It was such a nice experience shooting with Frances and Patrick. They were always so considerate and made the shoot run smoothly. Frances and Patrick are the most fantastic duo, let alone photographers, you will ever encounter! My husband and I (and our big fat Asian family) are extremely happy that we invested in them to capture the most intimate details of our wedding.
I could rave on and on about our engagement and wedding photos, but a picture does say a thousand words. Thus, any additional words from our mouths may just tilt the balancing scale the other way. The quality of our 1000+ photos are perfect; none were overexposed and none made us look distorted. If you want evidence thereof, please see Frances’ portfolio because you will be impressed!
Aside from end results, their characters made working with them that much more seamless and enjoyable. The 3 best traits of Frances and Patrick are: (1) creativity; (2) patience; and (3) generosity. They are just filled with ideas that I would have never thought of; Frances pitched me ample styles/​elements of photography to help capture our personalities for our family, friends and future generations. They are one of the most patient people I have come across; they spent endless hours directing us, listening to us, editing our photos, and catering to our demanding parents. They are extremely generous with their time and consideration; they spent those extra minutes to capture our moments together despite the clock running out, and Frances even had bobby pins on hand for those pesky hair emergencies.
In essence, Frances and Patrick are incredible to work with. You will not regret it! More importantly, your photos will help you raise the bar for wedding photography, and inadvertently, be the envy of your inner circle.

I seriously feel Frances and Patrick ‘is as good as it gets’. They are a really fun and talented couple and it shows in their work. I first saw them in action during one of my good friend’s weddings, and she was highly recommended to me. I took their card and emailed them. Frances is super responsive and we were able to schedule a meeting right away.
After speaking with a couple of photographers, I really liked how during the initial meeting Frances seemed genuinely interested in what my finace and I wanted for our wedding/​engagement shoots.
She is really detailed orientated and wants to make sure that what she is doing reflects what the couple wants. Frances is super creative with her posing and her shots. She’s really methodical in her shooting, her husband Patrick on the other hand is a modeling pro and can out pose anyone!

Frances and her husband took newborn pics of both of my babies and did a wonderful job! Frances and Patrick make an amazing team — they are great with kids and adults. Frances and her husband Patrick are amazing! Frances was my colleague and had told me she did photography. My boyfriend and I just recently got a new puppy and Frances was sweet enough to take pictures of him. It was my first time meeting Frances’ husband, Patrick, and they work so well with each other and made me feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Our puppy, Maverick, loved both of them, and Frances took amazing photos of him. I was very much impressed on how great the photos turned out. Frances gave me a sneak peek of a couple photos before I seen all of them. I am more than satisfied and grateful for Frances and her husband. Their work is amazing. I just had a session with Fran and Patrick last week along the Sun Bruno coastline. They are a great team who are personable, skilled and put me right at ease in a new setting! I loved hearing about their artistic values and enjoyed the ways they included me in the creative process. On a personal note, I first met Fran years ago while we both worked in the field of school based wellness. It is inspiring to see how she now continues to channel that desire to build community, joy and healing through the lens of photography. I highly recommend them!

Fran is a wonderful photographer. She took photos of me and my wife and we had a great time. The pictures came out beautiful. She caught our most joyous moments and captured our natural smiles. We have used Frances Von Wong for Photography for my daughters Haldi and Mendhi night a year ago. They were awesome, did a great job and we got great shots. Love them and would recommend them to everyone. I give them 5 Stars!

I had the good fortune to have Frances photograph me in my home for a yoga photo session. She had been recommended to me by my good friend and yoga teacher, Saeeda Hafiz. Frances had photographed her for her website and I thought the photos of Saeeda really captured her radiance. So, of course, I wanted Frances to do the same for me! ;)
Frances came to my home with her assistant (and husband). They’re really a great team. Frances was thorough, patient and thoughtful. The session was over an hour long, but went by really fast. Not only was I impressed with the experience, but I am overwhelmed by the beauty of the photos. The clarity and vividness of the images are really stunning– so much so, that I asked her if she Photoshopped them! She said she hadn’t, but I think it’s really a testament to her skill. When I checked out other photos on her site, I couldn’t help but notice that Frances is not only a gifted photographer, but is able to really capture the light within the people she photographs.
I can’t wait for another session with Frances. Her rates were very reasonable (I’m on a tight budget and the photo session did not break the bank!). If you’re looking for a photographer for your special occasion, I highly recommend Frances.

Frances came to our house for our son’s newborn photo session. She is personable, professional, and has incredible patience especially shooting for newborns. My son slept most of the photo session but, she managed to capture many exquisitely rare moments of him awake. The session was over an hour long but, the comfort and ease that Frances provided made it feel like it was less than 30mins. My family had such a great time doing the photo shoot. Frances is so easy going and wonderful to work with. Frances gave us a sneak peek of some shots on her camera and to my amazement, I instantly fell in love with several photos. One particular photo of me and my son captured my attention so much, it filled me with excitement for the rest of the day. Frances does absolutely amazing work and she has the rare talent to capture the pure emotions and natural beauty of life, family, and love.
The final digital prints were delivered quickly and needless to say, I couldn’t decide which pictures to use for our birth announcement. So, I printed two different sets because all her shots were beyond extraordinary and memorable.
I highly recommend Frances and being pregnant again, I can’t wait for Frances to do the newborn session for our baby girl!

Wow! My husband and I were married in Austin, Texas in July and held a reception in HIllsborough, California, later in July. My husband is not as comfortable in front of the camera as I am. So, finding a photographer that he felt relaxed with was very important to him. We interviewed Frances and Patrick for our California reception and loved them right away. We loved them so much in fact that we hired them for our Austin, Texas wedding as well, and they gladly accepted a destination wedding job. Frances and Patrick are so easy to work with and work so well together. Our families just loved them! And we have so many awesome photos to choose from. We certainly got our money’s worth and then some!

Frances photographed my brother’s recent wedding and she was awesome! I just saw the pics tonight and I loved the way she captured the joy of the day. They worked so hard and definitely cared deeply about the pictures. Since the wedding was in two locations on two different days we spent a lot of time with Frances & Patrick and along with being great photographers they so much fun to hang with — what more could you ask for? She was professional and fun and created an instant rapport with my family. She over-​delivered in terms of the time for the photo shoot and number of images she delivered. The photos captured our family dynamics and emotions perfectly.

We cannot thank Frances and Patrick enough for capturing our growing family in two separate photo shoots. We first worked with the duo for a maternity shoot at the beach. It was a beautiful, overcast day at Montara beach in northern CA and Frances and Patrick caught the most beautiful shots of us and our dog, Archie. We couldn’t believe the shots that they were able to get– so much of our true personalities (especially archie’s) were captured in the photos. Because of the amazing photos from our first time working with Frances and Patrick, we hired them again to take family holiday photos after our baby was born. This time around, I was hoping to find a local spot so we didn’t have to drive too far with the new baby but some place with fall colored leaves. Frances and Patrick hunted around the peninsula and came up with the perfect park, sending us photos to make sure it looked as I envisioned the perfect spot to be. The photo shoot was fun and professional and again they were able to snap perfect, genuine images of all of us. Working with two adults, a baby and a dog can’t be easy, but Patrick and Frances were excellent– exceeding our expectations! Thank you both!

We hired Frances and Patrick based on a friend’s glowing recommendation and we were not disappointed. They were prompt, creative, professional and friendly and went to huge amounts of effort to keep our (then) 10 month old smiling and happy for the photo session. They got a lot of mileage out of a few easy-​access neighborhood settings, and we absolutely loved the results. We will definitely hire them again for our next family photo shoot!

Frances and Patrick came over to capture our baby’s first days on her 6^th day of life! One would think this would be stressful for a tired, cranky family adjusting to life with a new baby, but because of Frances’s professionalism, calm demeanor and overall pleasantness, our newborn photo session was anything but stressful! It felt like she and her husband Patrick were old friends coming over to visit the new baby, they were that personable.
She was able to capture some amazing shots of our family, and was super accommodating to nursing the baby mid-​session and even helped negotiate some shots with our tired 22 month old son! She provides «sneak peek“s of the photos to appease impatient clients such as myself, even when the final set of digital prints were delivered super fast!
We brought our first child to a studio for his newborn photos, and really wish we had Frances back then. Having the photographer come to your house was so much easier and personal. Thank you Frances! You are amazing!

We had Frances come over to take pictures at a family event. Frances was easy to work with and very accommodating, I’m not a pictures kind of guy, but they made it relatively painless. The pictures turned out great (even got rid of the zit on my face), haven’t gotten any complaints from anyone. The post processing does wonders… ask about the «knife scar» special.
We asked Frances to wander around taking relaxed/​candid shots during part of the evening and complied them into our «gag reel». It turned out better than expected, even better than the formal pictures. The before and after shots of the table and the rice pot were a hilarious extra. Apparently they are good at blending in and snapping photos without anyone noticing… my egg roll balancing antics have now been enshrined in digital media.
Patrick is a hoot, he is really good with the kids… can get a giggle even out of the most frowny faced kid.
They make a good team, give them a try.

I didn’t really understand the statement — to capture the essence of someone’s spirit through photography until I’ve worked with Frances and Patrick VonWong Photography. The food and yoga photos captured my intention and the message that I wanted to send to the viewer. Working with Frances and Patrick made my vision come alive.

Frances and her husband Patrick are truly wonderful to work with. They photographed my boyfriend and I a few months ago and the pictures came out beautiful.
Frances quickly responds to emails (big plus!!) and took the time to understand what we wanted out of the photos. They are both really creative and paid a lot of attention to little details. They had so many fun ideas for posing and made sure we had good time. They let us pick a location that was special to us and they arrived before us to pick out good spots. I always feel awkward having my photo taken but they made my boyfriend and I feel comfortable and natural.
The finished product was perfect and I can’t say enough good things about them. They put a lot of time into their work and the end result is professional and polished. Patrick and Frances make a great team and each of them captures unique and different shots. Besides being gifted photographers, they are wonderful people who I enjoyed getting to know and working with.

My mother-​in-​law asked if we had a family photo so that she could do a project for Mother’s Day. Thinking back over the pictures that we’ve taken since my daughter was born 18 months ago, we have some but not very nice ones. So I was DELIGHTED to find Frances VonWong Photography on Facebook… it is a new business specializing in family portraits, maternity/​newborns, and weddings. I was impressed to learn that Frances VonWong Photography is focused on giving back to the community and ‘healing hearts one photo at a time.’
I saw the sessions that she had done and posted on her Facebook page and was really impressed. We emailed back and forth, figured out location, the types of poses/​shots that I wanted, etc. She suggested Gamble Gardens in Palo Alto which was a perfect location. I loved that most, if not all were candid/​natural shots of us and our daughter just using the natural light. Frances and Patrick were great and made us feel so comfortable and at ease.
