East Coast native Sophie Cole crossed the country in 1986 to complete her medical residency at the University of California San Francisco and has remained a Bay Area resident ever since. Sophie’s philosophy is to develop partnerships with her patients, empowering them to become engaged in their own health maintenance and to be involved in the decision-​making processes that impact their care. She strongly believes in behavior modification and non-​pharmacologic therapies as initial treatments whenever appropriate. Sophie is particularly interested in musculoskeletal illnesses and injuries, gastrointestinal diseases, and nutrition and exercise.

Sophie is certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine and attended Yale University School of Medicine.
