I love Kim for my hair and make up needs!
Personality: Warm, sweet, and bubbly. I always feel very welcome and comfortable when I see her for a haircut or make up.
Hair cuts: She makes my hair cut visions come true better than I had even thought. I have a nice asymmetrical cut and I personally prefer a blended short to long look. I never liked the harsh straight shaved and long thing some people have. Kim masters the blend. It never looks too choppy and she cuts it just the right length.
Hair color: I am not very picky about my hair color but I do love how dimensional her hair color looks. She puts semi-​permenent color on my hair and I like how it doesn’t damage my hair. I need to go back for a spruce up of color but even after 2+ mo the color still looks great. She uses quality products that are nice to your hair and last.
Makeup: I love how much range she has in terms of make up styles she can apply. Do you want a dark smokey eye? Kim can do it and make your eyes really stand out. She did some sexy eye make up on me and man did my eyes look bigger. But if you prefer a day time more natural look she can do that too and still make your eyes pop. It’s genius. While I am all about eye make up (mostly because I am not that great at applying it myself) I can’t forget that she made the rest of face look stunning. Evened out my skin tone perfectly without that cakey foundation look and applied some nice lip color.
All in all I trust Kim and think she is great. I am so excited to hear she is opening a shop (Thrive) near me in Point Richmond!

Kim was recommended to me by a friend, and I am very happy that I chose her to do my hair and make-​up for my wedding!
To begin, she has a very open, kind and sweet demeanor, which makes working with her super easy, and very relaxing. She was open to all of my make-​up/​hair ideas and easily made them a reality. She didn’t mind when I gave her feedback, and adjusted to my needs (I’m a less is more kind of gal). On the day of the wedding, she was prompt, professional and finished easily within the time limits I had asked. I felt beautiful and was very pleased with the results.

Kim is unbelievably talented — hair styling, cutting, coloring, makeup, and organic homemade beauty products — she does it all. She is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. It was a joy to work with her for my wedding and I would recommend her to everyone. She was able to do both dramatic makeup looks (for me, who wears a full face everyday and is very particular) and subdued natural looks (for my MOH that never wears a lick of makeup). We all looked amazing. I am so grateful to have had Kim be a critical part of my wedding!

Kim is amazing! I was referred to her by one of my friends when I was looking for a hair & makeup artist for my wedding but got frustrated because of some of the insane rates that people were charging, and in all their pictures, you could tell the bride was obviously wearing layers upon layers of makeup.
Kim, however, made everyone looked so naturally beautiful. She doesn’t cake the makeup on you at all, but it really lasts the whole night and you can’t even feel it’s there!
She is also a total sweetheart, really easy to get along with, and very flexible and patient. I was probably not the easiest bride, stress-​wise, for her! We had some last minute changes to where we were taking our pre-​ceremony pics, which of course meant needing to alter the time Kim would need to get to our hotel and finish with all the makeup. My mom also decided she wanted to get her hair and makeup done, which again pushed the timeframe in which everything needed to get done.
However, she was an absolute professional, made everyone look incredible, and got through everyone right on schedule. She was also incredibly accommodating, and she even called a prospective client for me to reschedule an appointment when I asked her to stay to do some touch-​up right before the ceremony, which truly meant so much to me. I really feel like I got a steal booking her in the quality of hair and makeup artist she is!
P. S. She travels outside the Bay Area – our wedding was in Napa County.

I can’t begin to describe what a wonderful person and talented makeup artist Kim is. She did my bridal party, 2 moms, and my makeup for my wedding.
I knew that I wanted a natural look on my wedding day and that’s what Kim & Jackie (hair) did. The only pictures that I showed as what I wanted was the type of hairstyle which Jackie delivered.
My past experience with makeup artists are not very good… I hardly wear makeup and whenever I have it done, it always made me feel drag queenish…

Kim is amazing at what she does. The first bridal trial we did I had ideas in mind that worked better on the models I was looking at than on me. But Kim patiently gave me what I wanted because a bride can be fairly stubborn about what she wants! LOL. After the first didn’t work out Kim traveled down to Aptos (Santa Cruz area) to work with me again (we were in Pacifica the first day). This time I let her know what I liked and didn’t like and she absolutely nailed the look I wanted. My skintone and colors were absolutlye GLOWING and beautiful and healthy. All my natural beauty was played up and I looked natural, and felt comfortable and beautiful. The make up wasnt caked on, the colors were perfect and I looked and felt GORGEOUS. I don’t know what she does, but each time she spent over and hour on make up alone with me and worked super hard to perfect the look. She is literally and artist.
The day of the wedding I changed my hair style and she nailed it and did a beautiful job with the make up. Both stayed on from 9AM-​1AM. I looked and felt comfortable, radiant, natural and gorgeous.
Kim also did a complete make over for my bridesmaid who looked GORGEOUS. She cut her hair, styled and did her make up and she was absolutely gorgeous! She also did my mom’s make up and two other bridesmaids hair and make up. They all looked absolutely fabulous and natural. No one looked overdone or harsh. We all looked and felt gorgeous and it was all due to Kim!
She does an amazing job and really works to get exactly what you want. She blends make up so flawlessly that it looks natural even if you go for a dramatic look. She is top notch and for her price you really should be amazed and snatch her up ASAP!

Kim was referred to me by one of my good friends. Kim did her make up for her wedding and I thought she looked beautiful. So of course I had to contact Kim. After getting in touch with several make up artists I found Kim’s work to be excellent and her prices are affordable.
I had scheduled a make up and hair trial and Kim nailed my make up. I showed her a picture of J Lo and Kim worked her magic. I had to schedule another hair trial since I wasn’t sure what I wanted the first time and Kim helped me finalize my look the 2^nd time.
On the wedding day Kim came with an assistant and they both were very flexible and got hair and make up for 3 brides maids, 1 bride and make up for 2 moms done on time (started at 9 and was done by 2 pm). Kim makes you feel very comfortable. My make up was gorgeous (as well as everyone else) and it lasted all night. She did a great job with my hair too but unfortunately, since my venue was very windy, I had to altar my hair a bit. I got tons of compliments from my guests and pictures came out great. I definitely suggest working with Kim.

Kim really works her magic. Every time I have a event I call her. If she is not available I don’t even go to anyone else. She has done both my hair and makeup and I feel like a movie star every time. Kim has made me sexy for my playboy audition, made me gorgeous for my engagement party, batchelorette party and will be doing my wedding. I have been going to her for 3 years now. I wouldn’t trust anybody else to make me go from bland to glam! She is the best!

Kim is such a delight to work with; I met her twice, once in Connecticut for my bridal trial run and then for my wedding day. I was so worried because by the time I decided that professional makeup artistry and hair would be worth it, I would not be back in the Bay Area until the day before my wedding. Luckily, Kim was going to be on the East Coast for a couple of weeks so I was able to see her for a bridal trial run. During both the trial and the actual day, she was so friendly, sweet, and attentive. Her mastery of colors to fit the person’s personality, age, and skin type is pretty amazing. Also, she found ways to make my thick straight hair stay beautifully curly for hours.
She did the makeup and hair for my mother, my (now) husband’s mother, and me, finding ways to cater the style to each of us. My husband’s mother does not pamper herself with makeup and hair appointments regularly and she was very pleased with the results. We haven’t gotten the photos back yet, but I’m sure they will look great.
Kim came to the hotel we were getting ready at, bringing her tote bags full of hair and beauty supplies, and was very good at improvising with the environment. I wholeheartedly recommend Kim if you are looking for great results and someone who is both fun and sweet to chat with.

Kimberly has done an amazing job beautifying myself, family and friends for my wedding. She is very attentive, knowledgeable and possesses a talent for making anyone look great by emphasizing the best features. As I don’t wear a make up on a regular basis, my biggest concern was to find an artist who can preserve the natural look and bring out the best features. Kimberly did it great!
Also she’s done such a great job with everyone’s hair, we all loved it! If you are looking for a talented artist with a great personality, she is the one :)

It was such a last minute call, I decided to do make up and hair up do to attend a friend’s wedding. Didn’t know who to call, I searched on Unilocal and found the most impressive portfolio on Kim’s website compared to other make up artists’ in town. Kim was so nice to accept my last minute appointment and what a very reasonable price she gave for such a good result I had in the end. She was sooo lovely and I would definitely have her again for my next event. My friend who is also a make up artist said that Kim is the only person she would work with because Kim was so professional and lovely person. Thank you Kim, I had so many compliments yesterday. Previously, I only had experience with Kim’s haircutting skills, but now I finally have an update on her makeup and updo skills.
Kim did my friend’s hair and makeup for her wedding and I would have to say, my friend looked gorgeous! She also did the bride’s mom and sister’s makeup too. They all looked amazing! I was a bridesmaid and when we were at Legion of Honor taking group photographs, passer-​byers would stop and stare at the bride saying «she was the most beautiful bride» no offense to the other brides at Legion.

Kim is the best! She does a great job with dying and cutting/​styling my hair. She also does make up/​make-​overs, but I just have her do my hair. She comes to my house, because she works freelance. This is a huge benefit because it’s cheaper AND comfortable (she doesn’t have to pay salon rent, which brings the price down). It’s great not having to go to a salon anymore, and having my hair done in the privacy of my own home. Love it!
