Love going here. The kiddos and I can waste a day away here. Looking for music, and books, and games. I am so glad Burleson has one. The staff here is impeccable.

This place is just awesome. I love being able to come and recycle my book and browse the store. The employees are so pleasant… yet none as friendly, helpful and personable as that sweet, kind guy with the English accent. He just makes you want to keep coming back. Whoever hired this guy did the store a great service! Sadly, I didn’t catch his name.

I’m a fan of the Half-Price Books chain but this location is especially great. They’ve got a great selection of poetry collections that are hard to find, with neat gifts and stationary, and a nice clearance section. They have books for pretty much everyone. I love this new location. The store is very organized and clean. Also, they have nice calendars. I recommend checking back frequently as their inventory gets updated often. You can also sell your books here but I don’t think you get very much money for them.

We’ve been using D/FW Half Price Books locations for years and were truly blessed when the company finally put one closer to home for us; so it’s not like it was a new discovery for me when the doors opened. Since I’m not as much an avid reader, anymore, I tend to migrate towards the movies, music and software areas of the store and browse the VHS and DVD movies(they also have BlueRay, but I don’t… so I won’t waste my time checking those out. You can probably do that your own lazy self, ’cause I ain’t doin’ it for ya!) They have an eclectic selection of music in several CD and 12″ record bins, which is nice since picking up an USB turntable from the store recently, so I’ll probably be gleaning through the records the next few times I go up there now that I have something to play them on, again. PROS: Generally clean store(sometimes it’s a bit cluttered in areas as they work to update their inventory or take in new stock from people bringing in old movies and books to sell). Free coffee by the door. Very friendly and helpful staff Occasionally have New items due to the company buying sellouts in bulk and spreading them throughout their many stores. The music they play on the in-store system usually doesn’t suck as much as what you’ve probably come to expect from a book seller. But then, I don’t know what musical likes you have, so maybe it does suck to you. Low prices(if you don’t buy the first edition items that may be in the locked cabinets… then expect the prices to jump exponentially depending on what’s in there and the condition of the items). Easy(ish) access back to North or South I-35 if you exit the parking lot to the north, head west towards the Cinema, turn north to W. Rendon Crowley Road and then Right to I-35. It’s a lot easier than dealing with that mess if you exit by McAlister Road. CONS: You really have to keep your eyes open when perusing the inventory so you don’t miss little gems that go hidden on the shelves or under bins. Games and movies may not come with all parts included or in the best condition(since they sell them in the condition that they buy them from others) You probably need to purchase things you’ve wanted when you run across them(or there’s a very good chance they may not be there when you return a week later. Then you’ll just hate yourself forever and ever.)

The people here are always very kind. I come in every 2 weeks or so to see what’s new and shuffle around. It’s almost impossible to leave without a book. The staff never fails to recommend something for me and the comic section is quite extensive, although almost all are newer releases. Overall, I love this place.
