They had my product @ best price and were very helpful and pleasant. I will return for sure!

Several of these stores have shut down. I had been away for awhile, came back and suddenly the prices were as much as $ 4.00 more per item over night This used to be the best supplement chain ever… WTF!

Love this spot but honestly if the manager is not working don’t bother unless you know exactly what you need.

Been coming here for years thinking I have been getting great prices on workout supplements, just spent 130.00 on some protein some bcaa’s, fish oil, creatine and a multivitamin I was satisfied, then someone told me about a place in Chatsworth called Nutrition Depot I went by and I was freakin shocked and pissed off I priced the same supplements I just bought at VP and it came out almost 55.00 less and these were brand names needless to say I will never step In VP again I just think of all the money I could of saved and all the times the staff told me what great deals I was getting, total BS, sorry VP you just lost a long time customer.

Wow… went there for simple remedy and the guy working there was nice but had absolutely no clue as to what he was selling or talking about. I will not be returning to this establishment.

I needed DGL Licorice pills and when I called in, the girl said they would order it for me and to check back next week. On a side note, I asked if they could call me when it came in, she said probably not. Nonetheless, I called the next week and got the same girl, who requested I call back in another day or so. When I did call back I got a lady that answered who said they don’t carry that product and never did.
My problem with this experience is:
1. I purchased this product one time in the past from them, so I know they did have at one point.
2. When you experience acid reflux its not pleasant to wait hours, let alone days or weeks. If I had know, I would’ve ordered the product online!
As such, customer service gets a thumbs down this time around and they need to improve their organization and communications over there.

Awesomeness! Extremely helpful staff that go the extra mile to help you find what you’re looking for. Case in point, I recently went in looking for bee pollen for my allergies. They didn’t have what I was looking for and the lady called the Noho branch and had me talk to them to see if they could help me. They had what I was looking for and I was able to swing by and pick it up. Really appeciate the extra service!

Friendly staff, decent selection, but be forewarned: they will try to up-​sell you!
All of her recommendations were along the lines of «that one is good, but this one is the best. It has everything you need. …yes, it tastes great. .oh, I use it every day!»
But when I compared the products, the less expensive liquid multi had more vitamins… I went with her protein shake recommendation because she swore she used it every day, and that it tasted good and wasn’t gritty… but neither of those are true. She also tried to sell me individual vitamins that were already in abundance in the liquid multi.
Caveat emptor (buyer beware). Read up, know what you want, make comparisons, etc. It’s worth it to make a stop here, because they had a decent selection at relatively affordable prices.

I just spoke with the manage of this location, Connie. I called her to explain a situation I encountered on Saturday with one of her less than helpful employees. I asked if they carried pure shea butter, and stopping in between her personal phone call and texts, I was told they did not carry it, only for me to find it minutes later. This is not the first time this has happened here. Then, I witnessed a customer ask to make a return, only to be told to come back another day because the manager was not there and she could not authorize it.
This would be enough for me to start shopping somewhere else, and was about to give 2 stars, however I called and spoke to Connie today and was reassured that the service would be improved, and anything I needed to ask for her. She said the return policy was incorrect and could make returns anytime.
I’m just going to chalk this up to a lackluster employee that has no desire to provide customer service. I thought the manager should know.
With that being said, I think this location has a good selection of products for better prices than I have found at Whole Foods and Vitamin Shoppe. The only time I go there is when I can’t find it at VP Discount, which isn’t often.

I’ve never been taken care of or respected as a customer like I was the other day. I went in looking for protein powder and walked out with the best shopping experience of my life.
The workers are not pushy sellers and let you do your thing. When you do need assistance they are more than willing to help. The lady working gave me a discount on top of the already discounted price since I bought two powders.
i got to my car and realized I needed a shaker. I went back into the store, found a shaker, went to go pay for it and I was given the shaker for FREE! Most businesses will try to nickel and dime you for everything. It was a nice relief to go into a store and be told «Don’t worry about it.»
I realize this shaker was only 3 bucks, but this owner definitely knows how to keep someone coming back. The small gesture she made, made me a loyal customer for life.

I used to live in Burbank and frequented this shop, not because it was great, but because it carried what I needed — sometimes. The woman who was generally behind the counter was pleasant, but did not know the products and was not quick to help (even after I would circle the small store 15 times looking for my desperately needed Sinufix which is the only thing that gets me through Flu season). Breathe…
It’s adequate and they have the basics, but don’t go if you need personal service and you may have to go back as it is hit or miss if they will have what you need in stock.

Once I walked in… there were two ladies, Connie (the manager) and Medik or Lele (co-​workers) were very nice greating me in. Connie was very helpful and knowledgeable. Anything I had asked for she carried! For any chance if she didn’t carry an item I needed; she would call around to other VP Discount locations to find out if they carried it or not, and still if she couldn’t find it… She would Special order it for me and would call me to notify that my product had came in!
I love this store and the people! Without Connies advise I would have stayed sick and unhealthy. As a Loyal returning customer, I will always come back and keep taking her advice which I had during my pregnecy (which doctors didn’t understand which vitamin to take) and getting fit again… loosing 87 pounds with what she told me to take and do. By the way, I had also started to give my baby vitamins she suggested to me during the time my baby was just born, and till now the doctors are amazed at how healthy my baby has grown up to be.
I’m healthy and slim, my family is healthy… All because of a very helpful worker Connie! Thanks to her; I can live again!

I first visited this VP Discount Health Food store in Burbank over a year ago when a friend recommended it for its wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and supplements beyond your imagination. Back then, I remember getting extremely helpful service from very knowledgeable staff — they knew where everything was and they were generous with their recommendations based on what your health needs were.
I don’t know if this place has undergone an owner change or what since then, but I haven’t been thrilled lately. There are usually two women working there nowadays, and one of them is busy taking care of her baby that’s always crying. The other older woman spends much of her time screaming into her cell phone in some foreign language. Neither seem to understand the concept of «customer service» (though I admit the one with the baby at least makes an effort).
For example, one woman came in asking for a special type of calcium supplements (I think the chelated kind which is not readily available just anywhere). The one with the baby didn’t know what she was talking about or where to find it, so she asked the older woman for help. That woman acted very annoyed to have her phone conversation interrupted and rudely said, «What are you talking about? Calcium is calcium! You can find it anywhere!» Which I took to mean, «I don’t want your business. I just want to be left alone to talk on my phone all day.» And just the fact that she wasn’t aware of the fact that there are MANY types of calcium supplements out there told me how ignorant she is given where she works.
And by the way, this store has the word «discount» in it and even has window signs saying they have items 20−50% off, but I couldn’t figure out what in the heck was discounted. All the prices were astronomical. Right after my last visit, I went to Whole Foods and looked at the same items I had purchased at VP. They were the SAME price, which proved that the items at VP are NOT discounted in any way.
I’m very disappointed, but I’m giving this place 3 stars just for their sheer variety of goods. And the nearest Whole Foods is several miles away, so if you can’t get to WF, this place will serve your vitamin and mineral needs. Just don’t expect discounted prices. And plan on doing your research ahead of time and finding whatever you need on your own.
