History
Established in 2014.
Mother and son duo of Helene Rogers and Charles Freestone draw from many years of experience in the restaurant industry. Rogers worked in restaurants since a young age, and for 10 years owned The Black Duck in Woods Hole. Freestone started his own career at a young age as well, practically growing up in his mother’s restaurants, and learning much from her, as well as his own restaurant experiences, on the Cape and in Boston. After Freestone graduated from Endicott College with a degree in Hospitality, the two began talk of opening their own place.
When Rogers saw the location that would eventually become Stomping Grounds Grille, she fell in love instantly. The two soon had signed a lease, and Stomping Grounds Grille was born. Opened for lunch on July 1st, the restaurant soon expanded to include dinner 4 nights a week, and a Sunday Brunch.
