«Are you smart?” – in regards to the not everyday terms for arthritis.
«So how long have you been in the US?” – Asian, not white. Apparently nonwhite people can’t be born in the US?
«Do you speak English?” – proceeded to talk as a person would a toddler. If said yes, it would turn into a «let’s see when you make a mistake» like English only speakers don’t make mistakes. Said no, not really, hoping there won’t be a nasty situation where there is reason to be put down for not understanding some words or not being able to say what’s on the mind.
Wait time can take as long as four hours. They can call you in but you’ll pretty much be waiting in a smaller stuffier room for an hour.
Not even prepared with test results when it’s been so long.
Stuffy & too warm to be comfortable rooms.
The blood tests are taken on the first floor, but they take too much blood without concern.
Over all, experience was not good, or decent. Check the bones, you’re not a darn English teacher. Also, it’s your job to make sure your patient understands the medical terms, etc.
Really tired of racists and microaggression. Will have to go back, but for now – this is it.

I cannot comment on the doctor because I never got to see him.
I booked the appointment, told them I had Medicare, and answered all of their questions. I went to my appointment, filled out the paperwork, they took my blood pressure, weight, etc., and I waited for one full hour in the exam room. Then a woman came in and rudely told me that the doctor couldn’t see me because I «might have Medi-​Cal.» And that it is the office policy to not see patients who might have Medi-​Cal. Huh? I told her that I did not have Medi-​Cal, but she said that she «didn’t feel comfortable seeing me in case I have Medi-​Cal.» What?
Besides that being the strangest policy ever, this office wasted my entire afternoon. Why did they leave me in the exam room for an hour before telling me they couldn’t see me? Am I the first patient to have insurance? Did the office just open yesterday? This place is ridiculously incompetent!
Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else!
