My wife and I purchased a new house in Redwood City recently and we had an extensive list of renovations planned. Two items were of highest priority in our list of renovations: building an extensive deck and pergola in our backyard and redoing the entrance and walkway to our home.
We canvassed many contractors to bid for our project. Jesse Ososki Art was referred to us by a trusted contractor who had done quality work for us when we resided in San Francisco City. We ended up choosing Jesse Ososki Art for our two top priorities, and the choice was easy.
Upon first meeting Jesse and outlining my plans, we could see that he was immediately engaged and enthusiastic. We envisioned plans both creative and novel, and we immediately resonated with Jesse when he anticipated key artistic aims of our vision and had many creative suggestions on offer to boot. After our first meeting, having downloaded upon Jesse an extensive set of renovation plans, we were both satisfied and impressed that he was able to digest all of our requests and deliver an estimate the very same afternoon of the day of our first meeting. The alacrity of turnaround and detail of his first estimate, his level of engagement and enthusiasm, his excellent attention to communication, and perhaps most of all, his artistic bent, led us to choose his firm to do our highest priority work.
It proved to be an excellent choice.
Let me list the key characteristics that most impressed us:
1. Jesse does a superb job of producing estimates and invoices. Every task is itemized and given a detailed description and estimate. Regular invoices are produced to track progress and work completed. We experienced no surprises. We paid what was estimated. The level of detail and constant written updates left us very assured.
2. Jesse Ososki, and the men and women who work for him, take deadlines very seriously. Out of necessity, we gave Jesse Ososki a hard and aggressive deadline. They honored it and we were very grateful. They take great professional pride in always meeting deadlines.
3. The crew is professional, very hard-​working, meticulous and attentive, and respectful. They are craftsmen. They take great pride in their work. They are committed and involved in the work they are doing. On one occasion, while undertaking a critical task, they did not hesitate to mention that an item may have been overlooked in the planning. The suggested a fix, and though expensive, the suggestion was very critically correct. Many would have overlooked this omission, especially since addressing it would jeopardize the hard deadline they were facing. The fact that they did not omit the suggestion, and still met the deadline, showed great professionalism. We have great admiration for the work done by Jesse, his foreman Raul, Alex, Mario, Roberto and others. We had nothing but pleasant interactions with them all.
4. Our plans required working with many difficult materials. Some of the techniques and materials required were novel to Jesse and crew. But they were unfazed, did their research, and their work really showcases the beauty of the materials.
5. The lines of communication were always open. We had access to Jesse and any of the workmen at any time of day and would get swift responses to our needs and questions. Additionally, we were always kept up to speed on development on a daily basis.
6. Besides being diligent in their craft, the firm of Jesse Ososki is inspired by «art»: hence, Jesse Ososki Art Inc. They are inspired and enthusiastic to create beautiful work. That is a rare quality. For us, it was a boon and a wish fulfilled.
We had two highest priority jobs in our renovation plans. These jobs would be responsible for defining our home and who we are as its residents. We entrusted these jobs to Jesse Ososki and his crew. We are very pleased that we did so and we recommend Jesse Ososki Art very highly to anyone interested in work of the highest order.

Last year, I acted as a general contractor on my own home remodel… it was the first time I’ve done it, and it’s not for the faint of heart! I needed some finish work on an art-​forward fence and awning to complement the architecture in our garden without breaking the bank. Jesse not only gave us a fair price, but he also worked with us to come up with the final design, offering modifications that would help meet our budget while improving the aesthetics to boot. He has a keen eye with the practicality to make project come alive, an incredible team player. Even with a couple of minor changes, Jesse & I were comfortable to come up with fair adjustment to his bill… no nickel and diming on anything! I wish I had had the same experience with several other contractors I’ve worked with before.

Based on the highest praise of Jesse’s work by a couple we’ve known for many years, we retained Jesse for what we thought would be a very simple replacement of built-​in vanity with a new model at a house we rent out. Regrettably, we bought the unit ourselves from a well-​known distributor and asked Jesse to pick it up and install it. However, the distributor delayed the shipment and lied about the timing and when it finally arrived it was damaged.
To get the job done before the new tenants arrived, I had to ask Jesse to send his crew about 50 miles to pick up this very very heavy item. They insisted on opening the crate at the warehouse, and discovered the damage. They took a photo of the damage and emailed it to me, and called to ask if I wanted them to take delivery or not. I asked if they could fix it themselves, and they said yes. I agreed to proceed, they brought it to the site, fixed the dings, and installed it flawlessly.
Throughout the process of our hemming and hawing, and the nasty back and forth with the distributor, Jesse communicated with me by phone and email, exhibiting a calm that reduced my stress about the process and the outcome to nearly zero. I just knew he would get it done. And he and his great team did it.
They also assembled and installed a wardrobe in a tight space and did a great job with that.
Brilliant work. Great professionals. Calm and supportive. Reasonable prices. Timely. What more could you want?

This is the guy. Really. He has designed tables, trellis, chairs, bookcases, headboards, lighting, sculpture, additions, patios, bathrooms, floor plans, there isn’t anything he cannot do.
Best of all, he makes you look good, like you have excellent taste and design cred.
His design is sublime, it melds so well into the feeling of the room or space that no one notices until you point it out that there are 17 different pieces of custom work surrounding them. Jesse Ososki is our best discovery in the Bay Area!
He has done home functional art work for us (see the Window Panels, and the Arching Red Trellis at
) which has provided beautiful solutions for living in a small, unique townhome. He has done utilitarian re-​modeling of bathroom showers/​tubs, floors, fixtures and plumbing in the same home.
And most significantly for us he was the outstanding project manager for a re-​design and complete remodeling of our 60-​year-​old house, creating a charming, efficient and very comfortable new home for us. Every day we enjoy our digs.
Jesse is creative, experienced, resourceful, and an excellent manager of people who work with him. He is responsive to client desires and needs. We continue to enjoy our personal relationship with him, and are pleased to recommend this highly professional contractor.

There’s something to be said for getting exactly what you ask for from a contractor. I hired Jesse and his crew to remodel our backyard shed into a bedroom. The entire process from bid to completion took less than a week, came in exactly at the cost he said it would with no surprises and looked exactly as I had hoped it would, if not better. All of the sub contractors he hired were professional and friendly & left our place exactly as they found it. If I could afford it, I’d hire him to do every room in my house.

This guy did my kitchen remodel, and to say the least, I’m a satisfied customer. That is an understatement. He was so meticulous, so easy to work with, so creative, so responsible, and so fair in his pricing, that I’ve referred him to many of my friends. They rave to me about his «find» of a guy.
He’s our «go to» guy for all our home improvement work. The thing I like best about Jesse is, his prices were up front and fair, and he stuck to the prices. No surprises with him. We even ended up inviting him to our house warming party, and all the compliments we got were largely due to him and his work. I love this guy.
