Del Frisco’s Grille

This time around, I went with my co-​workers. Flatbread apps are pretty good, ahi tuna tacos are pricey but delicious, and so are their philly cheese steak eggrolls.
For lunch, I decided to get their prime steak sandwich with sauce and it was amazing!
This place is def on the higher end in terms of price. I wouldn’t go here on my dime, but not a bad choice if you get an expensed lunch.

This was the worst brunch I have ever had.
I first want to start off this review by stating that I don’t give 1 stars, I review places good and bad, and this is a genuinely terrible experience.
As I approached the host stand I encountered the only able and smiling person here. She brought us to our table and left a service book and a guest chit with our parties name and server’s name on it.
18 minutes later I went back to the host to find a manager because nobody ever said anything to us or acknowledged us other than some creepy bus boy who just kept staring at us before walking away.
The manager immediately offered free apps before brunch. We found it odd that he gave us cheese steak egg rolls and tuna tacos before our breakfast, but it was appreciated.
5 minutes after speaking with the manager our server arrived. She took our drink orders, brought us mimosas and then went off.
As soon as one of our party left the table our server returned to the table to take our order. When asked to keep an eye out for our whole party to be at the table, she again vanished for another 15 minutes.
We ordered a 2 banana French toasts with bacon, a pork burrito, a waffle, a crab cakes benedict, salad and fries. There were 4 of us.
Apps arrived, and were the only part that weren’t offensive. I may even recommend the tuna tacos. But the guacamole is just smashed avocado.
Food arrives and the bananas on the French toast were so rubbery they couldn’t be cut with a fork, the crab cakes were blackened burnt as though they were on fire, the bacon was jerky, and the fries were cold.
We had them take away all the food and asked to be finished so that we could go elsewhere. After 15 minutes of waiting for a bill to come back, nobody ever returned so everyone in my party left assuming it would be comped. I walked over to our server while she was making coffees to ask how much our bill was in order to tip her. She then asked if I would like my check to pay for the meal. After sending everything back I was shocked to receive a bill. The manager explained that he thought we were still enjoying our food. This is impossible as he personally took everything back for being outrageously burnt. I paid, tipped the server 20% on the original total and left to never again return to this location or any other ever again.
This was the worst dining establishment I have been to in the bast 5 years. Wanted to go to the bancroft but they no longer offer brunch.

I’ve never written a detailed review of a restaurant before, but I felt compelled to do so after having dinner tonight at Del Frisco’s Grille in Burlington, MA. I made reservations to have dinner for my friend’s belated birthday. It was a surprise to her, she didn’t know where we were going. Once we left she had said she didn’t want to say anything, but had been there a few times and wasn’t highly impressed on her previous visits. I wish she had said something when she found out we were actually going there the day prior.
Let me note this by saying I am a server at a well known restaurant that’s been in business for years. I have over 7 years experience. I pride myself on giving good service and knowing my job and what to do in all situations, so I don’t want to say I have high standards, but I have expectations.
We were seated right away. The server was extremely nice but a little «game show host» like which made things awkward. It was actually kind of funny. So no harm done.
The food was quickly prepared and brought out, which was nice. But that was pretty much the only good thing about our dinner here.
My friend asked for a soda and never received it. He came to the table and dropped off drinks, but forgot her’s. She asked again and he came back a third time without it. He finally recalled and dropped it off with no apology. This happened again when she needed a refill.
Another friend ordered the steak salad. She wasn’t given a steak knife with it. She asked for a steak knife and it was never brought over. We had to ask the manager (or the woman walking around with an iPad), and instead of her just going to get it, she asked another server who wasn’t our waiter. He brought it over. Then our waiter brought another one over not knowing she already had one. She said «thanks, but i have one now». His response was «appreciate it». We were confused by that. It took a long time for her to get her steak knife because we were halfway through our meals and she hadn’t even eaten a piece of steak yet.
I’m going out of chronological order here, but that’s ok. We ordered the Asian street tacos as one of our appetizers and when we got it we were shocked to find TWO microscopic tacos in a holder that could easily fit 3 or 4. For a price averaging $ 12 per starter, this was alarming and quite frankly a rip off. The tacos consisted of pork and produce and were 1 bite a piece. Later we saw an appetizer go out that looked like the same item and there were definitely more than two on there.
Me and my friend ordered the prime rib sandwiches. I’ve had better for $ 8 from a roast beef shop. The meat was very overcooked and tasted burnt. Not to mention the sandwich itself was very plain with nothing else added but bread and meat. For $ 17 (I believe, or around that), it’s a complete rip off. The side of «au jus» was two spoonfuls of gravy that had a funny taste to it. It didn’t add any flavor to the dish at all.
The two worst things that happened during our dinner: as the food was delivered, one of the food runners or other servers was placing the food on the table and messing up what belonged to who. No biggie. But as he was trying to put the plate down, he spilled all the fries all over the place and dumped the whole serving all over me, the table, the floor, and most importantly in my very expensive bag that was right beside me. Greasy fries all over the inside of my bag. There was no apology that any of us heard. And the fries he was trying to serve me weren’t even mine, they belonged to my friend and ended up in front of me but not on the plate. All. Over. The. Place.
After he brought over new fries, another server was walking by our table and brushed very hard against my friends elbow and knocked it on the corner of the table. No recognition and no apology. And she was like «ouch, that kind of hurt!».
I’m not one to expect any freebies, but like I said, I’m a server myself. And if I dumped a whole order of French fries on my customer, you better believe I would go straight to my manager and admit I did so before the customer got to the manager… and we would comp a meal, app, drink, or odder free dessert. None of which happened. We never even got apologies. Pretty shitty if you ask me. Considering their prices, mediocre food, small portions, weak drinks that were too small, and forgetful service, I believe something should have been offered.
Oh, and one more thing? My friend who had the birthday. They brought out the cake with a candle in it when our whole crew wasn’t all together at the table. One of our friends was in the restroom. As a server, I would have never done that. I would have waited till everyone present was seated at the table before bringing over a birthday cake with a lit candle. She almost missed the whole thing. Rude.
So this place left a lot to be desired and provided pretty lame service in light of all the hiccups throughout the meal. There were 5 of us and none of us will be back.

Spencer is the best!!! Love love love this place Food is awesome Service is great. Love the deviled eggs. So yummy. Did I mention Spencer is the best!!!

So happy to find out the Grille also makes the Lemon Cake. Formerly lived in Dallas and was required to bring home a piece of cake every time I had happy hour at the steakhouse. It was just as delicious tonight in Burlington.

What a fantastic afternoon with beautiful and talented bartender Ashley. Great time, great food amazing service. Even the Manager Michael stopped by twice. Not often you have such a friendly staff. Can’t wait to go back when Ashley is working

We went to Del Frisco’s for my birthday and it was FANTASTIC. Since it was a fancy occasion we ordered steak (I got NY strip, my SO got Filet Mignon). When they bring the steak to the table they have you cut it open to make sure it’s cooked correctly (which it was). The seasoning and charring and everything else was perfect with the steak. It just melted like butter in my mouth. Also, it comes with fries which, in my opinion, is how steak should be served. The crab cake appetizer, though a little on the messy side, was delicious as well. Their cocktail menu wasn’t very appetizing to me but my drink (whiskey and ginger ale) was made well. Finally, the highlight of the meal… the waitress knew it was my birthday so after the meal they brought out a free MASSIVE piece of lemon cake with a candle and a card signed but a bunch of staff. I mean the cake was seriously a massive slice as big as my face. It was sooooo good. I would have taken a picture, but I was too busy eating it :-) I will definitely return to Del Frisco’s for special occasions (it’s a bit too pricy for a normal night out).

Del Frisco’s Grille in Burlington pleasantly suprised me after a poor performances at the chain’s other outpost. The steaks were great, the sides underwhelming and I was not digging the appetizer options. I’d prefer a more classic steakhouse menu.

Service was awful, waited over an hour and half while party after party walked in and were seated within 10 to 15 minutes without reservations! We were then seated right next to the kitchen! Unbelievable and the food wasn’t worth the wait! ! So sad we had high hopes. The hostesses act like they the key to ft knox.

There was 3 I guess hostess and no not greeted either and asked if I could move up my reservation which I was looked at with that r u kidding look she just said we r booked and that’s it
I just think these hostesses and waiters have zero customer service ethic, and they clearly demonstrated that !! No suggestions no nothing no help in offering or appeasing the bar is right there have a drink and if I could possibly move you in sooner I will do that
First the waitress offered zero for suggestions and never even tried the meal I inquired about
Secondly my meal was so under cooked I had to send it back and by another member of the wait staff
Overall it was a terrible was of time and money

For $ 200.00, I would expect better service and a steak that didn’t taste like it was cooked on a campfire. It was burnt from side to side making it difficult to taste what was burnt under the charred meat. Worst part was when I noted this to the waitress and she informed the manager. The manager couldn’t even spend the one to two minutes to come over and address the issue. This location doesn’t compare to their Boston restaurant. I felt like I was dining at an upscale Applebee’s (oxymoron). This place is highly underwhelming.

we had dinner for two on a recent saturday at 530. The place was 75% full
Must say that the greeting at the front desk was subpar. There were 3 hosts there but no one greeted us with a smile or welocome when we walked in.
We had the ahi tuna tacos to start. They were fine except the shell was too greasy.
We also had the kale salad to start anf it was ok as they was way too much cheese and dressing on it.
I had the green chili cheeseburger and my wife had the salmond which she liked. The burger was great and the overall service by Rita was great as well.

While it may look like a big pretentious box from the outside, on the inside it’s different from the typical cocky steakhouse. Sure they have a few cuts of steak at $ 40+, but even those come with a side of potatoes. The whole ‘à la carte’ side thing is annoying at the fancy steakhouses. Most of the menu is made up of upscale American fare and the prices aren’t as astronomical as you’d expect.
We started with the Grille salad and the tomato/​burrata salad, both were delicious and not overly filling for appetizers. My wife’s filet as cooked perfectly and the fact that they can do fries gluten free is awesome. I went with the burger, which was made up of 2 tiny patties. It didn’t look like much, but tasted delicious with perfectly crispy sweet potato fries on the side.
They have a good amount of gluten free options marked on the menu including flatbreads and french fries.

I really enjoyed the night here. Me and my boyfriend went to here to celebrate. We didn’t make reservations on a Friday night so we we’re taking a chance. The staff told us it would be a 20 min wait or we could sit at the bar upstairs. We chose the bar, no knowing what we were getting into. The bar was on the second floor. We chose seats outside as it’s outdoors and indoors. The bar chairs we’re comfortable and the atmosphere was great, especially because it was a calm summer night.
The bartender was extremely attentive and nice and we ordered right away. For an appetizer we ordered the special chicken lollipops, essentially chicken wings on a stick. Chicken was tender and tasty and we got our food right away. For entrees I had the lobster roll, which was pricey but decent. It wasn’t anything too amazing, but it was how I like it, not covered in Mayo, just simple on a bun. It came with a side of coleslaw which was alright and I had the parmesan frite fries. I’m not huge on fries but they were thin, crispy and delicious!
My man had the lamb burger. I had a taste of this and I really regret not ordering it myself. The Lamb was juicy and perfectly cooked, the arigula fresh and the tzakiki sauce was really tasty. Ill definitely be going back just for my own lamb burger.

Made a reservation for our anniversary and I love that when we arrived, the hostess and manager both wished us a happy anniversary!
The décor of the restaurant is very nice and relaxing, trendy but not overwhelming. The leather wrap-​around booth is very comfy and cozy for our anniversary date. And the smooth music in the background is at a good volume to hear and appreciate but not too loud to overwhelm.
We started with the cheesesteak egg rolls. They were very filling and hearty! Had a nice taste of the cheesesteak plus the Chinese flavor with the duck sauce on the plate. Presentation was great.
Had the red Sangria and it was delicious. A good amount of sweetness and a ton of flavor. Well done.
I had the beef stroganoff which was delicious. Beef was nice and tender and the flavor was wonderful. The little bits of fried onion were a nice touch! I’d definitely get it again. Good portion size too.
And hubby had the sole. A bit lighter than the beef (to be expected) but tasty and very fresh. The lemon overtones were good.
Also had the truffle Mac and cheese as a shared side which was amazing. Had a nice crust in it for a little crunch and very big of flavor.
In terms of the customer service, it was fantastic! I would give them 10 stars if I could. At the end of the night, they surprised us with a happy anniversary card and some cake and champagne. Wow, they certainly went above and beyond!

Thank you Del Friscos for making my birthday celebration last night extra special. This was my first time here at the restaurant and I was not disappointed. Our large group of eight was seated on the upper level of the restaurant. I admired the stylish and trendy design of the interior. The second floor is also dimly lit which I absolutely love. Next time I am definitely sitting on the outdoor deck which looked amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She went the extra mile as our photographer and took a bunch of photos of our group until we had the perfect one.
Our food and drinks were excellent. I really enjoyed the cheesesteak eggroll appetizer and the steakhouse salad was just delicious!
I need to eat more salads and this is a perfect way to make them a little more exciting for me.
The birthday card and candle in my coconut cream pie was a nice touch and completed my night. I think I have found a new restaurant to add to my list of favorites.

Came here for brunch with some friends and we sat out in the sun. They have a pretty nice patio and it’s great for enjoying the nice weather!
After browsing their menu I settled on the chicken sandwich. It was decent, but forgettable. Others in my group tried their steak sandwich and Red Velvet Belgium Waffles. Everything looked good, but I wasn’t WOW’ed by anything…
Service was quick and friendly… So it’s Ok in my books.

Realistically, it’s a solid 3.5 stars but since I can’t give that — i’ll round up.
This place is nothing at all like the steakhouse, nor does it pretend to be in my opinion. Somewhat overpriced for the portion size but everything I had — was tasty and had good flavor.
I’m very surprised waitstaff are allowed to look the way they do — their skirts are so short — it’s borderline lingerie. Honestly, this type of a dress-​code really cheapens the overall feel of the place, management should really look into spending some time at Earl’s in Somerville to see what waitstaff SHOULD look like.
Service was good, not pushy and overall attentive. I just think that if I bothered to put myself together to go out, then the people working at the restaurant (waitresses) shouldn’t make the atmosphere feel like I rolled into Golden Banana.

We LOVE del frisco’s grille, we go there all the time. There was a special this week for $ 20.00 off $ 50.00 so my friend and I went in for lunch. The fish in the ahi tuna was not fresh. It was purple/​gray and mushy. There was too much lime. Typically when we get this, it’s bright pink and delicious.
The parmesan truffle fries tasted like they have been left out for some time, it was room temperature and getting stale.
The shaved sprouts flat bread was good. We asked for extra bacon and they were able to do it.
I like that we were able to order a carafe of wine instead of a bottle. I hope it was just a hiccup at the restaurant.

I’m already a huge fan of the Del Frisco Double Eagle steak house, so I was rather looking forward to trying out the new Grille that they opened near my work. And I was not disappointed.
First off, the service is exquisite. I went with a friend who had previously gotten a root beer float even though it wasn’t on the menu. When we asked our waitress for the root beer float, she told us it wasn’t available. However, after inquiring a bit more, she got another waitress who was making them and they made a root beer float for both me and my friend. They even made it right in front of us, old-​fashioned way. What service!
As for the meal, it was lunch, so naturally we wanted it to be fast. The food came out quickly and the presentation was great. My Prime Steak Sandwich was delicious with the meat perfectly medium-​rare and all the right seasoning. Nothing to complain about.
Overall, I’m really glad Del Frisco Grille opened up, and I’m looking forward to many more trips here.
