Service is less than friendly and they’re playing the most terrible modern country garbage radio station I’ve ever heard. The whole vibe says, «get the hell out of here»…which explains why it was empty the whole time I ate. Finished my food quickly so I didn’t have to hear one more cheesy country song. Food was good though… it’s Taco Del Mar, after all.

I haven’t been to this taco del mar in awhile, just went in today since I was in the area. Girl who made our burritos was kind of sloppy making them, usually you put the sour cream or guacamole on first but she made it backwards, cheese beans then the sour cream(which I personally don’t like) and she didn’t really put enough beans in the burrito. I’ve had better here but that was long time ago. She was friendly though and apologized for the wait since there was a line — but understandable since she was the only one working there today.

I have loved Taco Del Mar for years, but the vibe of this place really turns me off. The past reviews talking about poor employee attitude is so true. About every 2 months i come in here and i am reminded why i stopped. The entire place could be empty, and they would still rudely rush me through the creation of my burrito or whatever it is they are making. Literally every time i am left with a sensation of «hey wait. « Look i know it’s only a mondo burrito, but it’s not a race, and you could literally take 10 or 15 extra seconds to make it how i want, not like a pile of poo… I think I am finally over this place, i’d rather spend money where the customer experience is valued.

In former years, I cam here and really just appreciated the food but was never a «regular». Now, I am. These fish tacos are sort of addictive and honestly, I can mow down one taco in 10 seconds and be on my way-happily. The only set back is, in coming here I’d say once a week or so-I would expect some sort of recognition in the way of a smile OR just general pleasantries. It seems that every person who works here, including the Manager is just done. They do not like being here and make it obvious in the way of, texting while(yes, while) ringing your food up, rolling their eyes at people, talking only in a foreign language between themselves or giving exasperated sighs with any question you may have or request to them(as in no, I would like my taco in foil-not a basket but I’m going to eat it here). Why does that bother you? I’d prefer to not waste a basket when I’m going to inhale my taco and then leave. Please, Owner just give your people a pep talk. This is Taco Del Mar, I get that and yes it is a food chain and maybe not the happiest place on Earth but it doesn’t have to be an uncomfortable, sad place either. Oh and BTW that sign that says, «please excuse the mess while we are remodeling», that sign has been up for over a year now. I haven’t seen any remodeling.

Horrible customer service, over-priced bland food. I will never go back.

The number of racist reviews on here really astounds me. First off, Taco Del Mar is NOT authentic Mexican food. Ever. Anywhere. Anytime. In the history of Taco Del Mar. Taco Del Mar is considered«Tex-Mex», basically an Americanized version of the real deal. It’s not cheapo fast food like Taco Bell, but it’s not like heading down to your local hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot either. Secondly, the ethnicity of the employees has literally nothing to do with the quality of the food or service. Their comprehension of the English language is fine. Their ability to speak English is fine. Their English speaking abilities are better than many of the reviews I’ve read on Unilocal. All that aside, let’s get to the meat of the review.(Get it? Meat? Like the inside of a burrito?) The establishment is clean and well organized. They close a little earlier than I’d like, but overall the hours are convenient. Parking is so-so depending on what time you arrive. I eat later than most, so luckily it has never really been an issue for me. The food is good. Ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. Again, we’re not talking gourmet Mexican, but it’s definitely FAR above your standard Taco Bell fake-Mex fast food. I’ve had a few instances at other Taco Del Mars where they leave super giant fatty chunks of meat in, but never the case here. Good temperature, good taste, good quality. All around good. The employees have always been super fast and super nice. A little chit chat to get it going and then it’s down the assembly line. We walked in once about 5 minutes before closing without realizing it and instead of kicking us out, they quickly helped us without even a little bitterness. Even I would have thrown a little shade about that! Now here is my one complaint — the employees here don’t receive any tips given via credit card. SERIOUSLY. The owners take all tips from credit cards and keep them to «pay off credit card fees for allowing customers to pay with cards.» How this is the employees’ faults, I don’t know. This is really just a scummy business practice and makes me fume. Whenever I walk in, I try to get the folks behind the counter at least a few bucks. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a good burrito that’s better than Taco Bell but doesn’t require you to sit down in a fancy restaurant for a good price(and you don’t hate people of other ethnicities), then this is the happenin’ spot for you. Just don’t tip on your credit card.

Absolutely horrible food. Not even the same as taco del mar used to taste like 6 years ago, which even then was pretty shabby. Prices were higher than normal. Steak was chewy and MICROWAVED in fact ALL the meat there is microwaved… totally bland and tasteless waste of money. Avoid like the plague!!! not authentic Mexican food while people from India are serving it «You guys need positive attitude»

Haven’t been to this location before and I won’t be going back. Service was fairly slow for 11:15 on a Thursday. I only saw one person working in there, and she was the one working the counter. Instead of ringing up the people ahead of me, she made them wait while she made my Mondito burrito. Granted, they did have nachos heating up, but she could have rung them up during that time. The food… Mondito burrito, which is just a smaller version of the Mondo. I don’t like beans, so no beans for me, but rice, chicken, Pico, lettuce, and hot sauce. The rice is terrible. It was undercooked, so it was chewy, then I would find bits of even more undercooked rice that nearly cracked a filling. The chicken, was ok, she didn’t put too much in the burrito, though, and the rice had already ruined the meal anyway. The only thing that was ok there was the hot sauce, which could have been a little hotter, but I digress… Oh, and apparently they have punch cards, but she didn’t offer one to me. I overheard another customer ask about them as I was leaving with my take out order.

We go here pretty regularly and would give this place a 4 for consistently fresh and tasty food made quickly. However several things we witnessed tonite require me to write a 2 star review. First, we watched the two food preppers in the back while they were chopping tomatoes and onions in high volume. Neither were wearing gloves or any kind of protective head cover. One was talking on her red covered cell phone the whole time, cradling the phone under her chin, then holding in her hand, then cradling on other side. Hair hanging over her shoulders, toward and over the food. Then she came out and gathered the little plastic baskets from the top of the trash can where patrons put them. Then, she put new paper covers on the baskets and stacked them up to be used again. They were not washed, rinsed, or wiped down. Eww. Also, I heard the person behind the counter tell a patron that the fish is normally put in the oven to cook but if its late in the day it is microwaved. Huh? She said it takes 15 minutes in the oven so the costomer would have to wait for it. The customer said he would wait and the clerk visibly rolled her eyes at the customer. Last but not least, a woman came in who we have never seen before in the store and she walked behind the counter and into the kitchen where she proceeded to swish her long hair around. It just felt like the attention to cleanliness and customer service has really gone down the drain. We won’t be back. Sad because this is one of our stand bys.

Just as convenient as the Tukwila counterpart. The workers have been kind and sometimes a day just requires a «Mondo» burrito.

I usually like Taco Del Mar. However I do not have positive opinion about their branch in Burien. There kitchen looks messy and dirty, employees hardly speak English. The food is also not tasty or well cooked. I would suggest Huckleberry Square restaurant in Burien.

So far, I have been pleased with everything I have ordered here. This includes fish tacos, Mondo Burritos, and a few Cabo Salads(probably should order these more often!). I like the different combos you can create and the service is pretty fast. I also like how you can watch them make it, just like going to Subway, except there are no sandwiches or $ 5 foot longs. I have only been to one other Taco Del Mar and that one was up in Capitol Hill. This one is much cleaner and less crowded. I have never had a problem finding a good place to sit at this location.

Double punch Monday’s, how I love you! If you get ten punches in your card you get a FREE burrito!!! Yippie FREE stuff! Huge yummy burritos, fish tacos, and other wholesome lunchtime fare. The menu is standard for Taco Del Mar — you choose it — they make it. I generally have a almost super burrito — the only thing that distinguishes this from the jumbo buritto is the addition guacamole and sour cream. You get a choice of the following: * tortilla that is steamed warm — yum! — spinach, whole wheat, tomato, flour, etc… * meat — chicken, pork, or beef * beans — refried, black, or pinto * rice * extras — cheese, mild pico, lettuce * salsa — mild, medium, hot Anyway you make it, your going to love it! They also sell cookies for a nominal fee. The service is above average and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy your burrito. They also put up lots of local posters that they will give you for free if you ask nicely! They always have lots of parking right out front!
