Where do I Begin… I have been a client of Nicole’s for about 8 years or so and can not speak highly enough about her!!! I have VERY thick frizzy hair and am constantly changing my mind. Nicole has been extremely helpful in talking me through what I want, what would look great for my skin tone and I have NEVER left disappointed. I’m the girl who is always bringing in pictures of hair color and asking if she can make it happen… Well folks, SHE CAN!!! She has made me blonde, red, chocolate brown and everything in between and regardless of the color, I am always receiving complements.
I have also had her do the Brazilian BlowOut a number of times and I LOVE IT!!! Before a fizzy mess and after sleek and shinny! It used to take me 30 min to blow dry my hair and another hour to flat iron it, not anymore. Straight out of the shower, blow dry in 10 min and silky smooth !!! It’s the best ;-)
Like I said, Nicole is truly amazing at what she does and everyone I have referred to her says the same. If you are looking for a friendly stylist, who knows what she is doing and works with your schedule, STOP looking and call Nicole, I promise you will NIT be disappointed ;-)

I recently went to get my hair colored and cut by Mola because I saw what an amazing job she did on my sister. Making an appointment was so easy as she responded to my e-​mails in a timely manner, answering in depth all the questions I had for her. I was naturally nervous because it was my first time coloring my hair but as soon as I sat in her chair she was very welcoming and made me feel extremely comfortable about the whole thing. She goes over exactly what she’s going to do to your hair and is very realistic about it. My hair came out amazing and I instantly booked my next appointment. Definitely recommend her!

Mola is absolutely incredible! I’m a ponytail type of girl because I’ve always felt like my hair was too thick and blah to do anything with it. Not anymore! She is so talented. I knew i was in good hands from our first email. She took the time to ask me questions and get pictures of what i have and what i want, so when i finally got in to see her, she did her thing and I was able to just relax. She is fun, vibrant, skilled and very easy to talk with. I related to her a lot and that made the experience even better. Color, cut and I’m a new woman. I’ve found my girl. Thanks Mola! Christina is absolutely astounding! Not only did she create exactly what I wanted, but she gave me tips and pointers for after care and maintenance. She was also very knowledgable and friendly. Christina at Epic Artistry is a true artist. She has the ability to take a desired look to the next level. She is a hair coloring master. I have been going to Christina for 12 years and have always looked my best after leaving her salon. As time has moved on her creativity has helped me go through time with grace, youth and health. I have been coloring my hair for 12 years and it is in wonderful shiny up– to– date strength.

Mola has exceeded my expectations!!! She turned my black hair with multiple layers of red, purple and green dye from previous dye jobs to a gorgeous honey ash blonde color! I’m soooooo in love with my hair right now and the best part is that my hair does not feel dead! This is the one hairstylist that I will follow wherever she is to do my hair! GO SEE HER. Make sure you book ahead of time!!!

I have a thick, frizzy hair and have always had trouble styling it. Loren specializes in thick hair and gave me a hair cut that has basically changed the state of my hair. Before, I felt like it was just long, plain and lifeless. But after Loren cut my hair, it feels light, stylish and much more easy to manage. Not only did she cut my hair, I went to her for the Brazilian blowout. My hair is much more soft and it does dry smooth and with less frizz. I highly recommend Loren because she fully understands the importance of certain hair needs and the quality of what she does it huge.

Meghan Wallace is amazing! Our August wedding was an absolutely perfect day, and it was made better by the confidence and poise that Meghan’s makeup artistry instilled in me. Not only is she talented, but Meghan’s calm personality and willingness to make last minute changes really made a difference on our wedding day. I have fair complexion and I do not normally where a lot of makeup; I discussed a natural, pretty look with Meghan, and she knew just what to do! I looked great– but I still looked like me! I would highly recommend Epic Artistry to brides-​to-​be!

Christina is the best. I love that she doesn’t pressure me to chop off my long hair, and always cuts it to the length I ask — not X inches shorter like many others do. She’s great with vague instructions (I have no idea about hair I just specify a length and ask her recommendation). Her cuts also grow out so well! I’m super lazy about haircuts and hers manage to last me unbelievably long (6mo-​1yr) while still looking fantastic.
I seriously cannot recommend her highly enough.

I wanted to post another pic with my hair sesh with Mola, but I wanted to spread the love and write a review for Epic Artistry. I come in to get my hair done by Mola, but the two times that I’ve been, all the other stylist are so nice and accommodating. I mean yes, we’re all human and should treat other people how you would want to be treated too, but I just feel a little special when I come to Epic Artistry. It’s so cozy and clean there!
If your looking for a no frills and no pushy sales stylist — this is the spot! They definitely are epic artists!

I have to say that Christina is the best hair stylist I have ever been to. I’ve been going to her for the last 4 years and have never once been disappointed with the way my hair turns out. Whether I want a blonde honey color look for summer or an ombré look for a change in style she nails it every time. My color lasts, looks natural and always blends really well. I trust her option and her talent and would recommend her to any one of my friends.

If I was writing this review on the hairstylist Mola Raxakoul, I would be writing a five star review. But because I had more than one service done at Epic Artistry by two different stylist, a three star is the best I can do.
I’m getting married in less than a year and was looking to book all my vendors asap. I found Epic Artistry through Unilocal and was amazed at all the five star reviews. After, what bride doesn’t want the best for her wedding day right? I initially emailed and no one responded. Determined to have Epic Artistry service my wedding needs, I waited and waited until I finally went back to their website and text Meghan to try and schedule an appointment. I was able to schedule an appointment to get my trial bridal hair and makeup done. I was not expecting to leave the salon after my appointment so sad and disappointed because I had such high hopes based on these Unilocal reviews.
I arrived for my appointment yesterday. The salon is small, but cute and chic. Mola was assigned to do my bridal hair. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she took a quick look, and that was it. I was a little nervous by her lack of interest in the picture, but she truly shocked me when she met every detail in the picture that I had shown her! *thumbsup! From the beginning, she was forward about her services. Definitely no beating around the bush because I like to know what I am expecting. She was a great conversationalist and did her best to meet all my needs and expectations. I attached a photo of my hair which is exactly how I want it on my wedding day, except I want the poof to be more voluminous. Mola assured me that on the wedding day, I would get wedding treatment and the poof would more than satisfy my want. ⁵⁄₅ for my hair treatment from Mola!
My bridal makeup trial was with Meghan after. I hate to not write a ⁵⁄₅ review for her considering she’s made every other Unilocaler happy. But everyone is different. I showed Meghan the look I wanted. I wanted the really deep black pigment smokey look with the black running all around my almond shaped eyes. I even picked an Asian girl in the picture since Asians have different shaped eye’s and lids. Meghan was super sweet and friendly and I didn’t have any doubts in the beginning. But after the first run through, I was literally shocked looking at my face in the mirror. No, no, this is not what I wanted! I definitely didn’t want to be a bridezilla so I tried reexplaining to Meghan what I wanted. I felt like the black wasn’t pigmented enough like there was no primer under the eyeshadow and the black kept coming out a charcoal black color instead of a true black. Furthermore, the black shadow she kept applying kept going so high over my eyelid that the smokey look started to become a dramatic look. My cheeks were too rosy and I felt like we just couldn’t come to an agreement on the look that I wanted on my wedding day. I did truly appreciate the extra effort she made to try to meet my requests, but in the end, I walked out with disappointment with my makeup look and especially for the cost ($ 110+$ 10 tip) for the makeup look on my face.
All in all, if I needed hair treatment, I will return to Mola. I’m actually considering still having her meet my bridal needs. But for makeup, I can’t say I’m satisfied.

I’ve gone to see Meghan a few times now for a hair cut as well as a brow wax and every time has been nothing but fabulous! She did a great job on my brows, listened to what I wanted and was super gentle and thorough. My hair cuts are exactly the same, she listens to what I want and does exactly that, while also giving me her opinion on what would work well for me. I’m growing my hair out for my wedding and each time Meghan trims my hair knowing that I’m trying to keep it long and healthy. I’ll be moving back to San Francisco from the Burlingame area in a few weeks but I will keep making the trip to Burlingame just to continue seeing Megan. Epic Artistry is a great salon and I highly recommend giving them a try!
Oh, Meghan also did my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot and as expected — it was fabulous. Pictures came out great and my photographer kept complimenting my hair and said my makeup looked great. I’m so happy I found Meghan!

I had been wanting to get an A-​line for the longest time but I was very hesitant because not just anyone knows how to do it. I did my research and lo and behold I came upon Epic Artistry… I booked an appointment with Christina and VUALA, my hair looked amazing!

If you want an amazing cut, go see NICOLE! Not only is Nicole super easy to chat with, she is an outstanding hair stylist! I have long hair and am particular about my layers. Nicole gave me an awesome do and I love checking out my cut! Thank you Nicole!

I went to see Christina for a haircut a couple weeks ago and was very happy with the results! in the past, I’ve always been told that I can’t do bangs… Christina took one look at my hair and said the opposite. She listened to me when I said I wanted to keep the length, gave me awesome layers, and I was done, styled and out the door in an hour! I will definitely be returning for future haircuts !

I found Epic Artistry not by referral but by driving past on Howard Avenue.
Nestled in a residential area, Epic stands out with their modern yet classy awning and boutique like store front.
What caught my attention, was the word BROWS, artistically handwritten on the door. At the time, I had spent a month growing out my brows so I could have them reshaped and I was planning to go to my usual place or a friends referral.
I took a chance with Epic, deciding that the worst that could happen would be a mediocre brow job to clean up unwanted hairs.
Fortunately, my results were beyond mediocre! It was a carefully crafted contour.
Details: When I stopped in, the décor was immediately appealing, clean, and organized. The general space of the salon is small but feels open and comfortable. There was a separate area for waxing and makeup.
I was greeted by Meghan who was working on a client when I asked about brow shaping. While Meghan was checking her appointment book, her clients says to me, «She’s really good.»
On the day of appointment, Meghan was professional, friendly and timely.
She took her time, shaped, trim, tweezed and even filled it in to show me how to enhance the look.
I am very pleased with the results and I received plenty of compliments during the next few days. It is amazing how one facial feature, such as brows can refresh the look of my overall face!
I highly recommend Meghan for brows and I am most likely going to try other services. I liked that she was friendly and caring but not overwhelmingly chatty. She is knowledgeable and well versed with her products, services and prices.
She was also very tolerant and understanding with my 6 and 4yr old sitting on the floor of her reception area playing. A plus being that the salon is in a area with lots of moms and kids.

Meghan and her assistant did the makeup for my wedding party last weekend. Every single one of us were extremely happy with the way our makeup turned out! She worked wonders on me. I had been hysterical all morning with a migraine from hell and after Meghan was done, you couldn’t even tell I had been crying for hours. She is extremely talented and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants their makeup to look flawless!
Christina is also ridiculously talented. She put extensions in my hair the day before the wedding and they looked amazing! (And she did it SO fast!!) The day of the wedding she and her assistant did the bridesmaid’s hair, as well as both moms, and of course, mine! Every hairdo was breathtaking! She is phenomenal!
Thank you, ladies, for making all us gals look spectacular! You both rock!

I was researching salons on Unilocal to try and find places with lower rates for hair color and in my search was reunited with Christina. I had last seen her at the Color Room in San Mateo years ago which I believe is no longer even open. She gave me great hair color, which at the time were «J-​lo» highlights. I had gotten lots of compliments on the color, even from other hairstylists. At the time though I was into trying out different salons but I wasn’t totally satisfied with their work. So I went back to look for Christina but at that point she had already moved to another salon and the people at Color Room claimed to not know where she had moved to.
Fast forward to last year: reunited at last! These days instead of J-​lo color she gives me Khloe Kardashian highlights, which I have gotten tons of compliments on. She is truly skilled at what she does, knows exact what she’s doing, and executes it well. I have complete trust in her coloring skills as she always gets it right and I have yet to go in for a fix or redo. You can see her work on her website:

She has a great, bright, spacious room in a small building on Burlingame Avenue. She splits it with someone else and they normally have alternating days that they work so most of the time they have the studio to themselves, which makes for a relaxing environment. Christina only works a few days a week so make sure to schedule your appointment in advance to get the time slot you want! Also, there’s mostly two hour and metered parking in the area. I suggest if you’re going to get anything other than just a haircut or style to park in one of the lots a block or two away from the avenue that provide all-​day parking for a super low cost just so you don’t have to rush, though she will gladly feed your meter for you if needed.
Was seeing another colorist regularly and I loved her as a person so it was hard to leave her. But Christina is the better fit for me and I have Unilocal to thank for helping me find her! I am thinking about getting ombré highlights next time and it seems like it could be tricky to get right but I trust her to do a good job. Only missing a star because quite a few times she’s started late (more than ten minutes), early in the morning or at the end of the day, one time even after asking for me to come in later. No complaints other than that. Go see Christina for your hair color! (Especially if you want caramel highlights which I think she does so well!)

Christina also does hair extensions and for a very low cost. I believe she makes her own extensions so that helps to bring the cost down. She uses microlocs (not braids, glue or bonding) which I personally think is the best.
