Burbank’s House of Hobbies

Stopped here while down in the area and was very surprised with the selection. I build model airplanes and they had a very good supply of them. Didn’t end up buying any but will be back in the future to stock up on more. As more Local Hobby Stores close due to the internet they few remaining hobby shops are becoming more important to those of us who like to fondle our models before we buy them. I will be back.

This place is rad! A hobbyists dream!
Got a rusting powder kit, which worked out great. Wish I wasn’t directed towards testors paint when I asked for help — it took a few weeks to dry. Should have stuck with acrylics.

Hard to find a real hobby store where staffs were very knowledgeable, very friendly. The place was clean and full of wonderful things packed up in that space. Awesome!

Super helpful. Went in knowing absolutely nothing about models. I only knew I liked Battlestar Galactica and wanted to try one. They answered all my questions and helped me pick paints, glues, brushes, you name it. I live miles away and it’s still worth the trip whenever I start up a new one.

I went to get a few tamiya spray paint for my Gundam, but end up getting a whole bag of paint. I forgot to use Unilocal check in for 20% off. They have entire selection of tamiya paint, which is what i went for. They do have decent amount of selection for testor and model master.
They have majority of ww2/​modern warfare kit. Very little Gundam. If you are looking for Gundam kits, this is not really the place for you.

What a great hobby shop for those people interested in fine scale plastic modeling. I think they also have diecast models. I went in there today with four small children and came out with a lot of great advice and hours of enjoyment from the models and materials that were recommended. The service at this hobby shop is wonderful and they have great products.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Walked in looking for a deeper translucent red color spray than the Tamiya brand one I bought from another Hobby store that just didnt match what I was looking for. A gentleman helped, answered all my questions and explained to me the different kinds of hobby spray paint and their finishes. I was the info I needed to know and I found the perfect color for what I needed in the Testors brand candy apple red translucent paint. It matched the color paint spray I had from Japan a few years back that I knew I wouldnt be able to get again. I’m glad I walked into this shop and found it.
They have a lot of toy models and die cast vehicles. Though it’s a small store, it’s loaded with lots of things to interest any hobby enthusiast. You can spent some time just browsing through what they have. I also saw some Star Wars merchandise and some Land Rover die cast vehicles that were really nice. Lots of paint iptions as well. I definitely recommend this store. Check them out.

Came in here mainly for some paint and glue for a few car model kits ordered from Japan. Been to a few shops around Los Angeles and these guys have the largest American brand car plastic and collector diecast models.
It seems like Japanese model cars/​accessories from Aoshima, Fujimi, etc… are pretty rare everywhere in the US. Though they do have some Tamiya kits and a complete selection of their tools.
Will definitely be back for some of the USDM plastic models.

Burbank’s House of Hobbies has stood the test of time!
Hobby shops such as these were super popular back in the 80’s when I was growing up. Model airplanes, plastic model cars, model trains, you name. Fast forward to 2015. The House of Hobbies still runs a mean model and hobby shop. I was never into models but my son needed some Pinewood Derby car accessories for his school.
I ordered something off of Ebay from the House of Hobbies then noticed that they were based out of Burbank.
Walking in, the shop has EVERYTHING a model fanatic needs! The prices are pretty competitive as well.
If you need anything Pinewood Derby… they have it! Thanks to House of Hobbies for helping my son out with his derby car.

Been going here for the past year or so now ever since i started building gundams and other model kits. They have the best selection or weathering materials and washes for tanks and other model kits, i buy my pigments and washes here by MIG and the staff there (elvin) helps out with all of my needs. I also love their collection of vallejo paints and other painting accesories. Its a one stop shop for me whenever i need something quick. Their prices are okay. But i always get myself taken care of. Will reccomend for hobbyists !!

One of the few places that sell Vallejo game air and Vallejo model air paints. Very good pirces too.

I recently get back into building scale model, and I am glad that this store is close by and parking is easy. I love paint, and this store has large selection of paints both acrylic and enamel. I prefer Tamiya acrylic paint for airbrush which they have large selection of and well organized. I highly recommend stopping by this store for supplies before searching online.

These guys rock!!! Came in to get a model rocket kit for a hobby day that I’m doing with young ones in my congregation. Ended up getting pine car kits that the kids can paint and customize and race down a hill! The employees were super nice, never pushy, very informative! I would recommend anyone coming here, I’ll definitely be back! Thanks again guys, once again your great!

They are great, the best by far regarding stock and shipping. They are careful and kind.
Whenever I can I buy from them, got tired of being disappointed by the major players that appear in the hobby magazines.
This place is fantastic and I have been buying from them for a long time now, never a complaint.

By far the most friendliest hobby shop ive been in and the service is awesome already got few of gundams from them check them and also they have a lot more other selections of build kits diecasts and other modeling needs

I love this place. Great selection of die cast cars and model kits. I have a hard time leaving the store empty handed every time I go. Their paint selection is deep, varied and kept well in stock. The staff is awesome, its very valuable to me to have a place where I can go and get questions answered or get solid recommendations on new tools and products. Everything is priced well (except for some of the gundams) and I’ve managed to pick up a few steals from their bargain bin area at times.

This was by far the best store I have been to for my scale model needs. It was my first time going there and they have a lot of great choices in cars to purchase. The employees were very nice, it was a pleasure doing business with these guys.

I’m relatively new to the area, only been here a year, and this is absolutely my new primary hobby store. They carry an excellent selection of paints from multiple brands (testors, tamiya, alclad, etc), scratch-​building/​terrain building supplies, good assortment of kits and accessories, and even a selection of Gundams, which is always exciting. Love the finished kits hanging from the ceiling/​chilling out on display shelves (I even spotted some old robotech kits in with the airplanes and armor!)
Very friendly staff, they’ve always been helpful and welcoming every time I’ve stepped into the store. I highly recommend any plastic hobbyist to come in and check these guys out!

They have what you want for your hobby needs.
They don’t carry many of the modern animé models but you come here for the tools, the paints, the glues the everything else and for models they have planes, cars, boats, ships, and war equipment.
They know their business.
Yeah its out in burbank get over it and get over there.
