Wanda D H.

Manager

Wanda has been with Physiotherapy Associates since 2006. She has experience in both pediatric and geriatric settings having treated patients with developmental delay, cerebral palsy, neurological disorders and orthopedic conditions. She also has extensive experience working with athletes and tri-athletes with a variety of ailments and chronic conditions. Wanda is committed to expanding her education of physical therapy through mentorship programs focusing on a variety of orthopedic conditions, as well as pursuing training in several aspects of physical therapy including TMJ disorders, chronic pain, core strengthening, and mobilization of the nervous sysytem. Providing her patients with quality care in a harmonious and fun environment is what Wanda strives to attain on a daily basis.

I started seeing Tara as Physiotherapy two months ago to rehab my broken ankle after surgery. She has been everything you would want in a physical therapist. The sessions are productive and she pushes me just enough to move my healing along at a solid pace. I set a aggressive goal to walk (hobble) by my son’s Bar Mitzvah, and she helped me get there.
The rest of the staff, including Alex, are friendly and professional. I recommend Physiotherapy Associates in Burlingame highly.

I was asked to arrive at my son’s first appointment 30″ early but said that I could make it by 15″ early and was told ok– just try to make sure it’s at least 15″ early. So I rushed to the appt and was finished filling out the paperwork in 5 minutes. We then saw someone who looked like the PT walk in and I thought to myself– oh– maybe she can take us early then… nope– we ended up waiting, and waiting til past our appointment time I can’t remember the exact time but I think she finally saw us about 10 – 15 minutes after our appt time and she didn’t even have a patient before us. That initially turned me off and I would have just dealt with it if I thought I was getting excellent service or advice but because I am in the medical field and because I can research exercises on the internet– I felt like he got nothing out of this appointment. I left feeling that I wasted my $ 30 co pay and basically wasted 30″ waiting in the waiting room for no good reason and walked away with 2 exercises that my son already knew.

My family comes here for all their physical therapy needs and have had great experiences. I was referred to physiotherapy associates from my chiropractor in the first trimester of my 3^rd pregnancy. This pregnancy aggravated an old back injury and it was getting hard to function. Wanda and Manisha had provided me with great care. My pain levels were maintained at a manageable level during a challenging pregnancy. I am grateful for having this service. I highly recommend!

PA has wonderfully enabled me to recover from a severe compound shoulder (humerus bone) and cut rotator cuff. My surgeon is «extremely pleased» with my progress and I have gained 80° of mobility since working with the practice.
Highlights include:
Warm/friendly team– People I would naturally enjoy spending time with
Patient empathy– Continually concerned with physical comfort, convenience (eg timings of exercises v therapy), and confidence in treatment methods
Professional– Clean, organized, on time, with an ergonomic office flow, and wisely utilize anonymous feedback. Consistently document patient progress on all exercises/stretches each visit.
Coaching– Consistent and encouraging throughout all visits. Further context: Had to miss visits for 10 days during a and received excellent guidance on making it through it. Handouts provided for all exercises and strong attention to correct form.
Treatment– Focused attention on highest impact exercises and stretches. Expertise in terms of how to prioritize my work in between sessions.
Special notes: Arrive early if you want parking out front and you will need to get the key to use the restroom.
Wanda, Megan, Amy and team have been a pleasure to work with!
Last, I was fortunate to get to work with a «top rated» team from another clinic closer to where I live prior to my time with PA. And the PA clinic exceeds my prior one one every dimension. Go check them out!

My husband went here for physical therapy after a very major back surgery 4 years ago and the care that he received was excellent! Wanda is an amazing physical therapist who is encouraging and very compassionate. I had a stroke in late July 2014 and I have also been cared for by Wanda and it has been, beyond a doubt, the reason for my recovery. Wanda and her team, Joyce, Maneesha, and Amy at the front desk, are all just a pleasure to around, as well as being the best at what they do. The fact that my husband and I each had very different diagnosis’ and we each had such success in our recoveries, speaks to the talent and skill coupled with encouragement and compassion of each clinician. I am still seeing Wanda 3 times a week, and am so blessed to have Wanda and the rest of the team in my corner. I cannot recommend this wonderful team and facility enough! Whatever your physical therapy needs are, they will give you their all!

They offer a wide range of physical therapy excersises. The staff is welcoming and makes the atmosphere feel at home. I recommend this to anyone who has pain or a surgery to rehabilitate and you will improve within a couple of appointments. I recommend this to doctors and to my friends and family. Outstanding, really as good as it gets. I recently completed a two-month rehabilitation course with Wanda and her great crew, after I had both my knees totally replaced. I am truly grateful for their outstanding expertise, high energy, great customer service, and patience with yours truly. Wanda has a DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy, I guess), as does another woman there, and they are supported by a staff of two exercise coordinators (Joyce and Amy). In each session, Wanda gave me hands-on treatments including soft-tissue massage, specialized stretching of my joints, and then Joyce would put me through exercises targeted at my precise needs of the moment. They also gave me instruction sheets for exercises to be done at home. I’m completely convinced that they made all the difference, turning a guy who was just out of the hospital and who could barely walk, into the new me, who can walk without assistance, balance well, even run a little and do moderate squats. The way they fine-tuned my new body parts also gave me a lot more energy and optimism to go back to normal daily life.
I think it’s highly significant that they had two different interns from local schools visiting and participating as well. To me, their presence was a very strong endorsement of Wanda and the whole office by the local universities, plus they brought in the very latest in teaching and research in the field. Besides getting much better physically, I learned a great deal, and I could not recommend the whole office more highly.

This place rightfully deserves 5 stars. Got approval for 12 visits, but I was fine in 2 visits! They found the exact area where my foot was sprained, worked wonderfully well on it, and got me back on the running trail in 4 weeks.
I also received a birthday card from them even after I was finished with therapy.

I had been procrastinating about getting PT for many years until I was in so much pain that I had to take action. I knew no one in my area, and I literally selected Physiotherapy Associates based on their reviews. So here I am, writing about my experience.
This practice knows how to deal with patients. They treat each patient attentively and individually. They are genuinely concerned about «Your» wellness. Wanda and Manisha are simply the best.
Amy is a wonderful resource when it comes to educating on the TENs unit.
Joyce is a fun and uplifting partner when doing your exercises. She actually does them with you!
I highly recommend this practice for any PT needs. I was actually really sad at my very last visit.

I’ve been to Physiotherapy Associates on several different occasions, and have most recently seen Wanda and Amy for help with a hip/back problem. I have to say that these women were really terrific at helping me to feel physically better – way less pain and associated symptoms relating to a tendonitis problem that was really getting to be problematic. The problem is now gone, thanks to the PT AND wonderful staff there. I really can’t say more about the quality of help and the caring personalities.
