Have never been to murphys orchards but have done wholesale business with them this past summer my recommendation to anyone thinking of doing business with this company should be very careful. They gave us a quote which was reasonable for the jams then went on to deliver the Jamss and charged us 600 dollars for the delivery when this should have been put on a pallet. The cost would have been 159.00 dollars. They were very uncooperative and would not refund us the overcharge I am writing this review to warn anyone with the thought of doing business with this company to make sure you have everything in writing but I would old never do business with them again

My sons and I have visited twice now, once for an apple picking field trip in the fall, and again today to pick cherries. We were greeted right away by Katie(I hope I remembered her name correctly) who took the boys around to visit the animals, and helped us pick a variety of ripe cherries for a great price. The farm didn’t spray this year so some cherries are not fairing as well as others, but I’m more than happy to have pesticide free fruit for a little extra effort. The yellow cherries were especially tasty. The boys are still young to appreciate the history behind the farm’s connection to the Underground Railroad, but they liked seeing old farm equipment. We look forward to coming back for other fruits.

They have fresh Quince at $ 1/pound at Fall, hooray! Other produce such as beets and cabbages are available at other time during the year. They do answers the phone and I think it’s a good supply if you need something special for personal use.

Majestic afternoon tea at the farm today. The house was built in 1850 and has immense charm through each and every footstep. I was served Earl Grey along with the superb plate of scone and it was magnificent along with their own cherry marmalade. It was a great afternoon and the trees were particularly stunning as well with absolutely wonderful trunks.

I have been to the farm several times over the years, either on field trips with my kids, or to buy/pick fruits and vegetables. I finally ventured into the tea rooms in July of this year and wish I had done it sooner. I have gone back twice since that first visit and have a couple of future dates already planned. The rooms are set up very nicely in the old farmhouse but if the weather permits, and there is space available, I prefer to sit out on the porch. I had been wanting to take my middle daughter to a tea room, but was very hesitant to pay the $ 25 per person that another local tea house charges. The afternoon tea here is $ 11.45 each(for 2 or more people) and well worth it. They don’t have the vast tea selection that others have but there were enough options for us. The afternoon tea includes a selection of sandwiches, followed by a tray of assorted desserts and fresh baked scones(served with homemade jam and whipped cream). For about $ 4 more per person, you can add soup and fruit to your meal. I can’t wait to go back when the weather is cooler and they have a fire in the fireplace. I’m also excited to take my mom and my girls out for Christmas tea.

What a pleasant surprise! Pick your own fruit. Small(and I mean small… but enough to excite our kids) petting zoo. Educational visit as well, They had a nice educational display explaining the farm’s connection to the Underground Railroad. Very well done!

Beautiful location on a historical farm/orchard. The tea house is on the lower level of an 1800’s home. Scones are simple but very good, with all homemade jams & jellies from their orchard. Sandwiches and sweets were simple, but not all homemade. Tea included just two courses: finger sandwiches followed by tiers of scones& sweets, although plenty to feel satisfied. Tea was well served, although a very slim selection to choose from. Beautiful location — can’t beat the price of $ 9.50 for all you get. We also called last minute since we were visiting the area and reservations were not necessary. Be sure to visit the barn behind the house for produce, their homemade jams and to view the secret hiding place below the barn from the Underground Railroad… incredible to think what it must have been like. Nice place to relax, have tea & enjoy the beauty of day.
