I sought out help for a condition know to most as «incurable», Tinnitus; ringing in the ears. I’ve been plagued with this debilitating condition for 3 years. Dr. Gerardo is the first and only doctor who has given me hope, relief and given me light at the end of my very dark tunnel. The work he is doing on my jaw is so incredible. He is extremely intelligent and intuitive. His techniques are so well thought out and this man truly cares about my well being. He makes me feel he is determined to help me through this. I’ve never felt more sure about choosing a doctor to help me through my journey. This man is off the charts, hands down, a healer.

You’re an INCOMPETENT AND UNEDUCATED FOOL! (I have harsher words but you’re really not worth my time to list all of them)
I’ve done medical billing in the past with with a chiropractic office that had similar issues that Dr. Gerardo has had with his prior medical billers. Since you need to blame them for the their former medical billers incompetence, let me give you an update.
Since the beginning of 2015, they started doing their medical billing in house. Ever since they took over, everything has been done correctly and efficiently. If there was any problems or misunderstandings, they were on top of it and took care of it asap.
Based on your review last year, you apparently don’t understand how medical billing works. If they were «double dipping» as you say, you didn’t ask for a refund? I’m pretty sure you did because they refunded all my office visits at the end of 2014 when my insurance paid for those visits. Your painting a picture that their practice is dishonest which is NOT TRUE. You’re just incompetent and do not understand how the medical insurance industry works.
You said your insurance re-​imbursed you? Then why are complaining at all? If you did get a refund from Dr. Gerardo’s office and then got your money back (some or all of it), then why are you bitching and complaining? It sounds to me that all of your office visits, essentially have been FREE! I wasn’t as lucky but at least I received my office visits back at the end of the year.
No practice in any health industry is perfect, especially when dealing with the health insurance industry. I understand your frustration but I also sympathasize with Dr, Gerardo’s office because they relied all of their medical billing to 2 INCOMPETENT medical billers. Dr. Gerardo’s office were the middle people who had no control of what was going on because they had to wait on the medical billers to give them answers that patients asks of Dr. Gerardo. So of course, people like you have to blame somebody when you really don’t understand what is really going on.
So if this situation was resolved with 1 phone call and you had to wait 7 months because Dr. Gerardo’s office had to wait 7 months, then why didn’t you initiate it within 1 – 2 months later when you were so unhappy about it? I wouldn’t have waited that long. That is partly YOUR FAULT in my opinion. You can’t blame all of that with Dr. Gerardo’s office since (again) they had no control because they were waiting for a response from their former medical biilers.
This update is a defense for Dr. Gerardo and his staff because he is a great chiropractor in his specialized field of TMJ & TMD. Without his help, the pain in my face and head would be unbearable. His staff is outstanding, they’ve been very understanding, accommadating and truthful in their practice and services.
People like you should be ashamed for leaving a bad review about something you have no idea about. And then you have the AUDACITY to ask an apology from Dr. Gerardo about this?! They’re lucky that they don’t have to deal with your negative attitude and crap you wrote about him. Good RIDDENCE!

Our family has been going to Dr. G for years and we love it! My wife has had issues with jaw and cranial issues and he has helped relieve all her pain. my daughter even started walking a week after he adjusted her for the first time! We highly recommend Dr. G and his staff, everyone is very courteous and accommodating and the care is top notch!

My entire family and I have been patients of Dr. Gerardo’s for over a decade. He is our «family» doctor and we go to him 1^st for everything. I can only remember once or twice he had to refer us to someone else. We love how he will always tell us what he can & cannot do. He has helped us heal allergies, broken bones, TMJ, ear ringing and so much more! I would not be as healthy and active as I am without Dr. Gerardo’s advice & guidance. He simply is the best health practitioner I have ever met. His education and experience is extensive, and he is the top in the nation for TMJ. I have met people from all over in his office throughout the years. Impressive how he has patients fly in from out of state (even Alaska) & international, to be treated by Dr. Gerardo.
As all businesses have issues, Dr Gerardo is not immune to this. If we have ever had a scheduling or payment problem Dr. Gerardo and his staff always resolves them and they are honest with any difficulties they may be having. There was an issue with his billing but they resolved it asap. I am in the health care industry and am very aware of the issues our citizens are having with health insurance. What I can’t stand is when frustrated people blame small private health practitioners for what the greedy, dishonest, insurance companies are truly doing. They are lying to everyone! They tell a doctors office calling in to verify coverage one thing and then say something 180 degrees in the other direction the next week or to a patient. Insurance companies say they will cover a certain amount but they don’t. They end up short changing the doctors and patients. Private Health Practitioners are victims of the bogus health insurance coverage just as much as the actual patient/​client. If insurance companies win doctors like Dr Gerardo will cease to exist or be able to afford to practice.
I would recommend Dr Gerardo to anyone for anything! Newborns, autism, migraines, depression, and all basic family health care. I will always send my children to him for anything. He is truly the 1 Stop Shop.

Beware of their billing practices! Here’s the short story: Last year, they were «in-​network» w/​Anthem BCBS. This year they decided to go out of network but continued to bill my insurance as if they were in-​network by charging nearly $ 300 per visit. This was all WHILE I was still paying them their normal fee per visit. Yes — they were double dipping. My insurance co. then started sending me reimbursement checks, but Dr. Gerardo’s office told me I had to give them the checks. I asked why… if I am paying them per visit, then this money should be mine. They then told me that if I were not going to hand over the checks to them (because, as they said, they were «not getting paid»), that I had to void the checks and send them back to my insurance co. and send them copies of the voided checks because my insurance would ask for the money back. Dr. Gerardo himself got on the phone with me and told me that he didn’t know why his billing service was charging so much, but that it would be «illegal» for me to deposit these checks. In fear, I then voided the checks.
After dealing with their incompetence for nearly 7 months…7 months of agony and keeping track of every little detail, EOB, credit card charge, correspondence via mail and e-​mail, I decided to call the insurance co. myself. All it took was a 3-​way call when the insurance co. told Dr. Gerardo’s office that these checks were mine to keep in order to pay for services rendered by providers who are out of network. All of this agony over a 7-​month period, and this office could not get it together to solve this simple problem that I solved with one phone call!!! Crazy!
Earlier in the process, I had told them they needed to fire their medical billing service and get a new one: they told me they already had done this and this is a new service they’re using. They even asked me for a good time period for their east-​coast billing service to call me as they were going to «explain to me» what to do with the checks and how the process works: I never got that call. Over all those 7 months, they told me they were in correspondence w/​my insurance co. and were waiting on direction from them. All I did was make ONE PHONE CALL and the problem was solved. The insurance co. then had to re-​issue me new checks.
Not only that. If you go to this office, KEEP TRACK OF EVERYTHING. When they were asking me for payment, saying I was short, I asked them for a statement of all services. The statement was INACCURATE! They showed less payment than I had made. I had to e-​mail them proof of the charges on my credit card IN ORDER FOR THEM TO CORRECT THEIR RECORDS!
Dr. Gerardo should really call me to apologize for their mix up and their incompetence at finding the solution to a simple problem that they caused.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gerardo (a.k.a.” Dr. House” as I like to call him) for FOUR years. I have several health problems and severe TMJ/​cranial issues. I was literally bed-​ridden when I started seeing him and have been through a lot of treatments because I am such a complicated case.
I see Dr. Johnson along with DR. Gerardo because they both work together to treat the TMJ. These two doctors believed how much horrible pain I was in and gave me hopeful options when other doctors had dismissed me as a case of «depression» just because they couldn’t figure out what was wrong in my body. I am still a patient only because I couldn’t afford to keep going with my orthotic treatment for two years and kept going with the second phase of my treatment until last December so I hope to fix the TMJ and «fade off» from both drs in the near future. However, I will still see dr. Gerardo for maintenance because I want to and he has become part of my entourage team of healing doctors. I believe in his holistic technique for treating the whole body.
After seeing SEVERAL drs, dentist and chiropractors I have not come across any other professional who is so knowledgeable and skilled at treating my conditions. He really does practice a holistic, whole body treatment approach with his patients. I would HIGHLY recommend him for ANY health problem. Yes ANY. He is not your run of the mill chiropractor. He gives you high quality treatment yes but you have to be open minded and trust his experience in the field. As we often joke around saying, «no wimps allowed!». I have already recommended three people all of which were happy with his treatments.
The wait time can be long but it is because like the other review said, he takes his time with each person and does care about giving each patient the quality treatment they deserve. So be blunt with what you feel and the trust his technique so you don’t waste his or his patients’ time.

I have been under Dr. Gerardo’s care receiving Chiropractic and Cranial-​dental treatment for ten months, and after amazing results, I am now able to «phase out» of my appointments. Originally, I was referred to him due to TMJ and severe dizziness symptoms I was having. He took the time to evaluate my situation and determined that in addition to my TMJ, I had experienced adrenal exhaustion. With his attentive treatments and well thought-​out holistic approach with nutritional supplements, he eliminated my jaw pain and dizzy symptoms. Thanks to Dr. Gerardo, I have regained my energy, and am able to return to my busy life which includes managing multiple businesses, as well as taking care of children. Dr. Gerardo combines his extensive education and experience with an intuitive methodology. I highly recommend him to any one who is seeking a continued sense of reassurance and effective results.
