The trick here is to know who to ask for. Yes they are pricey, but the polish lasts. I use Jenny regularly. She is amazing and as sweet as they come :)

I have been to many nail salons across Burbank as well as other areas of Los Angeles. This has to be my favorite nail spa choice. The staff is friendly and warm. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been here where they’ve stayed late for me or opened early for me. The manager is amazing and is very good at customer service. Be sure to get extra foot massage! I would recommend this place to anyone I know who wants to get a good manicure and pedicure that doesn’t cost a fortune!

From minute one, my manicurist attempted to up-sell me on a gel manicure. I suppose she didn’t take it too well that I didn’t want one. My French manicure was done with just the brush from the polish bottle — no other brush, no clean up, nada but the thick OPI brush. Now, my manicurist was skilled enough to do that without making a mess, but still left me with uneven French tips that looked no better than what I could have done for myself given some extra time, i.e. cheap and lame. I asked her multiple times to make the line of the tips thicker and she ignored me… perhaps because she was also on the phone for over half of our session. All that, however, is not what drove me to write this review. I’ve gone to trusty Unilocal because my manicurist ended the rushed manicure by turning on the small fan on the station and abruptly packing up and racing off to another client who had been waiting(I’m assuming a regular who gets gel manicures?). If you’re just a crappy manicurist, that’s one thing. If you’re a rude manicurist who gives a crappy manicure because you clearly don’t care about a client and would rather go on to another? Well, you shall deserve my Unilocal wrath. I’ve given two stars instead of one because a while ago I was given a truly great French manicure at Eden Spa by a different manicurist who actually treated me like I wasn’t a burden on her day. She was not at the spa this past visit and I would not risk the pathetic excuse for a manicure I just received in order to see if she was back.

My pedicure was painful(I have had many). My nails looked bad — cracked/warped polish 3 hours later. The salon was not well managed and dirty.
