1. scheduling system is completely screwy. They schedule appointments a month at a time and then give you a print out with times and dates. The print on the page is very small and you either have to have 20⁄20 vision or wear reading glasses to read. The times are what work for them NOT you. You get what you get. There scheduling leads to a lot of confusion. One time I was waiting for my appointment and a gentleman walked in for what he thought was his appointment(the same thing happened to me). The receptionist told him he had the wrong day. He thought he had the right day but they turned him away(again, same thing happened to me). When the gentleman walked out, the two receptionists talked smack about how dumb the guy was and why he can’t get it straight. Totally unprofessional. Uh hello?!? People screw it up because your system sucks. Oh and they don’t let you use your cell phone to input appointments. There are multiple signs and they enforce this weird policy. Telling you to go home and do it on your time. 2. Therapy = basically shame based. Marcie the physical therapist that was assigned to me was one of the most passive aggressive people I have ever met Her affect is completely fake and doesn’t change. Good, bad, sad or glad, this woman has the chirpy affect that is not only disingenuous but annoying. I had an undiagnosed knee problem and she was pushy and implied that I was a whiner and lazy. It turned out I had a bone spur over a centimeter in size that was boring into my bone every time moved my leg!!! 3. Parking lot is always full. Again the people that work there have the attitude that they are doing you some kind of favor and brush off complaints about lack of parking. BTW every time I went there were at least 2 – 3 empty spaces for the employees. They make sure they have ample, close parking but leave patients to hobble up to a couple of blocks(feels like miles when on crutches and or in pain) I am now a Sports Therapy in Burlingame patient and LOVEIT. They take care of you with compassion, make scheduling very easy(they work around your schedule rather than the other way around) and there is always parking. Check out my review of this business if you are in the market for good therapy.

I called here today and from the very begining it was bad. Charlaine answered the phone and was SO rude I couldn’t believe it. It was like I was bothering her, by asking if they took my insurance and that wanted to make an appointment. Dr. Detch recommended them. I need to have PT before I can have ACL surgery. So, then she passed me to Jenny, which at first again it was like I was bothering them. At this point I knew I wasn’t going here just be they way I was being treated on the phone. Jenny wanted to pass me along as well to the Financial Advisor… They were not welcoming at all and made me uncomfortable from the start. I will go somewhere else where they are welcoming and friendly. I definetly don’t want to go somewhere to have my leg fixed when I feel like I am a bother and unwelcomed… I called Physiotherapy Associates down the street, and Amy was so nice, so helpful, and very welcoming!!! What a difference customer service makes! Give them a try before you call Mills-Peninsula Fitness & Therapy Center.

Dorothy was an awesome and patient PT and helped my daughter get back on track with sports and activities. Thank you!

Really bad experience. No parking. Waited a while to see the therapist and she didn’t even give me exercises. Front office staff were rude. I’m cancelling my appointments and going elsewhere.

I’ve been coming here for occupational therapy on my hands(tendonitis in both my thumbs, yippee). I can’t say enough about my favorite therapist Karen. She really knows what she’s doing, and more importantly, she takes the time to listen to her patients and really work to figure out the root of the problem and the best way to treat it. She tries a multitude of methods to treat what’s bothering you and has an almost ESP-like ability to pinpoint exactly where the problem areas are. She’s been able to put into words things I was feeling but not quite able to describe. In addition, she will go out of her way to coordinate with your doctor and put together reports on your progress as needed. The facility also has a gym that I believe is accessible to the public. The scheduling staff is usually really nice and accomodating too. My only beef with the place is that parking sucks a fat one. Their lot is small and almost always full, so I have to cruise around the neighborhood looking for a spot. Oh well, story of the Bay Area I guess.
