Clockwork Couture

What a cute eclectic shop tucked away in a small back building near the equestrian center. In front is a blue «time machine» phone booth that makes for cute photos before entering. All things Dr. WHO, steam punk everything, unique jewelry, pictures, lots of board games, costumes and custom hats. They also have a variety of loose leaf teas. Which you can enjoy on their patio out back.
The owner also runs a small cat rescue from the store front. They have some toys that customers can play asking with the excitable kittens.
They’ve mentioned certain nights they have get togethers for various craft projects. The owner is sweet and helpful and you can tell she wants to make a difference in her community.
Parking lot is very small but there is street parking.
Check this place out! There’s a little something for everyone.

First time at the shop today. Was very surprised on how much stuff they have. The staff were very nice (even tried to get me to take home a kitten ;)).
As a long time follower of all things «steampunk», this is a place well worth stopping in.

Its not really my thing but it’s absolutely worth going to. Really cool atmosphere, nice people and interesting clothes. My favorite was absolutely the room with kittens. Not time traveling kittens just normal ones.

I love this store! It’s so great to have fun speciality places like this around. It adds character to the city! The events are all really fun too! One of the best parts of living in the area.

As someone who loves coats and jackets, this is the only game in town when buying good looking long coats for men. Many of their items easily found their way into my wardrobe even outside of costumed fun so the quality is there. My wife has bought from them as well and they were happy to assist her when there were issues with her clothing. We also adopted a cat from the owners and she has been a precious addition to our lives.
The store interior aesthetic is wonderful with old world and 19^th century inspired touches and really do help enhance the shopping experience.

I felt bad for the dog the lady was keeping at the shop. The owner kept making mean comments about her. Store was alright, we enjoyed the tardis for photo ops. The cashier was very nice.

What a neat store! Very unique clothes! Everything there is well made with loads of character! Reasonable prices. Customer service is top notch! Couldn’t be happier! Go to this store! You won’t regret it.

This little gem of a place is a new find for me. Such a beautiful selection of steam punk attire including some lovely corsets. I got one along with some other items but those shoes though!!! So amazing! As you can see. I’ll be back for sure.
The prices are a bit on the high side however everything is very well made so it’s worth it. In actuality their corsets are less expensive than my other favorite store versatile fashions. Corsets that are well made last for years. So I believe they’re worth it.

Don’t purchase anything online from this store. The customer service is very bad.
I ordered a pair of boots from them on 11 November, but didn’t hear anything from them until I emailed about them on 19 November. With the Thanksgiving holiday, the boots didn’t ship until 28 November and I received them on 4 December. The boots didn’t fit properly but when I checked my account on their site, I couldn’t find any record of the order. I did find their questionable return policies: the manufacturer’s box must be in the original condition and the return must be made within 15 days. Also, there is a restocking fee, so you don’t even get all of your money refunded.
The box was shipped only in a plastic envelope, so the box was completely demolished. After a fruitless search for how to return the boots (if possible) I finally emailed them on 12 December, well within the 15 day policy. As of today (26 December), I still have received no response.
I am now stuck with a pair of boots I can’t wear and have lost not only my money but any respect I had for this store.
I prefer to shop with small businesses, as long as they behave in a professional manner. This one isn’t worth your business.

This place is fantastic for all your steampunk needs. Shout out to artist Brian Kesinger whose work is on display throughout the store.

When I came here originally it was mostly because I wanted to see a replica TARDIS prop. Over time, I’ve come to greatly enjoy shopping here and try to stop by any time I’m traveling through the LA area. Whether you are a Steampunk devotee or not you will find some very cool things to check out at this store. I’ve been able to pick up some novels, wall art, Doctor Who memorabilia, card games, clothing, and a kitten. Yes, a kitten.
Clockwork Couture also doubles as a cat rescue! You can see the kittens & cats they are currently helping out when you stop by the shop and can also help out via donations. It’s pretty great for a boutique shop to do such a thing. Nerd paraphernalia is some of my favorite stuff, but helping me find the right cat for me is one of the best things any shop has ever done for me.
One more great thing about Clockwork Couture: They have regular classes on anything from clothesmaking to musical instruments, plus they’ve had a few Doctor Who craft faires that are completely amazing. I highly recommend keeping an eye on their Facebook page to see what events are coming up in the near future.

This is a fantastic little shop! They have a variety of steampunk apparel for men and women, as well as jewelry, hats, soaps, teas, and art. Everything is beautiful and well made. The staff and owners are wonderful — super friendly and helpful. They help rescue stray cats, too.
They also have a lot of Doctor Who themed items and a full sized TARDIS outside.

I absolutely adore this store. From unique jewelry to custom hats, Clockwork Couture has your Steampunk fantasy made reality.
Everyone is incredibly friendly from the moment you walk on until you complete your visit. In addition, they have sweet, adoptable kittens and cats. Cats AND Steampunk? Take my money!
The only thing keeping this shop from getting a 5 star rating is their lack of true plus sizes. I find so many things I want to buy, but they don’t carry my size. Bring in more plus sizes and items will be flying off the shelves!

We stopped by as they were closing and the owners were so gracious and helpful, very accommodating even though we delayed them a bit from enjoying their Saturday evening. We explored a bit but were on a mission for a graduation gift. We will be back for more soon!

I’ve been a fan of Doctor Who as far back as I can remember. I started watching during the Peter Davidson years (though Tom Baker was always my favorite… what can I say? I’m a scarf kid a guy). Also, I kind of been interested in Steampunk since 2008 and this place is like the best of both worlds.
I’ve been meaning to come in here and check out Clockwork Couture fro quite some time, but since we no longer live in Burbank and drive around this part of time we just have not had the time. Until recently when they hosted a Doctor Who event.
It was nice to see some fans do a little Cosplay (10 seems to be a lot of people’s favorite) to include myself with the 4^th’s scarf. There were plenty of booths with people selling Doctor Who inspired art, the cool actual Props
Of course, what can be cooler than the TARDIS outside? No really? What?

This place is wonderful. Such a gem! You just have to stop by.
The staff is lovely and very friendly. They are passionate and very knowledgeable about steampunk attire. They will talk to you about anything and help you with everything. You will never find a place quite like this one.
I was expecting this place to be very pricey, but it wasnt at all! Very afforable. Every item ive gotten here has gotten numerous compliments. Im so glad that they are now expanding!

I am getting married in October 2014, and decided on one of their beautiful corsets as part of my dress. (Tea in London)
My friend and I took a trip down to Burbank (kind of a drive from LB) in hopes to get the ball rolling on my dress. Apparently their corset maker is a big deal and doesn’t work in store often, which is fine, but I was really looking forward to some form of service.
We toured the store on our own, I asked about a customized corset and was told to leave my name and information with whoever was in store at the time. I did. That was about 3 or months ago. I haven’t heard from anyone. What a complete waste of my time and gas!
I called the store one week ago to ask about possibly making an appointment. No one knows when the corset maker will be back.
I haven’t heard from anyone still.
So much for my excitement…

Ever since I was little, I’ve kind of had a recurring dream of walking in to some really pretty store and finding nothing but wall to wall vintage dresses. The real kind of vintage… Like, 1800s, early 1900s vintage. I know this might sound weird, or like I’m just priming the review, but it’s actually true. I might have had this dream as recently as a month ago. It’s very strange, but only if you don’t know me.
Walking in to Clockwork Couture was sort of like my dream. I even mentioned it to Dan, but he was probably too busy looking at walking sticks to hear me. It’s very interesting, surreal for me, actually, going in to a room where all they sell is petticoats and corsets. And then you look around and notice there’s a rack, a RACK, of victorian walking dresses. Oh, and boots. Victorian boots. And hats. Like, really? Why didn’t I know about this? Why didn’t I know that enough people were in to this stuff, that it warranted a physical storefront?
Given the name, I don’t have to tell you that this place is decidedly steampunk themed. Which is very cool. I was introduced to steampunk about two years ago… and I don’t know what could ever be bad about it. Anachronistically technological Victorian wears? Who the hell even thinks of these things? I know it’s not me, because I’m not rich. I tell you what, though, if I had thought of it, you could find me flying my brass laser fitted dirigible around the world, making frequent stops to stores like this.
Anyway, I happened to find my way here through the artist, Brian Kesinger. I saw his work on the walls of Steampunk Café, and I was obsessed from there. Turns out that he had a table set up at the Clockwork Couture sponsored «geek chic craft faire», that was being held in the parking lot. I got to meet him, and he got to draw a portrait of me and my devastatingly handsome boyfriend. I think we were all winners in that situation.
Also, there’s a TARDIS replica out in front of the store. Yup. Go, friends. Explore all of time and space. Invent steampunk.

I had a very positive experience shopping here and the shopkeepers really came through for me. I myself have a fascination with vintage clothes and have some items of clothing from different eras.
Things have been acquired over time. For instance last year on a trip to Vegas, I bought a pith helmet, because one never knows when a thing like that will come in handy. Any way, I was going to attend the Egyptian Theater 90^th Anniversary party. The theme was Egypt/​Hollywood/​1920’s.
I already had the hat, pants and top that I was going to wear but I really need accessories to tie the whole look together. Also being that I did not have lots of money to spend I wanted to see things in person so that I can try things on and make sure that I was getting what I really wanted/​needed for my outfit.
The folks there were very welcoming. I told them what I was planning to wear and what I wanted to find. They were filled with suggestions, they were not pushy, and they were eager to show the assortment of pretty things. In the end I bought three things, a harness (to wear around my waist), a belt with a pouch, and a very nice pair of boots that my co-​workers are ooohing and aaahing over.
I have plans to go back. The Edwardian ball is around the corner. In regards to modern day items there are tee shirts and an assortment of blouses that I thought were somewhat «period“looking but that would be quite work friendly. Definitely need to go back.
UPDATE: I went back this last week for a blouse and the place was already decked out for the holidays. I got what I needed — blouse with enviable voluminous sleeves. It tied my outfit together and as expected it got plenty of compliments at my event.
