My family law practice focuses on issues that concern all members of the family, with special attention to providing for the needs of the children. Often overlooked, children are greatly affected by divorce and family discord, and their desires and needs must be an integral part of the divorce process and resolution. One of my goals as a family law attorney is to help my clients structure a child custody and time share or visitation plan that fits the child’s unique family life and takes into account his or her daily activities and schedules.

I provide advice and guidance to my clients regarding the issues of child and spousal support, and how they are determined under the law of the state of California. I also assist my clients in assessing the various options for property division and settlement. These include the issues of the character and value of community property assets and obligations.

Business Owner

Lisa R. Murray received her license to practice law in California in 1987 and in Hawaii in 2001. Ms. Murray has practiced family law since 1989, assisting families through the difficult divorce process. Ms. Murray serves her community as a mediator, Collaborative Practice lawyer, litigator, court-​appointed child advocate representing children in divorce cases, and Judge Pro Tempore. Ms. Murray’s focus on mediation and Collaborative Practice was borne from her experience of the destructive manner in which litigation separates the lives of parents and children.

Ms. Murray has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer from 2006 through 2013. In 2009 she was honored with a Eureka Award by Collaborative Practice California for her significant contributions and demonstration of abiding dedication to establishing and sustaining Collaborative Practice in California. Ms. Murray received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco in 1987.
