I have always had great customer service at this location in Burbank. The sales associates are knowledgeable about what they have in the store. Today I was assisted by Diana. The items I had identified on line for purchase were not available at the store. She encouraged me to purchase the items online and have them shipped to the store for free. If the items don’t meet my needs I can do the returns right then. I do recommend both shopping at the store and online. Both experiences deserve 5 stars.

I’ve been coming here for years. I’m glad there are only women associates, because at Lane Bryant they had hired men to help and I was extremely uncomfortable and mortified while shopping there. I’ve always had nothing but extremely courteous help from all of the sales people, but reading the other reviews on here, all I can say is that everyone has their off days. They have a decent selection for casual, business, fancy, as well as lingerie, and although I agree most of the fashions are for the«over 60» set, I usually(but not always) find something. I started shopping here in my early 40’s and now 10+ years later, it is still my go-to place to shop. I’ve gone to Macy’s Woman department to compare when I didn’t want to drag myself to Burbank(where this store is) and found to my shock for the same career slacks, Macy’s wanted over $ 100! That’s more than twice what Catherine’s wants. Combined with the fact there is NO customer service anymore at department stores, I’m a happy Catherine’s customer for life.

I found Nancy to be helpful and I did not think I would get a credit card until she suggested that I try to apply. I had been declined before but thanks to her, I finally got one. I am not crazy about some of the fashions, but then that’s what I get for being overweight. Hope they come up with some nice fashion for the winter.

I am surprised by the reviewer’s comments about unhelpful staff. My experience was very different. In fact, the store associates were always very kind, friendly, and helpful. I always felt very comfortable in the store, even when I was not comfortable with my plus size. I purchased a variety of pieces from this store including a bathing suit, interview outfit, and velvet skirt for the holidays. All fit well and were flattering on this«forty-something» woman. Some styles are too«dowdy» or «matronly» or «conservative» for my age, but I still found a number of stylish things that worked for my professional and social life. You just have to browse the store. Prices were reasonable, good sales, too. I recommend it!

While I have often purchased gift cards in the past for my wonderful step-mother at this store, after today — NEVERAGAIN! When I entered the store, Nancy did not even look up what she was doing while offering a nonchalant«Can I help you?» from her chair. I explained what I was looking for and proceeded to look around the store. I decided that jewelry might be a good option as clothing is often a matter of specific taste and this would also allow a curious, but well-behaved 2 year old to «help» me shop by trying on the necklaces for Grandma. While trying on necklaces, one accidentally dropped on the floor while it was being put back on the hook. Nancy, having absolutely no idea who dropped the necklace, myself or my child, rudely exclaimed«Those are breakable and they are not toys!» I have never been more insulted in any public place with my child! She assumed that my son dropped the fashion necklace(worth exactly 24 dollars, by the way) and proceeded to insult me as a parent and a customer. Maybe Nancy doesn’t like children. Maybe she doesn’t like skinny people shopping at her store. Nonetheless, I will never spend another penny at Catherine’s again. Sorry, Mom. If you like good customer service, try another Plus Size store.

So this is just me, but, please, I am not an über! sensitive girl. Also, I am a lot smaller than I used to be, i.e. most plus-sized stores are too big for me now anyways. THATSAID. Who thought it was a genius idea to put«Plus Sizes» INTHESTORENAME? I can look in the windows of Torrid or Lane Bryant or the Avenue and get that, oh, wow, THESECLOTHESAREBIGGER. There’s no need to put it in the title! Some ladies are sensitive about this stuff! Also the clothes look ugly so I won’t go inside.
