The absolute BEST brussel sprouts I have ever had in my life! So delicious. The fries were also delish. Drinks were meh. unless you like beer. The friends I was with enjoyed their beers along with the food.

Went last night and was blown away by the food and cocktails. Pineapple made me a couple of outstanding drinks(including the well-named Take Off Your Jacket And Pants), and a buddy and I split the sardines, the brussel sprouts, beans, yucca fries, and half-chicken. Walked away fat and happy, was really great food and worth the extra couple stops on the L-train!

5 star place. The drink menu offers a rich selection of drafts and cocktails, spurring either the conversation with your loved one or the monologue of the lonely drinker. The DJ has an extremely good taste, featuring many romantic 70s classics and some Johnny Cash. The place is intimate yet has a lot of open space. To conclude: This is an excellent place for a date but would be my top choice for breaking up with someone.

Great neighborhood spot – always cozy, solid American-Latin American cuisine. Skewers and selection of sauces are always on-point, chicharones are light and appetizing. Desert is special. Attentiveness of the staff could be improved, but – hey – it’s Bushwick. If you’re not okay with laid back, you’re in the wrong neighborhood.

Found Lorenzo’s on Unilocal for dinner, and it went above and beyond my expectations. The restaurant is nice and bright, and the kitchen is open. The bartender Toby took care of us — from great drink to even better food recommendations. The shrimp skewers, pulled pork nachos and rotisserie chicken were all delicious. We had the sweet plantain topped with yogurt for dessert, and it was a nice light(almost healthy option) way to end the meal. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

cool spot, great vibe and music but the food was inconsistent. the ceviche is good, not great. they need to calm down on price. it’s not a $ 19 dish. the mackerel was just okay. the meat skewers were excellent!!! tongue and steak were delicious and the sauces. jicama salad is spicy! drinks were good and service was friendly. I would go back to try other items on the menu but maybe when it warms up. the place was cold.

Fantastic spot for drinks. Came here on Halloween with a bunch of friends. The«Take Off Your Pants and Jacket» cocktail was the hit of the evening. Smoky & delightful. Our waiter was awesome too. We’ll be back!

I came here for a glass of wine and the bartender was so nice. Their drink menu seems impressive. My bf had the«take off my jacket and pants» cocktail which he enjoyed. I will be returning to try their food menu.

Just had a nice dinner with a friend. Nice décor, tastefully done and fits the area well. We ordered the ribs and skewers, all of which were very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. The only reason I won’t give 5 stars is its a tad pricey, but nothing outrageous. That, and the playlist was a bit too Lite-FM for my tastes, which along with the flickering lights were mildly annoying. Will def return, overall a good spot.

Really stands out in this area cuz it’s so darn pretty! The food looks really good and the drinks have some classics from South America including ingredients like Aguardiente(«Fire Water») and Cachaca. Staff is super cool and one of the bartender/servers is married to a Colombian(ethnocentrically, that makes me automatically like him more lol).

Latin American cuisine is never my go-to when trying to decide on what to eat. And I generally never order chicken when I’m dining out because it feels like such a wasted opportunity to eat something awesome instead. However last night this place made me rethink both of those beliefs. To start its right off the L train so it’s easy to find and a great location(even though full disclosure I was wearing shoes all day that killed my feet so I took an Über). And the place itself is super cute. The hostess gave us the option to sit at the chef’s table which is a really a bar right along the length of the kitchen. I love watching people cook so this would be my first choice every time. The only distraction is that the small serving plates live in front of you so when you sit there, occasionally a server may have to reach around you to grab them, but being a New Yorker I’m used to stuff like that so not a big deal. The fun part about this section(if you’re into food and love to talk food) is that you get to talk to the chef and cooks and ask them about all the ingredients and preparation of items going out which is super informative. I tried 3 of the cocktails. I’m not huge into overly frou-frou drinks but my favorite ended up being the frozen Paloma. It was actually off the menu and the server suggested it to me. He also told me the menu would be changing for fall so by the end of this month likely it won’t be available again until next season, but I was happy he suggested it and I got to try it while it was. To start, my boyfriend and I tried the chicharron, mushroom chaufa and ribs. Ribs were great. They prepare their meats on a wood fired grill and it’s super tender and comes with an awesome sauce.(btw they have several sauce options for all the sides and entrees and I tired most except the super hot one and they were all really good). My favorite small plate was the mushroom chaufa though. It was almost like a really high end fried rice. I loved it and so did my boyfriend who has never eaten quinoa in his life and generally gets scared of things that even look like quinoa, but he practically licked the plate. For entrees we got the beef loin skewers and the half chicken with papa fritas. Let me start by saying I’ve never met a potato I didn’t like, but these deep fried potato cubes were perfectly crispy and perfectly salted and delicious! The chicken was really the star of the meal. It was so tender that I even ate some white meat and I generally hate white meat because it’s so dry, but this was beyond tender and so flavorful. The skewers were good too but the chicken was perfection. What I love about this place is they are not scared to season the food and that’s why the food is so good. Then the chef sent out a sample squash soup for us to try which was so nice of him because I really wanted to try it. It was not sweet which people tend to do to squash soups, so I really liked it. We ended with tres leches for dessert which was also amazing. 2 years ago I randomly had the best tres leches at a potluck backyard BBQ and have been chasing the dragon ever since to find another as good. So I’m hard to please when it comes to tres leches but this one is good. I will definitely be returning and trying the porchetta and one of the fish dishes next time. I saw them being prepared and they looked amazing too. It’s crazy to know that Bushwick is becoming a destination location for food when 5 years ago a friend of mine got punched in the eye and her phone stolen right off that same stop. But clearly times change!

Great first visit. Cool hip-hop/soul music fun vibe(Common & John Legend type). Great outdoor seating and indoor space. Started out with pulled pork nachos which were topped with fresh ingredients, only downside is that they could have used more meat. The skirt steak was delicious! We got the cilantro crème sauce and a side of beans which were equally delicious. As for drinks, the bartender gave us 2 small samples of frozen cocktails on the menu and we also ordered another mezcal cocktail. No complaints here. The drinks were great. I do think there should be a little bit more of a selection of draft beers. Overall great first experience. Definitely recommended.

I was starving one night and there aren’t many options for late night food in Bushwick and Lorenzo’s is seemingly trying to fill that void. They served me cold nachos to wash down with a $ 7 draft. Not really sure what else to say other then, «Bushwick standup for yourselves.»

Great first experience. Super chill vibe, lots of good looking people, awesome quality rap music playing. Veal skewers — great light steak flavor, most, green sauce was killer! Chicharron — large pork Rinds topped with avocado, cheese, and green sauce. Very light for fried pork skin. Great substitute for chips! Whole Branzino — perfectly grilled to tender perfection. The stuff aromatics really carried the dish. Loads of lemon and thyme. Super moist and light charred taste and aroma Nachos — nothing special but big portion. Decent snack Beer selection is meh — typical easy distributor options, «local» braven brewing is always on Huge cocktail selection. Looks promising Coming back soon to get after the rest of the menu. The ambience is enough to carry this place on the short term

This is a great date night location. The space is great. It was a beautiful night and we were able to sit outside. I am Peruvian and the chicken was pretty authentic. I recommend getting the green sauce. I took off a star because those plantains were not good. I dipped it in the sauce to give it flavor. My boyfriend got corn rice and loco beans and raved about it. The service was prompt and friendly. The price was perfect. Great experience overall and will return.

I really wanted to love this place but there were some minor issues that kind of ruined my first time here. I’ll start with saying hooray for a new palette of cuisine on the Troutman strip! They serve up Latin American food, not exactly authentic, but overall good nonetheless. The space is very similar to Lot 45 about 2 doors down. Large open space, tall ceilings, wooden furnishings and brick walls. Very inviting atmosphere for this corner location. They have fun cocktails with names like«Peach me how to dougie» and«Take off my pants and jacket”(1). I tried the«floripa sucks» and the«not too sweet» and they both were pretty tasty. We started with the chicharron, which I assumed was going to be crispy pork belly, but ended up being pork rinds. For $ 8 this felt like ripoff; it was just rinds with lemon juice and cilantro. Skip that. For my entrée, I had the half chicken which comes with a sauce and a side of corn rice. For $ 12 this might be the best bargain. It’s a generous size and nicely flavored half chicken with even better corn rice. My boyfriend had the skirt steak with a side of golden potatoes and chimichurri sauce($ 20). Several problems with this one. He asked for medium well and got rare. Then when he sent it back it a came back to the table it was cooked better but… cold. How? So it got sent back again and this time it was fine. The flavor of the steak was great, but the portion was SOSMALL. It had to be about 4 oz. Skirt steak is already pretty thin, so imagine it even smaller than that. And every time we sent it back it seemed the plate was coming back smaller and smaller. The side of potatoes were tiny also, there were maybe 5 pieces on there. This should’ve been $ 12 and the half chicken $ 20. The dessert, however, was the highlight of the night. We got the tres leches cake that came with a scoop of caramel ice cream. Holy moly. I f*ckin love caramel anything. This was home run. Service was a mix of lack luster and good. The host who sat us was nice, the waiter was just doing his job and his smile seemed forced, the manager who came over to check on us was sweet and understanding. I think the menu needs a little bit of restructuring and the staff should seem more interested, maybe this place will do just fine. There are some game changers on this strip so step it up Lorenzo’s. —– (1) Full drink list here:

#Cool looking space with outdoor seating. My #skirt steak looked small, like the size of a quarter pounder #McPatty. I think it was served on an appetizer sized plate. I think I made it look bigger in my photo by the angle. The Pipian sauce was good. Tasted like a #Peruvian green sauce. Well, my sauce was green. Maybe they gave me the green sauce. If so, the green sauce was good! The loco beans weren’t so #crazy. I thought it was going to be @insane. #But I like the look of the space and the outdoor seating.

First things first: great service, great space, great ambience. They were playing hip hop which honestly I don’t think it works for a restaurant. The food: First off, I’m latin american and I know about seasoning. They’re listed as Argentinian-Peruvian cuisine. Not sure I got any of those. We got the«Mushroom Chaufa» which looked and tasted more like a vegetable Chaufa. Very hard to find the Mushroom flavor in it. Second we got the Ceviche, it was clearly marinated in old lime juice. You know lime is old when it tastes bitter(not the usual sour). I definitely can live without this ceviche. Plus a bit of cilantro wouldn’t hurt at all. And it was tiny. Listed as «small plate» but come on, you could count the bites. Then we got the Crab Causa which is boiled purple potatoes with crab and mayo on top. Couldn’t taste any other thing than that. Bland and kind of boring. Where’s the latin flavor? Cilantro, salt and garlic please! A side of ‘tostones’ will not hurt this menu. Then we wanted to give it a last chance since we got super excited when we read there was tres leches on the menu. Which for my understanding, Tres Leches(Three Milks) is a super wet, creamy and delicious cake drenched in 3 types of milk. Topped with merengue. Well, not in Lorenzo’s. We got a normal birthday-style cake. With ice cream on top and everything. Only thing missing was a candle. And it literally top it off: whole frozen strawberries. Anyone can spot the difference between a fresh strawberry and a frozen one. But they waiter was nice enough to change that dessert for another one: The Flan. Very heavy on the condensed milk and overly sweet. Some vanilla extract would have helped. I really hope they can get it together because the spot is beautiful and the service is great. It doesn’t feel like honest food, made with love and passion. More of a latin fusion gimmick to grab attention in the new cool hood all the kids are talking about. Go to Chimu for Peruvian. Not as cool of a place, but delicious.

Absolutely beautiful interior . Very inventive menu: I loved what i ordered, peach dougie cocktail(smokey flavor). Half chicken with fried potatoes, nachos(must have), turon for dessert so good. Definitely going back. Only suggestion for the restaurant is to play different music. Top 20’s lists do not excite me. Give me something obscure, dont look for led zeppelins top track, play the one that nobody recognizes. Or some 80s french electro, keep it weird. I dont want to predict anything in this neighborhood.

Amazing. Great service. Beautiful space. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The roasted chicken was light and fresh and tasty. Plantains were perfect. Beef skewers perfect for an app. The dessert was amazing. We shared something with a banana in a spring roll. Can’t wait to go back.
