The calamari is not your typical deep fried kind so be warned, my waitress failed to let me know prior but did want to make the comment after it arrived that«oh yeah many people make that mistake». Also the chicken masala wasn’t appealing it was mixed together and chicken was diced. The only reason they didn’t get 1 star is because the manager chased me down in the parking lot to acknowledge my concerns.

Tiny little restaurant with good food! The bread & dipping oil they serve you to start with is phenomenal and they will refill your basket as much as you like. I would recommend the Sausage Siciliana(not on menu here but was on dinner menu when we went in). Waitress was super friendly and helpful! She did a super great job, especially being the only waitress there at the time. Prices on average were $ 12.95-$ 15.95 for the entrees. Very good food for the price, will definitely come again.

Have not been in several years, was pleasantly surprised. We had a large party, the waitress was very attentive, meals came out quickly. Large portions, good flavor for a moderate price.

My coworkers order take out from here about once a week. The prices are fairly cheap which is a definite bonus! The portion sizes are pretty large so we can usually split a salad and pasta between 2 people. The order always includes bread and oil to dip it in which is a huge hit here. The staff is friendly and quick to prepare our food, it’s always ready when they say it will be. I will definitely recommend this restuarant to friends and family and will continue ordering from here in the future

I work close by so my coworkers and I are always ordering takeout, the food is always ready and on time when I get there. Staff is quick and very friendly! I recommend my personal favorites, the Caesar salad and of course the bread with the dipping oil.

Had dinner here about two weeks ago. I’d been told good things about this place, but was not impressed. Arrived about 5:30pm on a Saturday and was seated immediately(there were four of us). We were promptly served bread and oil, which was okay. The restaurant filled up pretty fast after we arrived. So I understand that when things get busy it takes a few minutes for everyone to get settled… But our server took forever to bring our drinks, take our order, and our food took between 30 – 45 minutes to arrive. And not only did it take forever to get our food, but our meals were all brought out at different times. My son had long completed his meal before the rest of us even had a plate of food. The food wasn’t that great — tasted more Americanized than Italian(I’ve been to Italy, I’ve tasted the difference.) My pasta was soupy. The staff were inattentive and lacked hospitality. Everyone there seemed like they hated their job, including the cook who brought out our food and the person in charge of running the floor. If the food were better or the service was par, I’d consider eating here again. But neither happened. Won’t be back and won’t recommend.

My Mom and I ate here for the first time recently. Like others have said, the bread was amazing(I wish I had some now), and I was also very happy with my Shrimp Piccolino. There was enough food for two whole meals. The waitress was very attentive and the wait time wasn’t very long. It isn’t fancy looking, but it has character! It reminds me of some family owned places I used to eat at in New York. It makes me a little sentimental :)

Initially a friend and I intended to dine at Chianti’s nearby however upon arriving there was a 75 minute wait. Not familiar with the area and craving Italian food we decided to try out Giuseppe’s based off the good reviews. The food was surprisingly disappointing based on Giuseppe’s having surprisingly good reviews. The bread was fresh and yummy however the side oil was way over spiced and unappetizing. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo which could have fed three people. If portions are important they definitely have that going however I’d rather have a great smaller sized portion versus huge and below mediocre. Our service was very attentive and great with the menu. I will not be returning.

Have been there a few times, restaurant is on the small side, have never had anything that wasn’t very good, bread and olive oil is super yummy, it would be a nice place to take a date, because it is good food and isn’t too expensive. The service has been great every time I have been. I will return many more times.

My girlfriend and went here for the first time as I was curious and had heard good things from a friend of mine. What I pictured this restaurant to be like was nothing like reality. Some positives but many Negatives. The bread and dipping oil was great, Caesar salad Mediocre at best. I had the sausage ziti with baked mozzarella it was actually really great with the right amount of spice. My Girlfriend had the chicken Alfredo, it was bland chicken tasted pre cooked or frozen it was definitely not cooked to order. Alfredo was flavorless and there was so much sauce the noodles were swimming in it. Wine selection was below average at best, all bottles served there can be found at your local bottle shop for less than $ 8 a bottle. Service here definitely needs improvement. Servers were not well dressed. Both wore white shirts that were a grey yellow from too much wear, and trashy jewelry(ours had Mardi Gras beads wrapped down her arm and the other server looked like her necklace was made of candy). That wasn’t even close to the biggest issues with their service. Neither server knew how to properly serve a bottle of wine. The bottle we ordered was opened elsewhere, instead of at the table, neither of us was given a short pour to sample the bottle. Salad was served which we shared, however when the server returned to retrieve our empty salad plates she request we take our forks back off the used salad plate instead of just bringing 2 new forks. If the last few details does not make it obvious that the servers were not well trained or experienced, the next mistake she made all servers should know before they even start a career waiting tables… Our server never ever came back to check on us after we had had some time to sample our meals. Our last contact was her asking if we would like our meals boxed up and she brought the check. I doubt we will be returning. As much as I hate chain restaurants you are better off going there for better service and better food.

I took a group here because I had enjoyed dinner at the Rosemount location before. I walked in to make sure they were ready for us(we had reservations). I had to go into the kitchen to find someone. I explained(as I had on the phone) that I had senior citizens and we needed to keep the service moving. We had to wait 10 plus min till we even got menus. Which we received because we asked. We were at Giuseppe’s for almost an hour before we got our food. We needed to get water, again we had to go into the kitchen to find someone. No staff ever introduced themselves. The place was totally empty except for us. The ceiling has stains. You get a dirty feel when u walk in. Mainly due to sticky floors, sticky tables. I dropped a piece of paper on the floor, when I picked it up it was filthy. The food was not fresh and was loaded with generic cheese . If there is a negative star rating I would give it

This Guiseppi’s is superior to the Rosemount location IMO. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food is good and patrons are not packed into tables like sardines. Also, the wine list is good!

While I ‘am starting a blog for the twin cities areaI italian restaurants for now I will give Unilocal reviews. This place has some work to do. First the service is not great medium at best. The bread is what everyone says it was excellent. The food was not great very saucy and not a good sauce. the meatballs tasted like the one you buy a Sams club. The only reason they get 3 stars it is a family owned business but the owners are not Italian.

First time here last night with my 10 year old son. Took at least 5 – 10 minutes to get menus and water. The place wasn’t even busy. Ordered capellini and was kinda bland needs garlic. Had 3 cubes of feta cheese on top. Real odd and bad taste. The bread was good and waitress gave us an extra basket. My son ordered pasta bolongaise and was drowning in sauce. He liked it. Ordered tirimisu. Just ok. Tasted frozen. The food was just ok. My review is the service was bad. Not personable waitresses, took forever to get food boxed up, refills of water and to take the bill. The décor was hideous. The ceiling was water stained and people wrote on the bricks. This place needs Restauu Impossible for a remodel and education on how to be a good waitress and customer service.

My Mom flew in from LA tonight and wanted Italian. I have eaten at Giuseppe’s years ago and thought, it was good in the past lets try jrt again. We were greeted by a woman who didn’t know where to seat us and stood around confused, the waitress told her to push two tables together in the other room. She did, the floor underneath was(dirty). That was a little distracting. We sat for quite awhile with no interaction from our waitress. If you have been here, there are maybe 10 tables in the whole place and 4 were occupied. When she finally did come she asked if we were waiting for another person. She didn’t ask to take a drink order or anything. I had to stop her from walking away and say«we all know what we want and I have the persons order that we are waiting on» Food came, chicken fettuccini Alfredo… three order of that and everyone’s chicken was soooo dry! Waitress never came back to check on us so we couldn’t tell her. My mom ordered spaghetti with meat sauce — the meat was to be sausage, it came on a separate plate for some reason and then came with meatballs too… OY Service, not good. Food would never return for it.

I love this place !! It seems like nothing from outside but inside it’s so nice little and cozy ! Great place for romantic night out . Like that they don’t have a big overwhelming menu. Love their food. Can never go wrong with anything and did I mention bread ??? It’s to die for ! I think we ate bread the whole night . Check it out

I was looking for great Italian food in the Burnsville area and tried a few different duds but then found this place on Unilocal and it had great reviews. Starting with the garlic bread, amazing! Served with olive oil and spices but we also order a side of Alfredo to dip in. The meals were very good, well portioned, and had a very authentic taste. The décor and staff were exactly what you expect for a small Italian joint. A little slow and classic décor but that does not take away from the quality of food.

I have to give these guys five stars. Not because they’re the best place I’ve ever been to, but because they’re able to 100% rekindle the phrase: «You can’t judge a book by its cover». Anyone who’s been by here knows what I’m referring to. On the outside, you see(like so many small restaurants) a dingy old strip mall. But the experience you will have upon visiting will blow you out of the water. I will say I pondered subtracting one star, because this is a place NOT suitable for children, especially small children. But it doesn’t seem fair to hold that against them. This is a romantic, cozy little space, PERFECT for a date or a group of four. A very intimate setting, I thought. Before ordering, your server will deliver a plate of warm bread slices with what appears to be a housemade oil mixture for dipping. It. Was. Fabulous. The menu is small, but not too small. For pizza & flatbread lovers, I’m afraid you’re out of luck. I, on the other hand, appreciate a small menu… because I feel like it leaves LESS room for the frustration in trying to make a decision, and MORE room to for love and attention to each dish. I ordered the lobster ravioli and my boyfriend ordered the classic spaghetti and meatballs… both were delicious. Creamy, large portions, packed with flavor. Can’t ask for much more than that. Best of all, the prices were SO reasonable. This place is a hidden gem(likely not for long) where you really get the bang for your buck. Word-of-mouth is what got us to visit, I will definitely continue the cycle!
