Operation Adopt

This facility provided by TAPS [The Animal Protectorates] is a fabulous place to adopt a pet. The staff is friendly and helpful to everyone who walks in the door. Their loving care of all of the cats, kittens, and dogs is evidence of their sincere desire to find «forever homes» that are win-​win situations for the pets AND for the adopting family. The adoption prices are more than reasonable, considering the animals have been spayed or neutered and have had at least one round of vaccinations. Often they will do a «foster to adopt» situation where you get to try the animal out in your home to see if all is working well for everyone involved. Their home visits will confirm your safe home for the animal, too. Stop in and visit this ultra clean facility!

Rude & Terrible. 6 weeks ago a friend’s neighbor called this «Operation Adopt» organization in need of help with some feral kittens. She lives in a house surrounded by neighbor’s with large guard dogs. «Operation Adopt» said they would help take in the kittens when they were born. I was contacted/​referred to trap the mom, because I do TNR daily. When I saw the situation over there, I had to take in the kittens immediately before they were eaten by these dogs (out of the goodness of my heart, it was the right thing to do of course). They needed to be bottle fed which I did daily. I was told Operation Adopt would help when the kittens were born. I personally am only allowed one cat and one dog at my place, I have a landlord. This litter has 8 kittens in it. Basically the lady «Shelley» who answered the phone said there’s nothing they will do to help, and that they only take kittens out of shelters. So she’s basically promoting taking kittens to «kill shelters» because they won’t help otherwise. Then she «HUNG UP ON ME» after I explained my situation! How incredibly rude to treat someone who saved these kittens lives and is just trying to find homes for them without them having to go into a kill shelter. RUDE RUDE RUDE You would think this rescue would have some compassion and help out the community, rather then just «HANG UP ON THEM» and not offer any assistance what so ever after someone else at that establishment said they could help! I just helped rescue 8 kittens that would have been eaten by large dogs or become feral and made more kittens in the long run. We should all work together in this world saving cats & never treat anyone who helps rescue in this manner! Go to the shelter rather then dealing with this rude Shelley person who said she’s the «director of operations». They obviously have lack of communication there when one person says «they can help» and then she just «Hangs up on people». You should consider the cats they have at Operation Adopt «saved» already and instead go to the shelters yourself to rescue other cats that are in danger!

Beautiful store! Great workers and store is perfectly organized and smells fresh! I bought some purple doggie bags with hearts on it! So cute!

This place is a wonderful addition to the Magnolia Park neighborhood. Operation Adopt saves animals from high kill shelters around the LA area and brings them to this clean, comfy, and inviting store front. They are made available for fostering/​adoption only after being checked out and treated (if necessary) by the vet, and spayed/​neutered. They are cared-​for by the most loving of volunteers and fosters and it is evident in their wagging tails and fun-​loving interaction with their «roommates».
Besides having adorable dogs & cats of all ages ready for their forever homes, the store also carries treats and food, leashes, harnesses and collars for your pets, as well as the best, least-​cheesy, animal-​related T-​shirts and gift items for yourself. The best part about buying here is that all proceeds from store purchases and adoption fees go right back to caring for the animals!
I could go on and on about how great this place is but just come by and see for yourself! You can also check out their Facebook page that is updated daily with photos of the pets that are available, as well as happy adoption stories :).

I absolutely adore this place. All of the dogs and cats are rescued from high-​kill shelters throughout California and it is completely non-​profit so everyone in the store is a volunteer and 100% of the proceeds go to helping more animals in need. All available pets are spayed or neutered, up to date on shots, and micro-​chipped. It is so great to see the wonderful community of Burbank (and many surrounding cities!) come together for such a great cause. Did I mention it is spotlessly clean?! This is a great place to visit if you are looking to adopt, foster, shop, volunteer, donate, or just get a little animal TLC.

After contacting various rescue groups and going to countless shelters around LA, my partner and I stumbled upon Operation Adopt.
The staff were very friendly, the hours were great for 9 to 5 workers like us and the store was clean, fun and full of happy animals. We quickly fell in love with a small poodle mix and had no problem meeting her and finding out her history. The store gave us lots of advice as we fostered her and when we decided to adopt her they all celebrated with us and made us feel like family.
I cannot recommend this play highly enough. Not only is the service great but they are really helping animals get adopted that might not otherwise have found homes.
So glad we found this place.

I can’t adopt another pet, but I do go here for pet goods. I feel great knowing that I can find the same high quality dog foods and Dog for Dog peanut butter and other treats here as I previously bought elsewhere, but now I can also support Operation Adopt. They are doing great work here so I enjoy shopping here. They also have leashed and other accessories. As others have said, it is extremely clean and smells nice and the animals look great and are extremely well cared for.

LOVE this animal rescue store! Not only are the animals adorable (dogs and cats of all ages), but the store is so well-​organized, immaculate, and staffed by super volunteers (who welcome «lookie loos».) There’s also a wide selection of fun leashes, harnesses and collars, and the best animal-​related T-​shirts in town — And every dime goes to rescue more homeless animals. Operation Adopt is doing amazing work in saving and placing forever, as well as providing animal treatment education. So happy this store is in Burbank!

This is a really great neighborhood pet shop — all the animals are adorable and recently rescued, and all of the proceeds from pet food and product purchases go to helping local animals in need. The people who run the organization and volunteer at the shop are super cool.

Three words that sum up Operation Adopt.
While the store is still coming into its own (as it just recently opened), it’s already established a safe-​haven for animals that have long been ignored.
Not only do they rescue and foster both canines and felines from high-​kill shelters, but they put every penny into the animals’ well-​being. Be it for grooming, medical or surgical – all profits go directly to the furry friends’ needs.
The store itself has a great selection of items (like a dog lunchbox kit of sorts) and the open environment allows for anyone to interact directly with both the dogs and cats – which is my favorite part. As a dog-​lover, it’s awesome getting to see, pet and play around with canines that are getting new leashes on life (yup, pun intended. I went there).
This is a great addition to Magnolia Blvd that I definitely enjoy on my normal walks around town (especially because the dogs joyously flip out when you pass). It also helps that it’s sandwiched between some groovy coffee houses and a wine bar so you can typically sit and dog-​gaze when they trot ‘em out for walks.
Not your average pet store, not your average pet adoption organization. Thoroughly dig what they’re doing and definitely recommend taking a trip over if you’re looking for a pet.
