These guys are the greatest — and Roy Ilog was fabulous! I’ve had trouble with my electric gate and it just wasn’t closing. Roy came out on a Saturday and within the hour a new chain, and lubrication and the gate works like it should. I would definitely phone R & S before anyone else.

Called in the morning and talked to Zack. Andy got here early afternoon on the same day. Very experienced, replaced both springs was done in an hour. Answered all my questions.

I was able to get a next day appointment with R&S Garage Doors as the gears on my residential door were ‘stripped’. Their very competent technician Ian O’Brien was able to identify the specific part that was bad and he carried the part in his service vehicle. I was able to get our garage door, which was basically functionless, fixed without any unnecessary ‘sales pitch’ and because Ian was so forthcoming with the solution, I had him do a general service alignment on my door.
The price was very reasonable and the service was quick. It’s always good to get a company that does a good job at a very reasonable price.

Great experience. Appointment for estimate was as scheduled. Martin was very personable and the quote he emailed me beat the other quotes I received. Ian installed the door on the time and day he was scheduled– he did a great job and we have received numerous compliments.

Been using this company the last 10 years and it always provides reliable, quality and affordable service. Last Feb 2, 2015, Dominic fixed our garage door motor that misfires occasionally and also performed preventive maintenance on two garage doors in a timely and expedient manner.

Our garage door was not working and I was able to book an appointment the same day. The technician Dominic arrived on time and fixed the door and did maintenance at a very reasonable price. Would definitely call them again!

When I called the number at 10 pm, I spoke to Doreen who tooky my information — was so nice and understood what was broken. In the morning I spoke to a very nice young woman in the office (sorry, I’ve forgotten her name) and she made an appointment for the afternoon between 1 and 2 (when I knew I would be home) and it was LIKE MAGIC! Marty arrived at 1:05! He was clean, polite, and had the tools and parts he needed — he could see what was wrong. He fixed the broken hinge and loose rubber strip and checked the other bolts. I was very relieved it was fixed so quickly (before it fell on someone — at least that was my fear!). Thank you R and S, and thank you Marty!

We’ve been using R&S for several years now for our garage door needs, and are pleased with their service. Yes, I would recommend their services to friends, family and neighbors! The only reason I cannot give them 5 stars today is because of a scheduling error. I was told 10:00 — 10:30 a.m. was my appointment time, but when nobody came by 11:00, they said our paperwork was lost. I was rescheduled to 3:00 — 4:00, but they ended up coming before 2:30. Ok, that aside, I would have made this a 5 star review, but I have to be honest and thorough, and appointment times are important, especially if you have taken part of the day off to be there!
My garage door had two broken springs. Dominic came out to replace the springs. He was wonderful. Kind, courteous and professional, he took the time to inspect the door, fill in a gap that he found, made sure everything was balanced and lubed. Their pricing is competitive. He worked neatly and efficiently and was done in no time. He explained everything to me, even what the springs are made of! Dominic was great.
Since I have only acquired their service for garage door related issues, I can only speak to that. I can say with confidence that if you need to have your door repaired or springs replaced, etc., give them a call. We have been very pleased with their service over the years!

Poor follow through. Called and talked to a nice lady, had an appointment for an estimate, talked to the salesman after he came to measure about options and he said he’d email me a quote. Never heard back. Called back to ask for the estimate to be sent a couple weeks later, still no follow up.
If you can’t do it, just tell me instead of wasting my time!

I waited a few weeks to write this review to make sure our garage doors kept working properly after Marty did the repairs. I am happy to say that everything is working perfectly and that R&S saved the day! Marty was great – he diagnosed and explained everything to me and did not mind my popping outside to watch and ask questions. Marty is very patient and thorough, knowledgeable too. He also showed up on time which I really appreciated. He was polite and respectful and got the job done right. We are thrilled with the work Marty and R&S did and will use them again as well as recommend them.

I am 100% thrilled with my experience at R&S. The service, follow up and attention to my needs is over the top. Marty is an amazing partner and provided the solution to replacing my wood door in my low clearance garage. No other garage door company was able to figure out how to find room for the door hardware and Marty was. When I discovered I needed an adjustment after replacing my driveway, Marty came out immediately to assist. The installers are respectful and efficient. I am so grateful to find top notch service with R & S and I will stay loyal forever more!

We have a very complicated gate entry system than was in place befroe we moved here, then has been randomly fixed and modified multiple times and never really worked correctly. Yesterday wires turned black, most of the functions didn’t work, and we called R&S. The person than came out (Ray I think) was beyond excellent. He somehow figured out the many disparate parts of our system and came up with a good working solution. He was extremely knowledgable about the DoorKing operator system. Just a great experience! They also called back right away asking if we needed after hours help last night, and then promptly sent someone out this morning.

Great service from R & S! Ian was prompt, personable, and efficient. I highly recommend this company for any garage door service or maintenance.

These people are experts. Simple as that. They always repair or install correctly, are on time and price valued. Highly recommend.

A day in Dec 2012, after discovering that one of the springs was broken in my old garage door, I called R&S Erection of San Mateo at 11:00AM and requested the replacement of both springs and the motor. Maybe I was lucky, but I got a same day appointment between 1:00 to 2:00PM. Ian arrived at 1:50PM, and for the next two and a half hours or so, he got the job done with care, courtesy and professionalism.

We have had nothing but problems with this gate company. They have also attempted to service our garage doors, but that has also not gone well. Their billing is confusing, and nearly every time they’ve been here to fix our gate they need to come back within a few months. One time they didn’t even show up for an appointment!

R&S replaced our old garage doors and did a nice job. On time and the price was competitive. Recommended.

This company did a fantastic job on fabricating and installation of wrought iron fencing, gates, stair railings and intercom. Their work was on time and in sync with the estimate. While there were a few minor deivations from the plans, they were either required due the existing terrain/​grading that the plans did not reflect or they were corrected without incident. Les, the estimator/​lead foreman is one of the nicest people you’ll ever met and his office staff, Rebecca and crew, Dan and Roy, are just as nice. So if your looking for professional and outstanding workmanship, competitive pricing and wonderful people to work with, this is your company.

We bought a new garage dsoor opener from Home Depot. The installer Frank’s Garage door installers thinks the Whisper Drive we bought from Costco was malfunctioning with the light too close to the circuit. Because R&S never responded to complete the original repair, they lost the cost of a new opener plus installation. We are happy with our new opener without the hassle of the other malfunctioning every other time we used it. Too bad R&S did not finish their job and return with the part form the first call. They lost a $ 300 call to install and sell a new garage door opener.

Did a great job on a crummy garage door, and was very nice.
I highly recommend them for anything garage door related.
