Miss him dearly everyday. I am reminded of him everyday since his office was in the town that I live. He was a wonderful sweet caring gentle man. I wished that I’d injured my pinky way earlier than this year just to know him longer. If I had the power the go back in time, he would be one of the people I would prevent from passing. RSVP Robert, I will miss you forever.

I knew Robert for 23 years and I considered him not as a friend but as family. He was the smartest man I ever knew. His knowledge of the hand was incredible. The best Hand therapist in existence. Not only was he smart but one of the most caring human beings I knew. He put his patience needs before his. Gentle but strict at the same time. He touched so many lives and saved so many hands. The hand society is at a loss without him. My two kids and I were blessed to have know him and have him in ours lives. I miss him so much as I’m sure many many more miss him also. Love you Robert. Thank You for saving my hand!

robert saved my life. quietly tucked away in burbank was probably the world’s best hand therapist. a miracle worker, in comparison to the average. i personally saw the improvement of so many impossible cases. people who had been elsewhere with little or no improvement. i feel for those whose progress is now muted by lack of access to such a brilliant, healing force.

I was his last patient on his last day on Wednesday December 10, 2014.
It was one of those relaxed moments when he was charmingly talkative and we joked and reminisced about our younger days. It was an honor to have known this amazing man. His incredible talent, creativity and brilliance will never be forgotten by all those he treated. There will never be another Robert.
Thank you for being my hero and someone I’ve trusted and admired for many years. Your value to the world was immeasurable. We will miss you very much.

I heard Robert was peerless in the community of hand specialists and may Robert was one of the best in hand therapists in the world. Robert helped heal my hands and gave me tools to help keep them out of trouble.
It is a tremendous loss for the world.

After four surgeries and three reconstructive surgeries totaling seven hand surgeries, Robt Dorer has given new life to me where there was none. My tendon on my rt hand ruptured due to a surgeon shooting me up with steroids that weakened the tendon and ultimately ruptured four times. It had nothing to due with injuries through no fault of my own via cutting or breaking my hand. I was a fully functional rt handed human being and Robt Dorer is generating positive hope into my physical and psychology world to regain use of my hand again. This is my second time around with Dorer. Unfortunately, the first time was when the tendon already ruptured again. However, I left my current OT to start up with Dorer again! I highly recommend him as he is the only OT that I know who can make distinct custom splints to enhance motion to ones hand. His staff is very helpful and attentive. Robt Dorer is one of a kind!

Hands down, best hand therapist in the business! After a flexor tendon surgery 6 months ago, and a less-​than-​satisfactory rehab with another hand therapy group, Robert Dorer has given me hope!
