A Sophisticated Pair

Do you have boobs? You need to go to A Sophisticated Pair as soon as you possibly can!
I went in today because I can’t remember the last time I bought a bra, and recently my back has been hurting and my boobs have been sore — both which I attribute to the worn out, ill-​fitting bra I had strapped on me. I’ve had really bad/​embarrassing fitting experiences in the past, and so I definitely found myself sitting in my car trying to psyche myself into going in for a few minutes.
There was no need! I was immediately greeted by a kind employee who asked me what had brought me in. She let me know that Erica (the store’s owner & fitting expert) was just finishing up with a customer, and she invited me to either have a seat or browse. I could tell the customer Erica was working with was really pleased with the experience, and I was immediately at ease. The shop was very cute, very clean, and well organized — 0 intimidation.
The employee (whose name I didn’t get, which is a shame because she was just delightful!!) brought me back to a dressing room, and explained Erica would be right in. You *need* Erica to help you with your bra fitting! I told her I was a little embarrassed (and in pain) with my current bra situation, and she was quick to assure me it was a judgement-​free zone. We discussed my preferences, she took my measurements and eyeballed the situation, and came back with a bra that fit perfectly! I’d been shoving my poor boobs in a 38D when I border on a 38DDD/​E!!! Her employee came back a moment later with 3 more bras in nude (I think to make sure we’d nailed the size), and then the bras just started raining in! All different shapes, colors, fabrics, and styles! I had told Erica that I didn’t know what exactly I was looking for (aside from «a new bra») so she did a great job of pulling all different varieties. The selection was HUGE and so much fun (which I’m not used to having a larger-​than-​C cup).
I found so many bras that I liked that I started to become nervous (even at her reasonable prices, bra’s ain’t cheap!) I didn’t say anything, though, and simply figured we’d duke it out at the register. However, at one point, Erica told me that any bras I liked but didn’t want to go home with she would note in my file, so that I could come back for them some other time, or they could be used as «wishlist items» (the Boyfriend is always looking for gift ideas, so this is perrrrfect!). I ended up leaving with 5 bras and spending right at $ 250. Erica was very clear about what was on sale, and even made sure to check that I was ok with one of he bras being on final sale (and 50% off cha-​ching!). She’ll also order styles & colors for you if she doesn’t happen to have them in house.
A+ experience, I will absolutely be back! Her employee noted at the register that I’d come in looking worried and was leaving with a smile on my face — if that doesn’t sum up my experience I don’t know what else could!

Okay, so I must preface this review by stating that I have never actually been to the store (yet), but I have worked with Erica on an online order, so I am going to touch on that.
First off, Erica is amazing. I have been following her blog for about a year now, and have been enjoying her reviews, and especially the incredibly helpful video reviews. It’s quite easy to learn and figure out whether a bra will work for you or not based on her review. I also love that she does follow up reviews, as it’s been a big help in deciding whether or not I should order a bra that I have been on the fence about (like the Parfait Charlotte, which I will not be ordering since the quality is not up to par).
Anyway, I had tried Comexim (An amazing Polish brand that you can purchase via Erica) myself back in the late fall, but the communication was a bit difficult-​understandably so, since they speak Polish and we were both relying on google translate to help figure out order information. I placed an order, but they totally missed the fact that I wanted matching underwear for one of the bras (I didn’t get charged for it, they just missed the request entirely). I also ended up with two awesome bras that fit perfectly in the cups, but are far too big in the band (which I could wear on the tightest hooks immediately), as I ordered their recommended size based on my measurements.
So after all that, I still love the Comexim bras, but I didn’t want the hassle of that again. Fast forward a few months, and I find out that A Sophisticated Pair will be selling Comexim in store and in their online shop. Hooray! I knew immediately that I could place an order with Erica and it would go much smoother because she would be communicating with them. Yes! Slightly prior to Erica’s announcement of beginning Comexim sales, I placed an order for two basics for my mom through another online site.
I also began communicating with Erica about placing orders through her shop because I like her and I want to support what she’s doing. I kept her updated on all the issues my mom and I both had with our basics (I am a 30GG and my mom is a 38HH) ordered from the other site. My mom’s breast tissue was too heavy for the cups, so they were collapsing from the weight of her breasts. I did a lot of back and forth with the online shop, and I kept Erica updated so that she’d have some ideas of how they work in larger sizes. The whole time she was so incredibly helpful. She let me know that the Anna Pardal Comexim line (their regular line is called Linea Artisana) was different, and that the Emmeline would be sturdier in the cups. So I placed an order then for the Butterfly and the Monaco (which turned out to be a bikini-​oops!) as well as an Emmeline for both my mom and I.
Fast forward a little bit, and Erica let me know that Comexim was taking a break from their larger custom sizes (for whatever reason, 38HH is custom from them). A bit disappointing, but we’ll order one for my mom whenever they resume. So Erica placed my order along with her store order, and kept me informed the whole way through.
All in all, we exchanged some 32 emails! Crazy! It was a lot of back and forth, and Erica was so nice the whole time. I don’t know any other store owner who would do that for their customer. Erica is seriously amazing. She spent so much time communicating with me to make sure things were right, and I cannot say enough positive things about her. I tell everybody (well, people in the proper bra fitting communities I belong to that is) how great she is. I hope she gets lots of business!
You can easily place an order with her, and the communication is awesome. She answered any questions I had quickly, and I got all of the information I needed. Really, you can’t go wrong ordering with her. I hope next time I go to NC, that I’ll be able to meet her in person. I love the look of the store, and I’m a big fan of hers.
Also, I sent her some bras to donate (she has previously had a donation thing going for TROSA), and I know she’ll make sure they go to people who really need them.
It has been a great experience and I will gladly place orders with Erica & ASP in the future! She is a pleasure to do business with.

As a woman blessed with more cuppage then others, it is hard to find good quality support for the girls. I can finally say that my search to find good quality support has ended. A Sophisticated Pair exceeded my expectations on bra shopping. You’re probably thinking it’s just a bra shop… well you would be wrong!!! I have found my bra guru in the owner Erica. She is knowledgable about her product, makes you feel at ease during the process (yes buying a bra once you enter the F cup and above range is a process), and is available to her customers after you are done shopping.
Here’s what to expect when you first visit the store:
1. First you are greeted by Eric and her aunt (gotta love a family owned business).
2. Erica takes you back to the fitting rooms where she will either measure you for your perfect fit or if you know your correct size she will find you a vast selection of various styles.
3. After trying on all that Erica has brought back for you (she does check on you after each style) you then get to a test run.
4. The test run consist of trying on your favorite style and wearing it under your clothes while Erica explains all your options in the various catalogues. The shop doesn’t carry all the styles that are available, but Erica can order what you like in your correct size and ship it to you for free!
5. Once you pick out what you want to buy/​order Erica will compile a list of other styles that you like but probably can’t afford to buy all at once and keep a list for you for future orders. Erica will also use that list as an email newsletter to let you know what new styles so you never miss out on your wish list.
Obviously, I will be back to shop there and I hope I have saved someone from the dreaded 3^rd boob.

After a few years of struggling to find a great bra store and bras that are pretty, supportive, and fit well, I have found both in one place! As a former Victoria’s Secret employee, I can tell you that the ladies at A Sophisticated Pair know what they’re talking about, especially when it comes to a larger bust size. Erica was so friendly and helpful– she found tons of bras for me and helped me check the fit on every single one until I was satisfied. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a wonderful return policy, as well as 10% off if you want to pre-​order styles from a catalog (with no obligation to purchase if you end up not liking it), AND she offered to ship me bras for free since I am moving to Greenville, NC in the next couple months. I’m a huge fan of this place. Erica is fantastic — when 1 of my bras broke (because of a manufacturing defect), she said she’d take care of contacting the company and gave me a replacement for the bra right away. She was also great during the fitting process.
If you are a woman with a larger size bust, you should definitely check this place out. They have a nice selection, and they work with you to find the best possible choices for your body, budget, clothing, etc. Most of all, the customer service is fantastic.

If you know anything about me, know that I am passionate about bra fit. Ladies, if you have never been properly fitted for a bra (big box lingerie store fitting doesn’t count!), DO IT. You’ll feel like a new woman when you find your correct size — it can be life changing!
First let me say that this is not a review for the actual store, as I have never been there. I order online, and I have also talked with Erica over the phone.
Ordering on the web site is a breeze. I like that they have sizing tips and fitting advice. When you’re signed up for emails, there aren’t too many and there’s always tons of useful information in them — including sales, reviews, fitting tips, bra care, etc. If you follow her on Facebook, you’ll find she posts relevant, interesting links (loved that piece by Johnny Zapp!).
Even though I have never met her, Erica is someone I admire. Kudos to her for opening a much needed store like this! She’s extremely professional and so friendly. If I ever get back to NC again, I will definitely make the trip to visit the store.

I can’t believe I drove from Raleigh to Burlington for a bra! Ladies, it is worth the drive! The customer service, fitting, selections brought to me and prices were perfect! I left with 3 bras including a sports bra and 1 bra will be delivered to me for FREE. As soon as I left I called a friend and said I found a new bra place! Thanks Erica!
