Our central office is located in the heart of the entertainment industry in Burbank, California servicing the dynamic, educated, creative patients that work at the Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers Studios, NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, Universal Studios Hollywood as well as all of the support service industry professionals that make up the entertainment industry. Business Owner

Dr. Dubick has practiced in Burbank for more than 20 years. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and an MBA from the University of Redlands. Dr. Dubick is currently the President of the California Optometric Association. Dr. Dubick was recently appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the California State Board of Optometry. He is also the Treasurer of the American Optometric Association Political Action Committee.

Dr Dubick is Past President of the San Fernando Valley Optometric Society, and served as a member of the American Optometric Association Disaster Preparation Project Team and Chief of Eyecare Services for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee.

Dr. Dubick is an ophthalmic industry consultant, improving corporate image and relationships with independent eyecare providers. He consults to optometrists nationwide and is author of a business column for eyecare professionals and lectures on «the business of practice.»

I hate writing bad reviews but I have to agree with the others about the rudeness level at this practice. I’m not naming names and I would like to say the receptionists are lovely and they take Medi-​cal. But I had two rude doctors. Grumpy and irrogant. I can take grumpy if their work is good but my prescription was wrong. I got glasses made. (Not there because they quoted me $ 800. Seriously? I’m not working at the moment and am lucky that Medi-​Cal would pay for the examination. When I told them I had a Warby Parker frame that I was getting filled at Costco for $ 189 because I couldn’t afford $ 800 they lowered it to $ 700. This wheeling and dealing with price made me realize they were screwing people for what they could get. They were pretty nasty in general, putting Warby Parker and Costco down and I was so embarrassed. They obviously make good money selling frames. Anyway, after getting my glasses made at Costco, I couldn’t see distance well. The lenses matched the prescription perfectly so I went back to Studio eyes for a recheck. And they had made a mistake. But rather than admit it was a error I got, «Well, there’s a little something we could do but it’s no big deal.» WTF? No big deal when you’re on the freeway and can’t read the freaking signs?! The EXACT SAME THING happened to my sister, too. (This was with progressive lenses.) I don’t know what’s up with that but I will never go there again.

i’ve been going to StudioEyes for many years and have always had a wonderful experience, especially with the customer service provided there. They have a stellar staff that is happy to help out and make you feel super comfortable. Marie at the front office is a seasoned, warm and caring employee, with a keen eye for picking the right frame to suit your face. She knows what your needs are, based on your budget, personal style and prescription. Time after time she has picked out just the right pair of glasses for me. Overall — i give this business an A+

I’ve been a patient of both Dr. Shuham and Dr. Dubick for a little over 10 years and wouldn’t think of going to another doctor. Dr. Dubick is the man, dude is hilarious! They just know their stuff, and always have an answer whenever I have any issues with my eyes. I always appreciate the friendly staff, Barbara is the best! She has helped my pick out every frame I have gotten and has never steered me wrong. I love the variety and know that I will always find something I like. This is a great eye doctor for anyone who lives or works in the area!

I have been a patient of Studio Eyes Optometry for more than 20 years and would not dream of going anywhere else. Over the years I have seen Dr. Shuham and Dr. Dubick and have always received excellent professional advice dispensed in an attractive and attentive setting. The rest of the staff, led by Barbara, are polite and efficient. I’ve rarely had to wait to be seen. Everyone on staff is professional and courteous. The selection of frames is extensive and prices are fair.

I have been seeing Dr. Dubick for years, so this review is long overdue. The Studio Eyes team are all great! Dr. Dubick is friendly and easy to talk to, has a genuine desire to help you and listen to you. I appreciate his thoroughness. They use a computer to document all his notes from the exam, and the technology is a plus. The pre-​exam tests and prep work by his associates are also very thorough and they explain all the tests very patiently and politely. I always enjoy going to visit them.
All in all, I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an optometrist in the Valley.

I’ve been going to this practice for over 15 years and I have to say I think some of these 1 – 2 star reviews are pretty funny. I was recently in LA and paid them my yearly visit and surprise surprise, my visit was dandy (minus my vision deteriorating). Here’s my review:
Location: The current location is great. It’s vibrant, the displays are awesome to look (I actually start trying things on immediately), and it’s constantly clean and tidy. Very easy to access by freeway. The biggest con is that they’re not located in SF.
Staff: I’ve met most of the staff over time. Dr. Shuham is friendly, extremely patient, and thorough with exams, even if (like me) you’re constantly running late. News flash people: no doctor, lawyer, restaurant host, etc. is obligated to keep your appointment if you don’t show up on time. Monica and Camilo have done my pre-​exam test thing in the past, and they were both wonderful. Generally, everyone is pretty badass.
Product: They usually have the latest trends in stock. If they don’t, I usually show them a photo of what I want and they check to see if they can get it or they point me to something similar. They’ve tried to persuade me into the whole contact lens thing but I have this irrational fear of my finger touching my eyeball.
Overall, I’d recommend a visit there. It’s pretty legit.

Melissa, the receptionist and assistant is the best part of this practice. I’m so unhappy. Dr. Ellen Shuham was extremely rude and the staff called my one year old «terrible» while he was sitting on my lap quietly drinking water (huh), and when I mentioned it, she giggled and said it was a joke. Note: this business is not kid friendly so if you happen to have kid (s) find another practice you’ll be happy you did.
First the aesthetics — there are no windows, very dark and non welcoming.
Second: we were running behind I called to reschedule, the staff suggested coming in, but when I did the doctor stressed she didn’t have time to be thorough. She said, «we don’t have time.» Wait, but I called and your assistant said you had time and if you don’t have the time will my insurance have to pay the total or half… Hahaha (but not a joking matter)
Third: if you’re planning to be serviced here please do not go to Dr. Shuham, but if you must, try Dr. yazdammer I hear she’s much more patient and you won’t feel rushed or like a second class citizen.
Finally, I suggested this business to a friend. She came along to have an exam… ugh worst decision ever. She left feeling the exact same way. Hope this is helpful.

Pros:
Dr. Dubrovnik is a good eye doctor in that he was able to figure out my contacts in the first go. The doc I went to previously had me go in multiple times and try several trial pairs until she figured out the right fit.
The girls that work the front desk are super sweet.
Cons:
Dr. Dubrovnik is a little short (not physically… but in the way he answers questions). Comes off as condescending but if you’re kind of sarcastic and are knowledgeable about your needs, you should be fine.
Their contact lens examination fees are on some really weird, inexplicable sliding scale. When I first made the appointment, I was quoted at $ 100. Then it was $ 175 on the day of my visit. And then it became $ 150 when I finally paid. I would have been more OK with that if they were able to explain where the difference came from but all we got was «it all depends…»

I really don’t care for Dr. Drubrick. I like the rest of the office and have been a patient for many years, but I have finally decided the good is not worth the bad (Dr. Drubrick). During my last visit, I was hesitant to go with his recommendation for my eyes and he belittled me and insulted me. He told me if I felt that my opinion was worth more than his trained one, then good luck to me. Such poor taste. Previous to this encounter I have never cared for his demeanor, aloofness.

The worst customer service ever!!! I arrived to pick up my glasses 5:28, and they were not opening the door, there were inside I could the voice, after 5 minutes knocking and calling someone open the with very nervous and annoyed face expression and told me that she closed the door at 5:30, but I was there 5:28, nevertheless I was just picking up my glasses nothing 1 min thing and I was going out of town it was Friday, and she’d not give it to me saying that we are closed!!! It’s seriously ridiculous how pathetic person can be!!! what kind rude and careless customer service is this !!! Hello this is America you have to provide excellent customer service to be able to compete in this country, with all the optometrists around the town!!! I’m giving them 1 star!!! Worst customer service over!!!

This place is absolutely amazing!!! Their customer service is phenomenal and in a way surprising because you just don’t find a lot of people as nice as they are. Which is kinda sad if you think about it. They have been so accommodating. Their service is quick, the employees are friendly, and they really just want to help you out. I got my first pair of glasses here, and when they broke they were quick to help! I’ll be getting all my glasses here from now on. You guys are awesome! Thank you!!!

I had a full eye exam last week and I was very satisfied with the technician as well as the doctor’s very thorough explanation of my eye health. I received my new eye glasses today and they look great. I highly recommend their office. I would like if they had a larger selection though. The sales woman told me my glasses would be ready in 7 – 10 business days, but I received them 5 business days.

Horrible, rude service from Dr. Drubick! Don’t go there!!! Staffs are sweet and nice. I won’t go there again after seeing him the 3rd visits. I am done with his rudeness. I won’t pay for his horrible treatment!!! My first time went to this place I saw Dr. Yaz and she made me feel comfortable but every time I went back there after I saw different doc. One time I saw Dr. Drubick’s partner and she made me waited for more than half an hour with no other patients around except me. I had to walk out of the room 3 times to get someone attention and finally saw someone who can talk to me and the doc finally come out of her office and said sorry. Then, I was late for my next appointment at other place!

Excellent! I was afraid of going back to this place because I had a bad experience with a Doctor who is no longer there! This time around I got to see Dr. Dubick who was very kind! Few days later I made an appointment for my husband and son. They booked us in right away. The staff is super friendly and the new doctor (Dr. Yaz)
is great! Went in with my 3 year old and we are really happy! Parking is quite the pain (street parking) but if you get lucky, no problem! My 3 year old (1st time check up) still talks about the «horse & ducks». They gave him a great experience, a non-​traumatic 1st time! Highly recommend!

I’m glad I’m not the only one here… I had the distinct displeasure of interacting with a certain Dr. Drubick. From the moment he walked in to the exam room, his demeanor was pointedly rude. His snide remarks about me personally and backhanded courtesies were a poignant wake-​up call.
I am surprised the man is employed at a place where everyone else is so kind, patient, helpful and warm. It makes me wonder where the owner’s heart lies, pun intended. I won’t even go back to get lenses through my insurance, and ultimately this is why they get 1 star. This reflects poorly on the entire business.

Dr. Drubick was unpleasant enough that I stopped going there after several years of being a customer. He could benefit from a course or two in people skills, because in addition to being en eye doctor, he needs to learn a little bit of customer service. My money will not be spent where I am being talked down to. The office, on the other hand, has a nice staff and selection of frames and is conveniently located. I choose to go elsewhere, thank you.

Avoid Dr. Dubick, he isn’t very warm or understanding during the appointment and is kind of a jerk. I scanned down these reviews and saw multiple people had the same experience. Just request a different doc!

Everyone here was really nice and I loved my frames! They had pretty trendy glasses and brands.
The only downfall (which is why I didn’t give them a 5 start was because the doctor seemed like he was in a rush and would of liked a little more of his undivided attention.
Otherwise the service and quality was there for this establishment
