I needed a full replacement of my sewage line to the street and I called several companies… when Ben came and met me from Honest he was super nice, straight up and I chose him. His crew came and knocked it out, replaced my lawn and everything. Truly the best experience ever! So happy I used them!

We had a serious and costly plumbing emergency that we needed advice on what direction to go to solve and rectify the situation ASAP! It happened on a Saturday morning, which made it even more complicated! We left messages with 20 plumbers. Only 3 got back to us that day! We made appointments with all three of them. The first two plumbers gave us their diagnosis and estimates, and it was now clear to us that the situation was even more severe than we had originally thought. One scenario was having to cut through the floor of our living room under wood floors and through a wall and cutting through the cement floor of our garage, at a total cost of $ 8 — $ 10K, money we didn’t have. We almost cancelled the 3^rd plumber, but thank God we didn’t! Ben from «HONEST PLUMBING AND ROOTER» was one of the few people that understood it was a plumbing emergency and showed up within hours of our frantic phone call. Ben listened to us, and was calm and patient. He ultimately came up with a non-​evasive plan (to the interior of our house and garage) that the other two plumbers had not even thought of… AND it saved us $ 2 — $ 4K. We told Ben that we had to have the job complete within 4 days. He said that he could not promise me that he could, but said that he heard us and he would do his best to make that happen. Not only did he have the job complete within the deadline, but he came through on everything else that he promised us. There were a couple of glitches during the process, which happens more times than not with complex jobs, but Ben solved the problems and got us through it without jacking around with the price. Ben’s right hand man, Pedro, who has been with Ben for 10 years, was also overseeing the job every minute of the 4 days it took, and his knowledge and experience was also reassuring. Everyone involved in our massive project was professional and friendly. My wife and I felt taken care of, because Ben listened to us, was patient with us, and took the time to explain everything until we understood it, and this gave us confidence in him. His company name that includes the word «Honest», is not just a catchy name to attract business, it’s the truth! We are sincerely grateful to him, and we’re calling Ben the next time we have a plumbing problem!

I was perhaps hasty with my review below. it appears now that Honest has decided to work with me on this. I will update as we progress.
Dishonest plumbing would be a better name. Be careful here they are blood suckers. Put a lien on my house before the inflated bill came. They were hours late and shoddy work. Your better off with a neighbor kid!

Horrible, Horrible customer service! They could care less about their customers… After 4 phone calls, I was unable to even get an ETA on when they would arrive. The business actually told me to «go ahead an call someone else»!! I did. If I could give this business «no stars» I would. Save your time & money & use another plumber in Burbank!

They created an uneasy day for me, the guy came to my home to empty the septic tank and it only took 15 min. max, after he was gone we experience back up and over flow in the 2^nd bathroom. I panicked called a plumber who couldn’t come until the next day so my 2 son inlaws were running the snake and checking all pipes under the house and couldn’t find anything wrong so we called the guy from Honest and he said he couldn’t do anything until the next day and he would come back, needless to say it was a LONG night. we had no shower so I had to miss work the next day. The next day the supervisor showed up and was very HONEST about what happened apprently his employee was not, he did not empty my septic tank. It took 30 minutes and the plumbing problem is now solved.

I’m updating my review because Phil and Ben have since done a couple more jobs for me. Both of them have consistently been extremely responsive whenever I call with a problem and pricing on each project has been more than fair.
We had an issue with a faucet they’d installed (caused by the part, not by their workmanship) and Phil came out on very short notice and had us back up and running in no time. When I called because our bathtub was backing up (and products from the home improvement stores hadn’t cleared it), Phil was literally there in a half hour from the time I called and had us all set with minimal fanfare within about twenty minutes.
Not only that, Phil is so friendly and pleasant to chat with while he is working. When he is finished, he has always taken the time to walk us through what has been done and answer any questions we may have.

Took weeks to get them over. When they finally came they got here 4 hours late without a call. They may have been honest, honestly expensive! Gave me an estimate for $ 500 to change a faucet in the bathroom stating it was because its 3 pieces not one piece (hot & cold knobs & spicket) like I was born yesterday! Reputable company changed the faucet & replaced the worn out shutoff valves for $ 250. Go elsewhere.

I have been having a lot of septic work done and called Honest Plumbing out to pump my tank. They were very professional and got the job done quick and efficiently. There was great communication between the office and I and will use them again and recommend them to my friends.

Honest plumbing– Ben it the greatest! I’ve been waiting for several days for my septic tank to be pumped. When I called Ben, he said” I’ll be there no problem. He kept his promise and they are here as promised. Jose and Carlos are respectful of the property and very careful when moving my patio furniture etc. They were here in less than 24 hour notice. Can’t beat that! If you have any plumbing issues, don’t hesitate! Call honest plumbing!

Honest plumbing Rocks ! Quality service that we can trust. Don’t be fooled by some of the fake one star reviews. Unfortunate some people have nothing better to do.

Had my shower pan replaced! Great professional job! Beautiful tiles put in. No mess. Great price. Boys were great workers especially the supervisor PHILLIP. I fully recommend this company! Believe me i’m a tuff cookie but they pulled it through! Please disregard all bad reviews posted about them! Just have PHILLIP take care of all your needs! Good luck u won’t be disappointed!

STAY AWAY from this business. My 74 year old mother called in a panic because her water heater was leaking. She had already called these guys and luckily I got there in time. The guy’s looking at the 40 gallon gas water heater in the garage and shaking his head. «Where do you want me to start?» he says. I’ve remodeled homes, and was confused. Sure, there was a lot of water, but it’s just the heater leaking, right? «Right, he says and luckily, he happens to have a 40 gallon heater in his truck for $ 1,400. What about labor? «No, just the tank»
I ask him to leave (he goes to his truck) and I’m already calling to make other arrangements when he comes back «so, I talked to my boss and he’s willing to…». I interrupted him and simply told him since I actually knew what a hot water heater costs and he was willing to cheat a 74 year old living on social security I had no desire to do business with them.
Not sure how people like this sleep at night.
Btw, had the heater delivered and installed the next day for a total of $ 700 (everything included).

Great service, especially for sewer line repairs or replacement. Ben really knows what he is doing and they are very responsive, especially when you have an emergency. Reliable and quick to serve.

Perhaps their honest, I’ll never know? Why? Give them a call, or try 2 calls or give them 2 calls & an email. Well, on my 3^rd call someone answered the phone. VERY RUDE AND COULDN’T CARE LESS If she tried. This was the same voice on the recording i heard yesterday, a vague message that was hard to make out. Hey, you might want to put someone CHEERFUL on the message, I’m just saying.
Since I finally got a live body I figured I would ask the price to unclog a kitchen sink. After a couple of questions she quoted me a price of $ 85 and quickly reminded me that if there was anything out of the ordinary it was definitely going to cost more $$$. I said I didn’t think I was ready for that. I got OK and a hang up. Mr. Owner, David was it. Someone with a personality, a few social skills, a decent attitude might do your business better than you doing a video about your company. From what other reviews I’ve read, it seems rudeness is part of the fare at honest plumbing.

The First time I called this local business was when my water heater broke. I advised them I was a mother with small children at home. I was very surprised that they responded within the hour. Ben was very professional and curtious. I was expecting to pay a lot more for my improved quality replacement water heater, that was in 2005. I have used them many times since. I have never hesitated to refer them to family and friends for large or small plumbing issues as well as water damaged homes. This family owned local business will have my business for all of my future plumbing needs. I know that I can count on them them for quality work at affordable pricing.

Honest Plumbing is the kind of business that should be sought out by those who appreciate professionalism with personality! It’s clear to see that this service cares for it’s customers. I had originally posted an honest detailed review on how horrible my experience was with Dis Honest plumbing, but I was bullied into taking it down. All I can say is calling them was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made! Be careful!

They did not show up to a job this morning and then when called about it, the husband/​owner rudely told me that he couldn’t even fix my problem. When I informed him that the lady I spoke with yesterday told me they could fix it, he stated, «Well, I never said that, it was my wife».
Save yourself the time and go with a company that is reliable with good customer service.

EDIT: THIS BUSINESS IS CURRENTLY THREATENING TO SUE ME AND MY FAMILY IF I DON’T REMOVE THIS NEGATIVE POST. His attorney contacted me via registered mail threatening a law suit if I don’t remove the posting within 10 days. Suing your dissatisfied customers? Really? Good luck running your business this way buddy. Word gets around whether you like it or not. It’s not a surprise that I’m not the only 1 star review on here. You can’t sue all of us, but I wonder how many more have been taken down?
Written 4÷16÷14, edited 5÷21÷14: «This guy had me start the job based on a good, low bid and proceeded to raise the price after my portion of the work was underway. This just happened 5 minutes ago so this is my clearest recollection of events.
He originally quoted me $ 6500 to replace the water main. We worked out a price for a new copper water main at $ 3500 if I dug the trenches. He then told me that if I wanted to pay with a credit card he would need to charge me an extra 1−3% possibly if my card was a certain type of rewards card. Then, he told me, after looking at the card, that he would need to charge an extra 6%. So I play along and agree to the 6% because I had no other payment method and I thought the price would stick there. At that point, I went and dug the trenches. When I asked about the permitting process he told me that would cost an extra $ 200/​hour for his time with city plus whatever the permits cost. „I don’t mind paying an added cost directly to the city for permits, but $ 200/​hour is very high for your time“, I said and he replied, „Well, that is our rate for the install and all the work we do“. I said, „Wait, you quoted me $ 3500 for the job + 6% for CC payment.“ He said, „No, I told you $ 3500 – 3900 and I will, of course, have to charge by the hour for our work.“ This was the FIRST I’D HEARD OF THIS PRICING MODEL OR THE FIGURE $ 3900. I replied, „I feel like you are trying to drive the price up now that I have a trench in my front yard and leave the door open to raise the price even more during the job. You and I agreed on a price and I have no problem walking away if you are going to continue to increase it.“ He said, „Ok you know what? We’re good. We’re not going to do the job.“ We both said goodbye and hung up. This is what I get for trusting this guy enough (because he’d done work for us in the past) to let him bid a big job without having it in writing.
WALK AWAY!!! THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER PLUMBERS IN BURBANK/​GLENDALE. They don’t deserve your business.»

I needed a plumber so I looked in the YellowPages, when I saw the name ’ Honest Plumbing’ I had to laugh and thought ’ woah, red flag’… But I figured what the hell anybody with the temerity to use that name is either the real deal or a complete sham.
I can say wholeheartedly that Honest Plumbing is not a sham, Ben and his crew is the real deal.
Professional, knowledgeable, respectful, well-​spoken, clean and I do believe indeed ‘honest’.
I don’t know what reveiws here are real or staged, but I can say that this company has done some very good work for me both in diagnosing my main line issues and quickly fixing them. Is he the cheapest plumber in town? Probably not, but he is without question the best plumber I have ever hired! His and his men’s work is done right; detailed and complete, with the best materials that won’t fail in a couple of months or a year and after what I have been through with contractors I find tremendous value in that. The comment someone made here about finding a part at Home Depo for less concerns me because while I can understand that, what people often don’t understand is that there is a huge difference in quality and longevity between one brand or type of valve/​widget and another so I don’t put any weight at all on a comment like that.
Ben came to my home to help me with a nasty backup, but within 15 minutes he not only diagnosed where the real issue was, but exposed a terrible flaw in the installation that a contractor had done at my home a couple of years before which more than likely has greatly contributed to if not altogether caused my problem and now I am on track to have all that fixed. This man knows what he is doing.
If you want a truly great and dedicated plumber, who knows and cares about his work and your home and will charge you a fair and realistic price I urge you to use this company. if on the other hand all you are looking for is dirt cheap prices and aren’t worried about dirt cheap workmanship… Use somebody else and good luck to you.
I will use Honest Plumbing again and again for whatever I may need because I know that the job will be done well, my issue will be solved completely and at the price quoted.
