of time and care with me and gave me a fantastic cleaning. She even took the time to explain some of my problem areas, give me a brushing demonstration, and evaluated my flossing technique. Plus — she has been with the practice for 10 years, which really is a testimony in itself!
I actually saw Dr. Murray rather than Dr. Lilly, and he was very nice and has a great bedside manner. He was very friendly and I was at ease the entire time.
I learned that the practice is a second «generation» practice, as Dr. Lilly’s father originally opened the office. There are many second generation patients — this is truly a gem in Burbank and I am so thankful I found this dental office!

I came in for the first time for a cleaning and had such a great experience that I had to write a review. The whole staff was so kind and they made my time there so pleasant (that’s right, a trip to the dentist was PLEASANT)! I was especially impressed by Dr. Angie. She looks so young, but her intelligence and ability to explain things as she went was impressive. The hygienist, Veronica, and Dr. Angie were professional, yet fun, and I felt truly at ease in their chair. I would definitely go back and recommend the office to anyone (and already have).
Convenient (and free) parking lot in the back too!

I had a filling fall out and couldn’t get an appointment at my regular dentist, plus his office is on the other side of town, close to my old place of work, but not convenient to where I am now. So I called Dr. Lilly’s office since his reviews on Unilocal were pretty positive. They had an appointment for the next morning, which maybe should’ve been a red flag. The receptionist informed me that it would not be with Dr. Lilly, who seems to have a long-​standing good reputation as well as a many patients. It would be with «Dr. Angie.»
As I’m between insurance policies, I’d be paying for this out of my own pocket, so I was careful, once I got in the chair to ask Dr. Angie Terzian what the work would cost. She said, «$ 125.» When I got to the desk, I was presented with a bill for $ 195. The bill included a «complete dental exam» at $ 40 which I never asked for. I went in there for the sole and specific purpose of having one filling replaced. Nothing more.
To my mind this is unethical. It’s obvious that when a patient asks how much a particular appointment is going to cost, they’re asking what the out-​the-​door cost will be. It is not up to the patient to further ask, «Are there any hidden charges that you’re going to sneakily add to inflate my bill and bulk up your profit margin?» I asked this woman straight up how much the work would cost and she told me $ 125. And that was not true.
Rather than make a scene, which is not my forte, I paid the bill and went home to write this review in the hopes of saving someone else from these shady and shameful practices. Kinda stupid in the age of the internet to be pulling this stuff on people when you’re going to be so readily called out on it.

The best ever! I moved and still travel to see him.

I Love DR. Lilly and Dr. Angies dental office!!! I hate the dentist, I hate it soo much I boycotted for 3 years!!! But once I got the offal tooth ace it was time to go back, and Dr. Angie and her assistant Gabby are the best!!! They made me feel sooo comfortable and cared for!!! Karen, is awesome too, we managed to have a conversation while she cleaned my teeth!!! I love it here, my husband has been coming here since he was a baby, and I am soo glad he introduced me to them!!!

This guy and his partner Dr. Angie are simply the BEST. I’ve had a lot of dentists in my 40 years and his dental office is superb. Everyone is friendly and his dental work is top notch!

Ive been coming to Dr Lilly for 15 years. Now I live in Vegas and come back just for the friendly staff.

Great office! I went in nervous after having a stressful dental experience with two different dental offices in Van Nuys over a year ago. Dr. Lilly’s office is great. Clean office. Very nice staff. Everything went smoothly and quickly! Dr. Lilly was also genuinely nice and to the point. No one tried to sell me anything I didn’t need, which was a relief. Very very happy! Definitely going to stick with this dentist.

I got new dental insurance with my new job so of course I had to go through the daunting process of finding a new dentist. I found this one on Unilocal so I thought I’d return the favor and rave about my wonderful experience.
I arrived with all my new patient paperwork already filled out so I was ready quickly. They were running a few minutes behind, but only maybe 10. Carol was my hygienist and she was such a sweet lady. Of course she made sure that I had knowledge of proper flossing technique and she gave feedback on my teeth as she cleaned them. She did a great job cleaning — they feel squeaky clean!
I got x-​rays with Gaby. She was a very young technician, but very nice and helpful. She hustled around the room moving the machine in every direction.
Then Dr. Angela came in to examine my teeth. She is very young for a dentist, but made me feel super comfortable and relaxed (which is not something many people say at the dentist!). She explained everything as she was doing it and pointed out different things in my xrays.
I didn’t need any dental work done so I can’t vouch for that yet, but so far, a great experience!

In my 6 years of living in LA, i’ve been to many dentists. I’ve never really been happy with a single one of them until finding Dr. Bruce’s office.
A coworker recommeded them and i’ve since recommended to anyone who asks.
They’re very friendly, get you in and out quickly and absolutely DON’T try to upsell you on unnecessary treatments, products or procedures like most other dentists i’ve tried in LA.
A year ago, I tried a different dentist in Burbank. They told me i need a deep root scaling and that i had a cavity forming that needed filling. I told them i’d think about it. 6 months later I switched to Dr. Bruce. They cleaned my teeth, examined them and determined my mouth was fine and didn’t need a filling or a deep root scaling.
Glad i found them!

We are on our second generation with the Lillys (both for them and for us)…I can’t imagine a better dentist.

We are back in LA and back at our favorite dentist’s office! Dr. Lilly fixed my front teeth a year ago and did an unbelievable job! I had 3 crowns done and 1 implant, he did a fabulous job! I got so many complements on how great my teeth look. Plus, people do not believe that these are not my real teeth. They look very natural. Anyway, I know who I will be thankful to all my life for giving me beauty and confidence — our favorite Dr. Lilly. And of course, his staff is literally the most helpful, professional, and nicest staff I have ever seen at any office.

Dr. Lilly is like the Mr. Rogers of the dental community. He is well trained, had a great dad who was also a dentist and he and his entire staff are extremely professional. What’s even better is that he can calm your fears. I had a root canal once and his gentle demeanor while letting you know what to expect put me to ease. I am planning on moving out of state in a couple of years but I think I’ll fly back to Burbank just for my checkups. He is the best dentist there ever was!

My neighbors went there too! Dr. Lilly’s staff is so helpful. Make you feel comfortable — like family. :-)

I had an amazing dentist in Houston, but alas, I’m no longer a Texan. I couldn’t seem to get a dentist recommendation from friends that was actually enrolled in my insurance plan, so I found Dr. Lilly by taking the chance and calling him because I liked the sound of his name. I have MetLife, and he was listed on participating dentists under my plan. So here it goes:
Getting an appointment: The office staff is SO SUPER NICE. So far, so good. Scheduled quickly.
Arrival for appointment: Office is nice and clean. Staff still friendly and easy to work with.
Cleaning: OUUUUUUUUUUCH. No fault of my hygienist., I’ve been slacking and my teeth are killing me. No beauty without pain, right? My teeth are clean and shiny. Yay!
Exam: What the what? I specifically asked for Dr. Lilly, and in walks Dr. Pham. He’s nice enough, but he’s… young. I get nervous with young doctors and dentists. I prefer them to have been doing this all their lives. Dunno why. It’s just a thing I have. Exam is no big deal, but I don’t think he understands how panicked I will be the day of my fillings. I kind of get the impression he won’t be very kind or understanding. I’m a little irked that no one told me I won’t be seeing Dr. Lilly.
Check-​out: They will bill my insurance and ask me for no money. Schedule my fillings quickly and easily. Finally meet Dr. Lilly and it confirms my initial feelings: I would have preferred him to be my dentist. His demeanor is more my speed, and he seems more likely to baby me because I AM A CHICKEN AND I WILL BE FREAKING OUT.
Overall? No real negatives here. I’ll go back and see Dr. Pham because I’m going to trust that Dr. Lilly wouldn’t hire someone incapable. I’ll give him a shot, right after he gives me mine. Ba-​dump-​bump! Lame, I know.
