Our restoration process begins with getting a total understanding of what the customer wants the finished product to be, we have found through our experience that the original understanding between us and the customer is vital to the success of the project.

Our team of veteran mechanics and wheelers are happy to tackle jobs of all shapes and sizes. We offer a wide array of services including locker installation, re-gearing, axle swaps, drum-to-disk and big brake conversions, high performance steering box conversions, lift kit installation, 3 & 4 link conversions, suspension servicing, stopping death wobble, high performance engine upgrades, complete engine swaps, including diesel engines, engine maintenance, auto and standard transmission rebuilding, service, and swaps, transfer case servicing and swaps, driveline service, axle maintenance, differential servicing, oil changes, tire rotation and more.

We have been featured in every major off road magazine publications, as well as the History channel’s Top Gear America TV series. As well as having our own TV reality show based on our custom builds. We have been in business for over 15 years with hundreds of satisfied customers.

History

Established in 1990.

The roots of this establishment are seated deep in the original world of Four Wheeling back in the 1980’s where guys would build a nice weekend warrior 4 wheel drive and get together for fun with friends and family, and we kept things simple. We have since progressed to building custom $ 100K plus extreme off roaders that are designed to get you to your destination and back safely, while traveling some of the roughest terrain the United States has to offer. Nothing is impossible to build.

Wanted to take the time to thank Henrick «shop owner» and his team at WORLD FAMOUS 4X4 for the excellent customer service and excellent job they did installing a Icon 3″ lift on 2015 Tacoma 4X4. Had a weird ticking noise on my truck when flipped into 4wheel and had an itch to get up to the mountains after we finally got some snow down here. Found these guys on Unilocal and I’m very happy that I did. Went by the shop and as busy as they were they came out and took a look. Made an appointment and dropped it off in the am a couple days later. Usually I’m weary about new service shops but I had a good feeling about this place… boy was I right! They gotta lot of miles as far as experience goes and it showed from the diagnostic all the way to completion. They found the problem, got the part, installed it, and had the truck ready for me the same day. Fantastic customer service, clean work, and reasonable rates. All around honest business. These guys are official.

I had a rock crawler rear bumper and tire swing installed by WF 4×4 and they did a great job making sure it all went on properly and everything fit and worked like its supposed to. It was a bit too much to do by myself so I took it in and it was ready to go the next day. Very cool place with nice people. I will be back.

I’ve been a Jeep owner/enthusiasts for about three + years now; and take great pride and joy in staying on top of regular care and maintenance to get the best out of my precious Ruby (Wrangler Rubicon). After extensive searching of service shops/mechanics, it turns out that WF4X4 (World Famous 4×4) has the highest customer ratings in the area.
I should also note that I was in the middle of a military move from Hawaii to Missouri and had to make sure that my wrangler was ready to take on the 3,885 miles of road travel ahead.
The entire staff was welcoming and friendly, Hamrick himself even offered me a chocolate donut with sprinkles lol. Their facility has an ambiance that one would expect to see in a jeep museum. There’s even a wall of fame display of celebrities who have had service done on their vehicles like Chino Moreno (lead singer of my favorite band the deftones).
Once I dropped off my vehicle, Hamrick quoted me two days to complete the work, which worked perfect with my travel schedule. But it turns out that his staff put in the extra time and managed to get everything done in one day cause they realized that I had a lot of road and miles ahead to cover. Which in the long run gave me a lot of extra time to see some sights along the drive which would not have been possible had they not worked overtime on my Ruby.
Overall, my jeep looked better than the day I picked it up from the dealership and drove so smooth with the new set of tires I had installed. Throughout the entire trip I had people constantly compliment my Jeep and noticed how mean and capable it looked with the all the enhancements done.
I would not hesitate to recommend WF4X4 to anyone that ever needs work done on their vehicle. From beginning to end they exuded bad ass customer service and satisfying work that will definitely have me coming back again in the future.

Took my car in to 3 shops because of a loud noise coming from the front of the car while driving, they all said they didnt know what the problem was, one shop even told me the only way to find out was to drive the car until the faulty part broke.
stopped by world famous 4×4, honestly went in just to see some of the jeeps they had in the showroom. didnt expect them to be able to identify what exactly was wrong with my car.
Sure enough they called out the problem immediately.
I set up an apt and they called an über for me to get home. they finished the job in a day and had be back on the road before 5pm.
NO NOISE!
to boot, i got a flat tire on friday, about a block away from their shop. one of the employees on his way back from lunch recognized my car and put my spare on for me. they ordered me a tire and had it installed that same day.
who knew a 4×4 shop was the best place for me to take my honda accord lol.

So I made a handshake deal with the owner of this facility.
It was for many options for my wifes truck at a set price and for a set time.
The set time was exceeded by more than 3 times the projected timeline.
When it came time to pick the truck up, i received a call to purchase a new battery because the new redtop optima died while sitting in their garage.
I also was told we were going to need to pay more because the build went «over budget».
I talked to the owner again, and he said that he will provide a discount and the amount paid was enough. This is odd because it was a hand shake deal between myself and the owner.
SO. we get to inspect the vehicle for everything that was done.
I found that the front bench/3 seat was not installed onto the Vehicle.
We found rust all over the brand new winch bumper and on the brand new roof rack.
there was a mysterious pink dust all over (inside and out) the vehicle
the brand new paint job had drips from a subpar paint job
the brand new cloth seats that were installed were loose and fabric does not fit the seats properly.
The second row of seats were not installed back into the truck correctly either. they do not fold down like they used to. the front passenger seat also will not recline anymore.
For me in my involvement with the company, I would say is terrible.
I am still missing parts I paid for and the work done was by far the best example of «bare minimum» work i have ever scene.
I also had to spend more money on re-doing my gears that were improperly installed by this place. I had to pay more for a tune up that this company agreed to do. I also had to pay for new front suspension, because this company did not keep their word.

This is the place to go if you’re serious about your truck, car, or pretty much anything you want done right. Came here for a full reupholstery on a 79 Camaro a few years back and am still perfectly happy with the results and longevity. Ended up bringing two other trucks to get heavy restoration and custom work; everything was completed perfectly with details going the extra mile. I continually stand by the great reputation of World Famous 4×4 and the pride that comes from being able to represent their work. Always a great deal; and Henrik works together to accommodate any budget and any vision ! Going back soon to get some custom grille guard work on a muscle car ! Whatever you need done; mechanical, cosmetic, or some weird and crazy dream; he will get it done and do it right !!

My Vehicle: 2000 Jeep Cherokee
Work Done: Full lift kit and hood louvers install.
I’ve owned many vehicles. Which means I’ve used many many mechanics. My first time with WF4x4 simply could not have gone any better. I came to the shop to inquire about the work I wanted completed. Was greeted immediately by Kim at the front desk, who introduced me to Henrick the owner. Within 5 minutes of walking in the door I was on a full tour of the amazing space they’ve got set up there.
I spoke at length with Henrick about his shop, my vehicle, cost and time frame. During the time my Jeep was in the shop I was given updates via phone. In the end my truck was finished earlier than quoted. And came in UNDER the estimated cost.
If you frequent garages and have a love for vehicles you’ll know any of the above mentioned instances is all to rare these days. Much less experiencing them all with one shop during one job.
Literally couldn’t be more pleased. Work is perfect. Perfect experience from start to finish.

Ok. Where do I begin.
I have a Jeep Wrangler 4×4 that I got with my Dad, under the assumption we would rebuild together. He had A LOT of problems, that would have been fun to learn to fix. He passed away.
Needless to say, this was a very sensitive issue, and I refused to take my jeep, Gonzo, to just anybody.
I drove him when I could, till he finally succumb to all his issues. I knew this was a sign. It was time.
I found these guys by accident. They are by appointment only. I decided to take a chance, and give em a call. I don’t know why I felt more comfortable with them than others, as I had never met them but… Instincts I am realizing are like gold.
I left a message and a few days later Jake called me back. He was AMAZING, understanding, reassuring and invited me to bring Gonzo in.
Needless to say, the rest is history. Henrick, the owner, is like a big brother to me. He and his team cared for Gonzo as if he was their own! They brought him back to life, adding loving details that only other true, classic 4×4 lovers would understand.
I have never written this before about any business, but I didn’t just find a good place for Gonzo at World Famous 4×4… They are now family.
If you can get into World Famous 4×4, jump on it. They won’t just upgrade you vehicle. They will upgrade your faith in humanity.

I found GM Truck Center/World Famous 4×4 online. I brought my 1952 Chevy 5 window truck in for a new crate engine. We ended up doing an LS3 conversion (motor mounts, custom radiator, transmission, rear end, suspension, etc.) My biggest mistake was not taking it to Henrik in the first place. It took a while, but was worth the wait for quality work.
I told Henrik I was looking for a Bronco. He came across an original 1970 Int’l Harvester 800A Aristocrat. I couldn’t say no after WF4x4 was done with it. Now it’s my daily driver during the summer.
I recently had my 64′ Nova towed WF4x4 for an electrical problem. It’s not what you will normally see at the shop, but they where able to fix the problem and I was on my way.
Now WF4x4 is working on a new project, a 1956 Int’l Harvester truck… looking forward to driving Mater around town.
I’ve been to a lot of shops, spent a lot of money and still had to redo most work w/WF4x4. It’s one thing to fix something that breaks, but sucks to redo something twice. If you want a truck done right the first time this is the place to go. Otherwise go pimp your ride at your local swap meet.

I went into World Famous 4×4 not really knowing what to expect. Boy was I pleased.
I had some small body work that needed to be done which I couldnt do by myself. I was helped immediately after pulling in. Jake was the one who helped me. Not trying to overdo it but his professionalism, knowledge, and great customer service quickly put my cares to rest.
It felt like he really cared about my vehicle. I must have been in and out of there in under an hr.
Try World Famous 4X4 and youll see what I mean. These guys are good at what they do and work hard at doing it well.

Henrik and his team have always taken great care of my cars. Started out with having them do some work on an old Pontiac I had but ended up also buying an awesome old CJ7 which they did some really cool things too. He sent me texts almost every day on the progress of the Jeep and made sure I loved everything he did to it. He’s even sent guys to my house to work on the old Pontiac when I was having issues with the carbs.
I highly recommend World Famous 4×4 for anything from maintenance, to upgrades, to having them build something completely custom for you. They’re honest and do great work.

I took my 1974 Chevy K5 Blazer into Henrik for a complete overhaul in 2012. We kept the frame, but LOTS of new stuff: body, LineXed interior (including dash!), custom seat work, lift, tires, wheels, tailgate conversion, conversion out of all-time 4WD, motor, roll cage, bikini top, plus more. The work coming out of their shop is really top notch. There was lots of work that had to be done, so it took some time, before I had my favorite truck back. But the final product was worth the wait.
Henrik really knows everything about GM Trucks. World Famous 4×4 is a great one-stop shop for your truck overhaul/update.
I just had my truck in Henrik’s shop last month for some engine work, and the team made some overall tweaks to my truck that make it that much more enjoyable to drive. He’ll take good care of you. Their customer service has improved from my first visit to my most recent.
I receive tons of compliments on the truck.
