CCLC School Age at Roosevelt Elementary

I have two children going to this school and have been quite pleased so far. Last year, they were enrolled in Foster City schools which in my opinion is overrated and easy to have children lost in the mix. Roosevelt is a small school with better student to teacher ratios than much of the bay area. The teachers seem to have so much more concern for the kids than our previous location and treat each child as a valued member of the community.
Parents are very involved with this school and the various parent groups sponsor several activities and functions throughout the year. The principal, Mr Hills, makes it a point to know each child by name and is VERY accessible to parents and listens to issues and concerns with an open mind. Instead of being some stuffy bureaucrat behind a desk, he seems to be involved in every aspect of running this school, is accountable and seems comfortable in his own skin.
This is a good place for kids to come and learn as both of my children going here are really flourishing. The older of the two never really had a decent teacher until this year and was getting increasingly frustrated with school. Under his teacher, he is really having a good year and takes pride in his schoolwork. It is amazing what a difference a year makes.
