Was a very good experience doctor was great they had a great selection of frames I got both contacts and designer frames with my insurance only paid a little extra not expensive at all they even helped my figure out what insurance I had they also gave me a good deal on contacts and a few extra pairs so I can go home with

I was browsing sunglasses in the area, and found out there’s JZ express there, only one optical store in the area actually, the staff were super nice and helpful, and the prices were about right too, after I tried on couple, I bought a pair of Tom Ford, and the stuff told me that they have eye doctor every Thursday and Saturday, and they take all kinds of insurance, so I made appt for next Saturday to check my prescription and need another pair of eyeglasses for using computer at my work.

I couldn’t have an exam because the Dr was not in, but they looked up my insurance and told me what was covered. But the thing is, they kind of lied about what is covered. I ended up going somewhere else later that same day, where I found out what my *actual* benefits are, and my insurance covers certain frames at 100%, yet JZ Optical was going to charge me $ 50 for these same frames.
Not cool.

I went to JZ Optical because they took my insurance and were close to my house. Everything went fine at the appointment. I got a prescription for glasses and contacts, including a free trial pair of contacts that worked fine. However, the person who wrote down my prescription wrote down the wrong prescription on the card, though the contacts they gave me to try were right. So when I ordered them based on the info they gave, I couldn’t see out of them. Same with the glasses. When I called to tell them that the glasses they ordered for me were the wrong prescription they suggested I get used to them. After three weeks of headaches and not being able to see, I called back to say they weren’t getting any better. They asked for a previous prescription I had gotten from another doctor years ago and used that to order me a new pair. Same with the contacts. I gave them the prescription from my old box. When I asked for my money back (I was moving across the country when this all happened) they refused. I questioned the point of paying them to order a pair of glasses and contacts using an old prescription I already had. Seems illegal.

This is a great environment to look for all types of eye wear. Sunglasses, reading or distant glasses with great prices. The customer service is excellent. Very professional staff members and are on point on what the customer needs or wants. I have a few from this place and I’ve been totally satisfied.

I found JZ optical in my unions provider list and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice, clean shop with friendly service. They also have a good selection of both adult and children’s frames. The service was fast and I love that they are in the neighborhood. I also had an issue with my insurance and they worked diligently to help resolve it. My kids are thrilled about their new glasses and I had a very pleasant experience.
