Needed a last minute major alteration transformation on a dress I was given to wear as a bridesmaid. The dresses only cost 30 bucks but didn’t fit me very well it was tight and didn’t like the style of the top of the dress. I went to a few places only to be turned away. I have experience at sewing but stopped years ago so I knew what had to be done. I had an idea to cut the dress at the top making it a halter strapping it around my neck then applying a elastic to the back so it would be backless but still hold everything in. Some seamstresses said no that’s too much of an overhaul, others said they were too scared to attempt it they were not confident in their work and said it would cost 65 I didn’t think that was worth risking. I went to this place and right away they were very confident and they were creative thinkers and even suggested more options that were better than what I had in mind. The dresst came out better than expected. Ito find seamstress to hem jeans or a dress but what they do here not only takes sill but creativity. I will never go anywhere else again see my photos. And it cost less than the others 45 bucks

I’ve been to Eagle in Progress a few times for various alterations, and every time I’m amazed by the quality of the work.
Everyone there has always been super friendly, and they work hard and fast for a very fair price. Highly recommend this place of business!
Last time I went in, i popped in after work around 5:30, the seamstresses had already left for the day but Joseph in the front went out of his way to take my measurements and pin my dress himself so I didn’t have to come back (which I would have done no problem, i’m lucky this place is in my neighborhood) Then he gave me a date which was about a week a way to come back for it, but called 3 days later saying it was done. Incredible service. The dress fits like a glove, i couldn’t be happier.

Ms. Lolita is such an amazing tailor & very friendly. Highly recommend for dry cleaning & tailoring.

I was disappointed and surprised. This place had a lot of great reviews on alterations. The gentleman running the front desk was very nice. However the seamstress that hemmed my pants took the wrong measurements and ended up being too long.
They remeasured and offered to fix them.
I went back to pick them up and one pant leg was longer than the other. The same seamstress proceeded to defend her work, saying another lady did this alteration and argued with me to the owner. I was disgusted by her rude demeanor. You should never speak in another language in front of someone that doesn’t understand you. That’s very unprofessional and disrespectful, especially to a client.
Today, the hem on my pants is unraveling. VERY Poor quality of work.
I would not recommend this place for alterations. Instead, find a cleaners that has equipment onsite that doesn’t have to send your clothes out to be laundered.

I just got married on September 20^th of this year and I made a really risky move by buying my wedding dress online, measuring myself and estimating how much length compensation I would need for the 6″ heels I would be wearing. I finally got the dress in and it was beautiful butttttttttt after trying it on I realized they made and train and dress wayyyyyy long, the bodice was superrr loose and they used fabric closure instead of metal (not a good choice for big boobs) So I was in a panic and about a month in a half before the wedding I came to Lolita and Joseph and they literally put all my fears to rest. Lolita tailored it PERFECTLY, it looked beautiful AND I could breathe! They threw in a dry cleaning and the price I paid was cheaper than what I would have paid for just dry cleaning alone at some places. Lolita knows how to work with and enhance natural curves and she truly made me feel like a goddess on my wedding day. When I showed my now husband what the dress looked like before Lolita fixed he couldnt believe what a great job she did. Thank you for your amazing work!!!

Picked up another bridesmaid dress that I had altered last night. Got home and tried it on… they did an amazing job as always!!! 2 thumbs up!

Beyond amazing team! They ate extremely professional and take pride in their work! They always greet you with a smile.
I take everything to be dry cleaned here and I have never had a problem. And to top it off they can tailor anything, literally.
You won’t be disappointed.

Everyone here is very accommodating to your needs! Their work is impeccable and they go out of their way to help. For example, my bridesmaid dress was falling apart at the seams! And the seamstress went out of her way to the fabric location of downtown L.A. to find the corset she needed to insert the day BEFORE my cousins wedding. She really makes you feel like she put her heart into her work. They treat you like family! I will definitely be going there for my next alteration. Thank you everyone!

I’ve had the best experience here and will use them for all of my tailoring needs. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding held out of town. I needed the length shortened, bust tightened, and to create straps from a long piece of fabric originally intended to be a halter. I was so pleased with the pricing and results. The seamstress even made sure to tighten the bust in the middle, rather than the sides so I didn’t get flattened out. I was only charged about $ 50 for all of that! The dress fit amazingly. Then, about 5 days before the wedding the bride decided she wanted us to have these sparkly belts sewn in. I was nervous about the time frame but it wasn’t a problem at all. $ 15 and two days later the belt looked like it was always a part of the dress.
Come time for the wedding and I knew I had found something special at eagle in progress. My dress looked so much better than all the other girls’ who had theirs done elsewhere and paid more money! Everyone asked me where I had all my alterations done and I proudly let them know.
Since then I’ve already had several pairs if shorts altered here too. I have wide hips but a small waist so in order to get shorts to fit I always have to buy them to fit my hips but get them taken in in the waist. I brought about 6 pairs in and the seamstress patiently pinned each pair on me so I knew they’d all fit perfectly. I got a great deal on the price and now I’ve been able to enjoy summer in perfect fitting shorts.
They’ll be seeing me for all of my tailoring. I definitely don’t mind the 20 min drive. better to drive than get a poor job closer to home.

Horrible experiences both times. Yep, I did go back.
Poor quality of work. Wrong measurement taken on my jacket and shirt the first time, delayed delivery and ruined button holes on jacket.
I still went back a second time, and they proceeded to ruin my shirt collar (chemicals burned through the collar), apologized and continued to charge me full price.
I will never recommend this location. They are nice people, but their quality of work is horrible.

I purchased a hand-​beaded wedding dress that needed major alterations — it was at least 2 sizes too big. Due to the fabric, I was told by another seamstress what it couldn’t be fit the way I wanted it. My mom and I found Lolita and not only did she make my dress beautiful, she did it all by hand without cutting the fabric. Amazing!
Lolita also re-​tailored my mom’s dress, a vintage 1940’s piece, and it looks like it as made for her. This woman is truly talented, and lovely to be around. We will use her forever!

1^st thing 1^st i actually made a Unilocal account just so i can post this review. the ladies here should have shrines built to them w/​parades in the streets in their honor. i am tall w/​super broad shoulder and chest w/​small mid section. buying clothes is rather difficult. my roommate gave me a really nice dress shirt for Christmas that sadly did not fit. i went to a diff dry cleaner/​tailor and he pointed me their way (when a tailor recommends another tailor you know thats a good thing) and i took my shirt. not only are they super sweet (it felt like i was talking to my grandma) i felt like i was stealing from them what they charged me to alter my shirt. i picked it up the nxt day and it fit like a glove. i have never worn a shirt like that before and was amazed how diff i looked w/​a shirt that actually fit. i rushed home and brought them a coat i got. amazing work. i will never go anywhere else for dry cleaning/​alterations. :D

Lolita is FANTASTIC! First of all, I’ve never been to a dry cleaning facility before so I had no idea how to describe what I was looking for. I had one item that I needed done in less than twenty four hours, and several with stains and issues that I wanted cared for. They were clearly busy but she assured my dress would be ALTERED AND CLEANED (aren’t I needy?) in less than twenty four hours to accommodate my needs. She was polite and kind to me to boot. Needless to say they made my dress look beautiful, and it was superbly cleaned. The rest of my things I will pick up tomorrow, and I’m sure they will be prefect. I give five stars for excellent service, and for going beyond for me. Thank you!!! Highly recommend!

I finally found my go to place for any tailoring needs. I had a bridesmaid dress that needed to be altered due to the length. Other places I called and visited was charging me more than half of what I paid for the dress.
The ladies were very helpful and finished the work on time. Plus, they make sure that you are comfortable with all the changes made.

Lolita saved my favorite coat when she redesigned and replaced the inner lining. I like it more now than before. After that I asked what she could do with the fraying straps of my backpack. She did not disappoint. There is no perceptible wear and tear, and the stitching can handle heavy use. Lolita is very skilled at what she does.

Lolita is an amazing seamstress!!! I had bought a delicate lace wedding dress that needed to be altered. I had taken the dress to 3 different places and they all refused to work on the dress due to a fear of ripping the lace. Then one of my friends referred Lolita to me and sure enough Lolita was able to do the job. I was blown away with Lolita’s work – my dress came out more beautiful then what i had expected to. Lolita is a gem of a seamstress. Plus, her prices are really reasonable for the quality of work she does.

Dry cleaning — 5 stars… everything always comes out clean, well-​pressed, on time and nothing has ever been lost.
Alterations — 5+++++++ Lolita is awesome at what she does. She truly does have a gift. I’ve brought her all sorts of typical things like pants for hemming, dresses to take in or let out, etc., and they’ve always turned out perfectly. One time though, I took a tote to her that I had bought in Chinatown. It was made with a beautiful fabric on the outside but the inside was that crappy satin material that simply shredded with a few weeks of use. I couldn’t bear to throw it out so I took it to Lolita in hopes of a miracle. She came through for me. She re-​lined the inside with a sturdy material and even made new (bigger and better) inside pockets. The tote was now how it should have been made originally. I LOVE IT! Thank you Lolita! You’re the best!

They do such GREAT work here, I am always happy with all the things that I’ve had altered for my self and my teens. Lolita was able to make a Winter Ball formal dress «school code» acceptable, since it was sleeveless. It ended up looking better than the original design. Out latest «miracle» was with my son’s prom suit. I wish that I could download the before and after pictures of both the dress and the suit. It looked great as if it had been custom made just for him! Another HAPPY alteration.

Brought in a few suit jackets to get tailored/​tapered. They all came out very nice and fit my body exactly how I wanted them to. Lolita is excellent and is willing to accommodate whatever it is you are looking for. Priced very fair (feel free to haggle).
I paid $ 30 to get a jacket tapered /​w vents and sleeves brought in to fit my arms more snug. Haven’t done too many other things here but I’m sure they are capable of doing anything you need them to do in regard to tailoring.
