Not the nicest experience. One blonde was a total sweetheart, but the rest of the group could take some lessons from her. Probably won’t go back. There’s a few other places on 79^th Street that are a lil bit more personable.
Also told me they couldn’t do my alterations, however I took it to another spot a few blocks away and they were more than happy to do it.

I love you Hugo!!! So I bought a DVF dress for an event I had to attend a few months in advance. I lost some weight, didn’t try my dress on again until the morning of said event, and of course, it was a little big!
Normally, I’d have been jumping for joy, which I was on the inside, but on the outside, I started to panic.
I’d remember seeing Hugo’s sign a million times while driving down 79^th Street so I hopped in my car, dress in hand, and said a little prayer.
Hugo has a tailor on hand, who was luckily still there that day. I explained my situation, which I’m sure they said to themselves, «stupid girl», but they gladly had me try on my dress, stick it with pins and had it ready for me to pick up, altered and pressed, in a matter of 3 hours.
They truly saved my day, and it only cost $ 20…at that point, I probably would’ve paid twice, if not triple that amount.
So, thank you, Hugo’s!
FYI: they don’t accept credit cards, so bring cash
and updated: I’ve brought alllll my dry cleaning to them since this incident, and have been super happy with the results!
