Ann made my Sunday morning feel like a real treat! She gave me great attention and was a pleasure to chat with, even telling me what was out of style which I appreciated. She helped me pick a shimmery gold color for the accent nail which looked great with the pink I’d chosen. Maite has good availablity and attention to cleanliness. Mornings are a little more relaxed if you want to catch them at a good time.

Got my first set of acrylics here sort of spur of the moment a couple weeks ago. The man at the front desk was SO helpful and friendly, gave me quarters for the meter outside, and was making glittery polish suggestions. The manicurist was quiet but very professional, and she did a fabulous job on my nails. Two and a half weeks later and no lifting at all. It seemed like everyone in there was a regular, which I like a lot.
I did a different color for every nail on each hand, and the price was great (acrylics with gel polish). I’ll be back when I need fills.

LOVE this salon!!! Mina my nail technician is the BEST!!! Mina takes her time to make sure her clients are always satisfied. Lu the owner is always trying to go above and beyond for her clients and takes customer service to another level. I have been a loyal customer for over 2 years. I would never go anywhere else! After giving this nail salon multiple shots, it’s finally come to an end. Their quality has gone down drastically since the first time I came and I’m always left dissatisfied. They always cut my nails really short after I ask for file only & file them roundish after I ask them for square. I’m just over it.

I used to really like this place but my past few experiences have changed that. I came in for gel manicure and was hoping to get TWO of my slightly cracked nails repaired/​glued so they wouldn’t break. The lady who did my nails (she didn’t have a name tag) insisted that I had THREE broken nails and ended up putting acrylic powder over FIVE of my nails? What the hell? I didn’t ask for that! My pinky nail was shorter than my other nails because it broke recently but I told her I would let it grow out on its own. She insisted that «it looks funny» and put a tip and acrylic over it. I honestly have no idea how I ended up with acrylic powder over 5 out of 10 nails when I only came in with 2 nails that needed repairing. My total went from $ 25 to $ 37 for a gel mani AND she refused to file my nails to the shape I wanted them to be because she said they would break. Didn’t receive a hand massage either — something they usually do.
ANYWAY, I won’t be coming back here anymore and these ladies need to keep their opinions to themselves and do what the customer actually wants instead of doing something THEY want and then charging you extra for it. Now I’m going to go home and file my own nails.

I got a coupon for $ 3 off as part of the healthy nail salon program so I made an appointment for my pedicure. When I called, I didn’t get an answer but to my surprise they called me right back using caller ID (I think).
I showed up a just few minutes after my appointment time and they were completely welcoming. The man who received us was super friendly and helpful. He brought us magazines to read and made sure we were enjoying our experience.
The service was quick, but not rushed, and very relaxing. My sister and I both were very pleased with the work and the friendly staff. My pedi came out just as expected. I will definitely go back.

Wow, this place takes a nail salon to a new level. They have a large selection of colors for shellac, probably more than most salons I’ve been at. I was really impressed by the service here, everyone here was extremely polite and professional. The owners really go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable — hot tea or water upon arrival. One of the ladies told me they have a rule where they can’t speak in vietnamese to each other while with a client because they don’t want their clients to feel like they are talking about them behind their backs — I think this is awesome because that’s normally what me and my friends think when we just hear the nail ladies talking in vietnamese the entire time.
For the pedicures, they used a plastic bag for the foot bath which I’m really glad for (yay for being sanitary). Each pedicure comes with a hot stone massage, and the chairs are the massage chairs.
The total cost for my mani (shellac) and pedi came out to $ 50. The owner usually will give a $ 5 off coupon, so for $ 45 the pricing is pretty competitive compared to other salons. Overall I was really pleased with my experience here, everything from the service, cleanliness, and quality of work was exceptional. Found my go-​to nail salon!

Small little place with very nice technicians. Nancy helped me. I received a pedicure and brow wax. Simple and effective. No frills. Reasonable price

I’m a creature of habit and have been coming to Maite for years. Lu always takes care of me. Contrary to some of the reviews, I’ve never been cut by any of the nail technicians. In fact, they’ve actually relieved some pain caused by ingrown nails or hang nails. I’m always welcomed when I walk in, asked if I want tea or water, and seated in a timely manner. I love the hot stone massage with my pedicures. They have several ladies who provide gel manicures (shellac) and a variety of colors to choose from. Today I tried a shoulder massage from Lu and she relieved the tension in my shoulders with a healing oil.
Added bonus: they gave wifi. I usually bring my iPad when I go for pedicures.
Tip: There’s free meter-​less parking behind the railroad tracks.

I love this place, I come here after work cuz it’s right around the corner and it’s always very good. I get my gel manicures done and occasionally pedicures and they always are very detailed with their painting and take their time, they offer you tea which is really nice, and are SUPER adorable especially being in Burlingame! Today I saw Nancy and she did a great job on my gel!

I would come here quite regular and I really liked it. However, today I when I went in for a shellac mani and pedi everything went wrong. The lady who did my gel manicure completely cut me and blamed my «dry» cuticles. I was just there 3 weeks ago and everything went fine with my mani. She probably tried to find an excuse for the cut on my nail.
Second, my pedicure was going well. But the nail polish I had picked was terrible once dried. I think it was because it was so oldie whatever. So then I asked them to change the polish, and it was just so unnecessary to wait so long.
I went in trying to relax and treat myself and I came out super mad and annoyed.
Not coming back here again!

This salon is really reasonable, great mani/​pedi & the manicurists are so much fun!

So it’s been about a few times that I’ve came to this place and here’s what I think…
Pros
1. I live walking distance away so it’s convenient for me
2. Very Friendly and accommodating
3. Nancy does an amazing job with coffin and stiletto shaped nails
4. They take their time with you
5. They do a good job at cleaning your nails
6. Hot stone massage included with a pedi
7. Always offer water, tea, etc.
Cons
1. It didn’t seem like they had swavarski crystals as I was looking in their basket of rhinestones. I should’ve asked. Wish they had more options for better quality gems and rhinestones.
2. Only a couple, MAYBE few, technicians know how to do proper coffin/​stiletto shaped nails and specialize in acrylics. Nancy is awesome. Ask for her.
I came in with a picture and what I got was totally different. Nancy couldn’t do the arrows because I wanted gel, so we agreed on a glitter ombré. I didn’t expect it to be exactly the same and I’m really flexible (Although deep inside I was hoping it would lol) now that I keep staring at my nails, I should’ve just kept it just a simple solid color. The problem was that I expected too much out of this place. However, I appreciated the time and effort these ladies put in. The designs I choose usually are dramatic and sometimes over the top. Today I chose a neutral look with some sparkle. Most of the time the pictures are unachievable. Hence why I’m very understanding and flexible. I tipped Nancy and Lu $ 20 on top of the $ 45 because they took 2 hours on me. I felt bad. But in the end I’m a little dissapointed. If I plan on just having simple solid colored nails then I’m definitely coming back. Still on the journey to finding the best nail technician in the peninsula. Wish me luck!

I came in for a manicure here because my first experience getting my shellac here was so amazing (Fon did SO well and I loved her attention to detail. Because of Fon, I originally gave this place 5 stars!) unfortunately, my 2^nd time wasn’t near as great… A different lady did mine this time:
Pros
1) she was very friendly!
2) 5 out of 10 nails looked decent.
3) hand massage was nice
Cons
1) 5 out if 10 nails looked SO sloppy
2) she didn’t ask what shape I wanted, she just started filing (she didn’t even match in length the two thumb nails)
3) when she applied the base coat, she pretty much just rushed it
4) when she applied the 1^st color coat, she didn’t fill in some of the sides of my nails (again, rushed)
5) when she applied the 2^nd coat, she filled in the sides of my nails but some went over some skin
6) she accidentally made a dent over the 2^nd coat on one nail, so she reapplied a 3^rd coat over it…
7) top clear coat was also rushed
8) during the drying process, you can see the lines of where there was 1 coat only was vs. 2 coats vs. 3 coats. The lines showed up on 4 out of my 10 nails and it was quite bothersome to look at :/​
9) I also noticed these tiny bubbles that were created on the nails that were extra rushed.

*UPDATE: I decided to get my acrylics removed and get a regular mani. I decided to come back because my friend didn’t use her coupon from last time.
I didn’t expect them to remove my acrylics by just peeling them off. It was such a pain! I soaked my nails for about 10 mins in Luke warm water. After Nancy came back and removed them. She just got a acrylic tip that wasn’t used and placed in between my acrylics and nail and just scraped it off. It was painful.
I got a regular mani after. It was decent. There are some air bubbles and you can still see where my acrylics has been under them. She tried to buff them out.
The reason I give it a 2 star still is that they don’t realize that there are specks or bubbles in the nails and when they finish, they don’t double check to see how it is. Oh wells. It cost $ 12 to remove the acrylics by just peeling them off your nails. So I believe that was a little bit too pricey for how they have done it.
I always tip good and I appreciate their hard work but overall experience with the outcome wasn’t satisfying to me. Sorry!

I stop going here for a bit because 1. I worked too far and 2. I found a spot in the city that I love love love. I work in foster city now and completely forgot about this little gem. I had to refresh my memory so I Unilocaled! Ah ha but boo hoo. Because the nail tech I liked doesn’t work there anymore. I decided to give it another try and asked for Jennifer based on the reviews for designs.
I had a pretty good experience and left happy ! she shaped my nails the way I wanted and cleaned up the mess on my fingers. The design wasn’t perfect (line on middle finger wasn’t straight and the nude triangle design is so small.) but close enough and I am happy !

I love going to Nancy at Maite. She does a fabulous job every time. I show her all the designs I would like and she ‘nails’ it every time!

Amazing service and an even better nail job. They were very sweet. I called maybe 45mins before they closed and asked if I could come get a full set manicure. I made it just before 7, so of course the lady had to stay back and work on me. She did without complaining and took her time on my nails– and she listened to every little detail I asked for! The male receptionist offered me tea or water during my session. I love this place and I’m in love with my nails! They were so kind enough to stay back until 8pm. Nancy was my nail lady, she is awesome and totally honors any special nail request you have :) I will definitely visit again and again.
Also, the salon is very clean and the location is great! Right across the street from Burlingame Caltrain station.

Came here for eyebrow wax since I was in the area, and at a quick glance– 4 star reviews, must be a safe bet right?
Should have been more careful, and looked at the reviews for their waxing services.
I asked to keep my eyebrows full, and just do a clean up, and she ended up taking off way too much.
Won’t be coming back here again for any waxing services.
